OPERATING

INSTRUCTIONS

This styler is intended for household use. Use on

Alternating Current (50/60Hz) only. This unit is

designed to be operated at 120/240V AC.

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is

wider than the other). As a safety feature, this

plug will ﬁt in a polarized outlet only one way. If

the plug does not ﬁt fully in the outlet, reverse

the plug. If it still does not ﬁt, contact a qualiﬁed

electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety

feature.

DUAL VOLTAGE

This straightening iron will automatically

adjust to the proper voltage. Use an adapter

plug with correct conﬁguration prior to use

in outlet.

NOTE: Do not use this styling appliance on

hair extensions.

AUTO-MONITORING FUNCTION

ALCI WITH LED INDICATOR

IF THE LED INDICATOR IS OFF WHEN THE

APPLIANCE IS OPERATING, THIS INDICATES

THAT THE ALCI IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY.

STOP USING AND RETURN APPLIANCE TO AN

AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER.

CHECK ALCI SAFETY FEATURE EVERY TIME

YOU USE THE APPLIANCE.

This appliance is equipped with an auto-

monitoring Appliance Leakage Circuit Interrupter

(ALCI), a safety feature that provides protection

under abnormal conditions, such as immersion

in water. To ensure that the ALCI is functioning

properly, perform the following test each time

you use the appliance.

1. Plug in the appliance with the power off and press

the test button on the ALCI. (see diagram above).

2. There will be an audible click, the reset button

will pop out and the LED indicator will be off. The

appliance will not turn on. This indicates the ALCI

is functioning properly.

3. To reset the ALCI, unplug the unit, press the

reset button and plug the unit back into the

outlet. The LED indicator should light up and the

appliance should work normally when switched on.

WARNING – IF THE LED INDICATOR IS OFF AND THE

UNIT TURNS ON, THIS INDICATES THAT THE ALCI

DEVICE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. STOP USING

THE APPLIANCE IMMEDIATELY AND RETURN TO AN

AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER FOR EVALUATION.

4. If the appliance shuts off and the reset

button pops up during use, this could indicate

a malfunction. Remove the plug from the outlet

and allow the appliance to cool. Press the reset

button and plug it into the outlet. The appliance

should then function normally. If not, send it to

an authorized service center for evaluation.

5. IF THE UNIT IS IMMERSED IN WATER.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RESET AND USE

THE APPLIANCE. IT SHOULD BE SENT

TO AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER

IMMEDIATELY.

STYLING WITH THE

CERAMIC-COATED, EASY-GLIDE

FLOATING PLATES AND BARREL

Your new styler has a ceramic-coated,

easy-glide surface. This means it’s not only

simpler to clean off styling product residue, etc.,

after each use, but you’ll ﬁnd that hair glides

easily over the surface as you’re styling.

The ceramic surface also helps smooth down

ﬂyaways. It evenly distributes heat so that the

style you create has a salon-perfect, silky

smooth, shiny ﬁnish.

UNIQUE AIRFLOW SYSTEM

This styling iron features a unique cooling

system for the outer barrel. A fan releases cool

air through the vents in the barrel to help set

your style and create long-lasting results.

USING INSTANT HEAT, THE 4

HEAT SETTINGS AND UNIFORM

HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM

This styling iron features a heater that

maintains constant temperature during use

for precision styling.

The Instant Heat technology has 4 heat settings

plus cool air setting. There is a temperature

range that’s gentle and safe for every type of

hair, from the ﬁnest to the most resistant, to help

you create the look you want.

If you have ﬁne hair, a low temperature will

provide the best results. If you have thick, wavy

or hard-to-style hair, keep the heat setting on

high. Always test a small section of hair to

ensure the proper heat setting for your hair.

Conair’s professional salon standards of

engineering provide you with a uniform and

improved heat recovery system that maintains

the iron at constant temperatures. There is a

constant supply of power to ensure that heat is

continuously and quickly delivered for optimal

styling results, unlike other units, which lose

heat during use. This provides consistent styling

power so that every strand of your hair is set

with the same level of heat and comes out the

same way for a perfect ﬁnish.

Never leave your styler on and unattended.

However, should you fail to turn the iron off,

it will shut itself off automatically within

60 minutes.

GETTING STARTED

Plug the styler into any standard electrical

outlet. Press and hold the ON/OFF/FAN button

( ) for 1-2 seconds to turn the styler on. The

unit will automatically default to the 320°F heat

setting. The white 320°F and fan LEDs will start

to blink. Both LEDs will become solid and the

fan will start to release cool air once the

temperature has been reached.

Press the +/- button to select your desired

temperature. To style without the fan, press the

ON/OFF/FAN button ( ) 2 times quickly to turn

off the fan. The fan LED will turn off. Press the

ON/OFF/FAN button ( ) 2 times quickly again to

turn on fan. The fan LED will turn on.

Press and hold the ON/OFF/FAN button ( ) for

1-2 seconds to turn the unit off. All LED lights

and fan will turn off. Unplug the unit. Allow the

styler to cool down before storing.

TO STYLE HAIR

Hair should be clean and completely dry before

using the styler. Ensure hair is dry and combed

through.

FOR CURLS AND WAVES

1. Separate a section of hair. The smaller the

section, the more deﬁned the curl. The larger

the section, the looser the curl or wave.

2. Press the spoon handle to

open plates. Take a section

of hair and place it between

the plates, roughly 2 inches

from the roots. (See Fig. 1.)

Release the spoon handle

to hold hair in between

plates.

3. Turn the styler 180° away

from face so that the hair is

wrapped once around the

outside of the styler (Fig. 2).

4. Slowly glide the styler

along the length of hair

from roots to ends in a

downward motion (Fig. 3).

5. Release the hair from the

styler. The cool air channels

set the style.

6. Repeat for each section of hair.

TO SMOOTH AND STRAIGHTEN

1. Start with a hair section that is 1½ inches

wide and no more than ½ inch thick.

2. Press the spoon handle to open iron and place

the hair section between the two hot plates,

close to the scalp. Trap hair between the plates

by closing the handles together.

3. While maintaining the tension, slowly pull

the unit down along the hair section toward

the ends. At the ends, press the spoon handle

to open iron and allow the hair to slide out.

4. Repeat the process on additional sections of

hair until you achieve the hairstyle you desire.

It may be necessary to repeat the process on

certain areas, depending on the texture of

your hair.

Some experience is necessary when learning

to use this ﬂat iron. After using the iron several

times, you will learn the ideal way to straighten

and style your hair.

USER MAINTENANCE

Your styling iron is virtually maintenance free.

No lubrication is needed. Keep all vents and

openings clear of dirt and dust. If cleaning

becomes necessary, disconnect the unit from

PRUEBE EL INTERRUPTOR DE CONTROL DE

POTENCIA ANTES DE CADA USO.

Este aparato cuenta con un enchufe equipado con

un interruptor de control de potencia (ALCI, por

sus siglas en inglés) automático, una función de

seguridad que brinda protección en condiciones

anormales, p. ej., si el aparato se cae al agua.

Haga la prueba siguiente antes de cada uso, para

comprobar que el interruptor de control de potencia

está funcionando correctamente:

1. Enchufe el aparato (no lo prenda) y apriete el

botón de prueba (véase el gráfico).

2. Escuchará un “clic”, el botón de reinicio saltará

y el indicador luminoso estará apagado. El aparato

no se prenderá. Esto significa que el interruptor de

control de potencia está funcionando correctamente.

3. Para reajustar el interruptor de control de

potencia, desenchufe el aparato, presione el

botón de reinicio y vuelva a enchufar el aparato.

El indicador LED debería prenderse y el aparato

debería funcionar de forma normal al prenderlo.

ADVERTENCIA – SI LA LUZ DEL INDICADOR LED

ESTÁ APAGADA Y LA UNIDAD PRENDE, ESTO

Este aparato cuenta con un revestimiento de

cerámica de fácil deslizamiento. Notará que el

cabello se desliza fácilmente sobre el

revestimiento y que los residuos de productos de

peinado son muy fáciles de limpiar después de

cada uso.

La superficie de cerámica también ayuda a

controlar la estática. Distribuye el calor

uniformemente, para crear peinados sedosos y

brillantes, igual que en el salón.

SISTEMA DE VENTILACIÓN ÚNICO

Este aparato cuenta con un sistema de

enfriamiento único en el exterior del tubo. Un

ventilador genera aire frío, que los orificios de

ventilación en el tubo distribuyen para ayudar a

fijar el peinado y crear resultados duraderos.

Este aparato está equipado con una potente

resistencia que logra un calentamiento muy

rápido y mantiene la temperatura constante

durante el uso.

También cuenta con 4 opciones de temperatura y

aire frío para permitirle escoger la temperatura

perfecta para todo tipo de cabello, desde el más

fino hasta el más resistente, y siempre obtener

los resultados deseados.

Si su cabello es fino/delgado, se recomienda usar

un ajuste de temperatura bajo para conseguir

mejores resultados. Si su cabello es espeso,

Este aparato disfruta de los mismos estándares

de calidad e ingeniería que los aparatos

profesionales y cuenta con un nuevo y mejorado

sistema de recuperación del calor que mantiene

la temperatura constante durante el uso.

A diferencia de otras herramientas cuya

temperatura baja durante el uso, este sistema

mantiene la temperatura constante, sin pérdida

de calor. El aparato usa la misma temperatura

para peinar cada sección, lo que permite obtener

resultados uniformes y peinados perfectos.

Nunca descuide/deje el aparato sin vigilancia

después de encenderlo. Para su seguridad,

el aparato se apagará automáticamente

después de 60 minutos.

FUNCIONAMIENTO BÁSICO

Enchufe el cable en una toma de corriente;

Mantenga presionado el botón de ON/OFF/FAN

( ) por 1 a 2 segundos para encender el aparato

al nivel de temperatura por defecto, 320 °F

(160 °C); los indicadores LED blancos al lado

del nivel de temperatura y de “FAN” empezarán

a parpadear. Presione repetidamente el botón

+/- para elegir la temperatura deseada cuando

el aparato llegue a la temperatura elegida, los

indicadores LED dejarán de parpadear y el

ventilador empezará a producir aire.

Para desactivar el sistema de ventilación,

presione rápidamente el botón ON/OFF/FAN ( )

2 veces; el indicador LED al lado de “FAN” se

apagará. Para volver a activar el sistema de

ventilación, presione rápidamente el botón

ON/OFF/FAN ( ) 2 veces otra vez; el indicador

LED al lado de “FAN” se encenderá.

Para apagar el aparato, mantenga presionado

el botón ON/OFF/FAN ( ) por 1 a 2 segundos;

todos los indicadores LED se apagarán.

Desenchufe el aparato y permita que se

enfríe antes de guardarlo.

FUNDAMENTOS DEL PEINADO

Cerciórese de que el cabello está limpio,

completamente seco y desenredado.

CÓMO RIZAR/ONDULAR

1. Divida el cabello en secciones. Cuanto más

delgadas sean las secciones, más definidos

serán los rizos. Cuanto más anchas sean

las secciones, más sueltos serán los rizos

y las ondas.

2. Presione la manija para

abrir las placas. Agarre

una sección de cabello y

colóquela entre las placas, a

aprox. 2 in (5cm) de la raíz

(Fig. 1). Suelte la manija para

cerrar las placas.

3. Gire el aparato 180° sobre

sí mismo, enrollando el

cabello una vez alrededor

del tubo (Fig. 2).

4. Deslice suavemente el

aparato hasta las puntas

(Fig.3).

5. Abra las placas para soltar

el cabello. El aire frío

distribuido por los orificios

de ventilación en el tubo

fijará el peinado.

6. Repita la misma técnica todo alrededor

de la cabeza.

CÓMO ALISAR EL CABELLO

1.. ivida el cabello en secciones de 1½ in (4cm)

de ancho por un máximo de ½ in (1.5cm)

de grueso.

2.. oloque el aparato cerca del cuero cabelludo,

abra las placas y coloque una sección de cabello

entre ellas. Cierre las placas.

3.. anteniendo la tensión, baje lentamente el

aparato hacia las puntas. Presione la manija

para soltar el cabello al llegar a las puntas.

4.. epita el proceso en cada sección, hasta

conseguir el estilo deseado.

Dependiendo de la textura del cabello, puede que

sea necesario repetir el proceso varias veces en

algunas secciones.

Nota: Será necesario experimentar un poco al

principio. Con práctica, encontrará la manera

perfecta para alisar y peinar su cabello fácil

y rápidamente.
