Product or the equipment under test.

To prevent possible electrical shock, îżre, or personal injury:
âRead all safety information before you use the Product.
âCarefully read all instructions.
â Use the Product only as speciîżed, or the protection supplied by the Product can be
compromised.
âReplace or recharge the batteries when the low battery indicator shows to prevent
incorrect measurements.
âDo not use the Product around explosive gas, vapor, or in damp or wet environments.
âDo not use the Product if it operates incorrectly.
âDo not use the Product if it is damaged.
â See emissivity information for actual temperatures. Reîective objects result in lower
than actual temperature measurements. These objects pose a burn hazard.
âRemove the batteries if the Product is not used for an extended period of time, or if
stored in temperatures above 50 °C. If the batteries are not removed, battery leakage
can damage the Product.
â Use only speciîżed replacement parts.
âUse only Fluke approved power adapters to charge the VT04 battery.

To prevent personal injury and for safe operation and maintenance of the Product:
â Batteries contain hazardous chemicals that can cause burns or explode. If exposure to
chemicals occurs, clean with water and get medical aid.
âBe sure that the battery polarity is correct to prevent battery leakage.
âDo not short the battery terminals together.
âKeep cells and battery packs clean and dry. Clean dirty connectors with a dry, clean
cloth.
âDo not disassemble or crush battery cells and battery packs.
â Do not put battery cells and battery packs near heat or îżre. Do not put in sunlight.
âUse only the Fluke supplied power adapter to charge the VT04 battery.

handling. Resellers are not authorized to extend any other warranty on Flukeâs behalf. To obtain
service during the warranty period, contact your nearest Fluke authorized service center to obtain
return authorization information, then send the product to that Service Center with a description of
the problem.
