Hinweise für Ihr Wohlbefinden
In folgenden Fällen/Bereichen darf das Gerät nicht angewendet werden:
• auf der Vorderseite des Halses (Karotissinus),
• bei Patienten mit Herzschrittmacher,
• zur Stimulierung der Gehirnregion,
• bei Schmerzen mit unbekannter Ursache,
• bei Hautreizungen, Hautwunden und Hauterkrankungen,
• auf neueren Narben,
• während der Schwangerschaft,
• im Augen- und Genitalbereich; hier ist die Anwendung absolut untersagt,
• bei Metallimplantaten (einschl. Spirale),
• in Bereichen mit verminderter Empfindlichkeit,
• bei Prothesen und/oder metallischen zahnmedizinischen Apparaturen (für die
"Oberlippenbart"-Behandlung),
• auf den Lippen; die Positionierung der Elektroden auf den Lippen ist absolut
verboten.
•
Falls gesundheitliche Probleme vorliegen, darf das Gerät nicht ohne vor-
herige Rücksprache mit dem Arzt verwendet werden.
• Die Behandlung sollte keine Schmerzen verursachen. Spüren Sie Schmerzen
oder empfinden die Anwendung als unangenehm, brechen Sie ab und halten
Sie Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt.
•
Die Haut darf keinerlei Verletzungen aufweisen (die Haut sollte vor der
ersten Behandlung nicht rasiert werden, um vom Rasierapparat verursachte
Mikroschnitte zu vermeiden).
•
Nach der Epilation dürfen 24 Stunden lang weder Deodorant noch Parfüm
verwendet werden.
Was Sie unbedingt beachten sollten
•
Benutzen Sie das Gerät nur entsprechend seiner Bestimmung laut
Gebrauchsanweisung.
• Bei Zweck ent fremdung erlischt der Garantie anspruch.
• Es darf nur das vom Hersteller empfohlene Zubehör (Elektroden, Kabel)
zusammen mit dem Gerät verwendet werden.
• Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht, wenn es nicht einwandfrei funktioniert, wenn
es herunter- oder ins Wasser gefallen ist oder beschädigt wurde.
• Betreiben Sie das Gerät nicht in der Nähe von starken Sendern wie z.B.
Mikro- und Kurzwellen-Geräten oder Radiosendern. Sie können die Funktion
beeinträchtigen.
•
Sorgen Sie dafür, dass der Nutzer nicht mit Metallgegenständen in Kontakt
steht (z. B. Stuhl oder Sitz).
•
Schützen Sie das Gerät vor Feuchtigkeit. Sollte dennoch einmal Flüssigkeit in
das Gerät eindringen, müssen die Batterien sofort entfernt und weitere
Anwendungen vermieden werden. Setzen Sie sich in diesem Fall mit Ihrer
Servicestelle in Verbindung.
• Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht, während Sie baden oder duschen.
• Während des Autofahrens, Bedienens und Führens einer Maschine darf das
Gerät nicht angewendet werden.

Dieses Gerät ist nicht dafür bestimmt, durch Personen (einschließlich Kinder)

denn, sie werden durch eine für ihre Sicherheit zuständige Person beauf-
sichtigt oder erhielten von ihr Anweisungen, wie das Gerät zu benutzen ist.

Kinder sollten beaufsichtigt werden, um sicherzustellen, dass sie nicht mit
dem Gerät spielen.
• Im Falle von Störungen reparieren Sie das Gerät nicht selbst. Es erlischt dann
nicht nur jeglicher Garantieanspruch, sondern es können ernsthafte Gefahren
entstehen (Feuer, elektrischer Schlag, Verletzung). Lassen Sie Reparaturen nur

Hinweise zu den Elektroden

Sorgen Sie aus hygienischen Gründen dafür, dass jeder Nutzer eigene Elek-
trodenpads verwendet.

Verwenden Sie nur einwandfrei klebende Elektrodenpads.
•
Positionieren Sie die Elektrodenpads nur an den in dieser Gebrauchsanwei-
sung gezeigten Punkten.
•

Eine leichte Rötung der Haut nach der Anwendung ist normal und ver-

Wenn bei längerer Therapiezeit Hautirritationen auftreten, wählen Sie
kürzere Therapiezeiten.

Treten stärkere Hautirritationen auf, brechen Sie die Behandlung ab und

Kleberückstände auf der Haut entfernen Sie mit Wasser und Seife. Verwen-

WARNUNG
Achten Sie darauf, dass die Verpackungsfolien nicht in die
Hände von Kindern gelangen! Es besteht Erstickungsgefahr!
1) Haare entstehen in den Haarfollikeln. Auf einem Quadratzentimeter Haut
eines Menschen können sich zwischen 60 und 500 Follikel befinden. Aus
jedem Follikel kann ein Haar wachsen, doch je nach Follikel geschieht dies mit
unterschiedlichen Geschwindigkeiten.
2) Jedes Haar durchläuft einen Wachstumszyklus, wobei zwischen Wachstum,
Übergangs- und Ruhephase unterschieden wird. In der Wachstumsphase
(2 - 7 Jahre) wächst das Haar täglich um ca. 0,3 mm. Während der Über-
gangsphase (2 - 3 Wochen) wird die Haarwurzel von der Nährstoffversorgung
abgetrennt und das Haar in Richtung Hautoberfläche geschoben. In der
Ruhephase (2 - 4 Monate) sitzt das Haar nur noch locker im Haarkanal und
fällt dann aus.
3) Die Haarentfernung ist nur effektiv, wenn das Wachstum des Haares im Haar-
follikel gehemmt oder unterbunden werden kann.
4) Im Allgemeinen glaubt man, Haare, die eine Woche nach Epilation wieder
erscheinen, wären dieselben, die zuvor entfernt wurden, doch in diesem Fall
handelt es sich um Haare, die aus den benachbarten Follikeln entstanden
sind.
5) Deshalb ist es wichtig, sich der Behandlung ein bis zwei Mal pro Woche zu
unterziehen, da die ersten Ergebnisse erst nach einigen Behandlungswochen
erzielt werden und sich die Wirkung durch die kontinuierliche Anwendung
des Produktes allmählich steigert.

Entfernen Sie den Deckel vom Batteriefach
auf der Rückseite des Gerätes.
Legen Sie die vier mitgelieferten Batterien (Typ AAA (LR03), 1,5 V) ein. Achten
Sie auf die Polung der Batterien (wie im Batteriefach angezeigt). Setzen Sie den
Batteriefachdeckel wieder ein.
Wenn die Batterien schwächer werden, leuchtet das Batteriesymbol
im
Display
. Schaltet sich das Gerät nach Druck auf die Ein-Aus-Taste

Kabelanschluss
Das Gerät ist ausgeschaltet. Zum Anschluss schieben Sie die Gerätestecker des

Befestigung der Elektroden
Das Gerät ist ausgeschaltet. Nehmen Sie den Trägerfilm mit den beiden Elektro-
denpads aus der Transporttüte. Stecken Sie die beiden Elektrodenstecker vom
anderen Ende des Kabels
in die Buchsen an den Elektroden. Die Elektroden
verbleiben dabei zum Schutz auf dem Trägerfilm.

Vorbereitung
der Haut
Vor der ersten Behandlung wird geraten, die Haut mit einem alkoholfreien
Reinigungsmittel zu reinigen, um Reste von Öl, Schminke usw. zu beseitigen.
Trocknen Sie die Haut gründlich.
Die Behandlung darf nur auf gesunder Haut erfolgen. Die Behandlung lässt sich
auf epilierter und nicht epilierter Haut durchführen. Haare müssen nicht sichtbar
sein, um die Elektrolyse-Epilation durchzuführen (die Wachstumsphase beginnt,
wenn sich das Haar noch nicht sichtbar in der Haut befindet).
Vor dem Anlegen der Elektroden
kontrollieren Sie unbedingt, dass das Gerät
ausgeschaltet ist.
Entfernen Sie vor dem Anlegen die Elektroden von den Schutzfolien. Bewahren
Sie diese Schutzfolien gut auf, um die Elektroden nach Gebrauch wieder darauf
kleben zu können. Kleben Sie die Elektroden den Abbildungen (siehe Kapitel
3.5) entsprechend an die Stelle Ihres Körpers, wo die Behandlung stattfinden
soll. Platzieren Sie die Elektroden nacheinander an den Körperregionen, die Sie
von Haaren befreien möchten. Drücken Sie dabei die Elektrodenpads fest auf die
gereinigte und trockene Haut. Falls die Elektrodenpads nicht korrekt befestigt
werden, kann kein Stromfluss entstehen, und das Gerät würde sich beim Start
eines Programmes (siehe Kapitel 3.8) nach wenigen Sekunden automatisch
abschalten.
WARNUNG
• Bevor Sie die Elektrodenpads entfernen oder an einer anderen
Körperstelle platzieren, vergewissern Sie sich immer, dass das
Gerät ausgeschaltet ist bzw. schalten Sie es mit der Ein-/Aus-
Taste
aus!
• Erst danach entfernen Sie die Elektrodenpads vorsichtig, indem
Sie Ihre Finger unter den Rand der Elektrode schieben und die
Elektrode so sanft abheben. Entfernen Sie die Elektrodenpads
nie, indem Sie an den Kabeln ziehen.
ACHTUNG
• Zur sicheren und hygienischen Aufbewahrung kleben Sie die
Elektrodenpads wieder auf die Schutzfolie zurück.
• Sollten Sie die Elektrodenpads
erneuern müssen, verwenden
Sie nur Original - MEDISANA - Elektrodenpads.
Nachdem Sie die selbst haftenden Elektrodenpads auf dem zu epilierenden
Hautabschnitt befestigt haben, gehen Sie vor wie ab Kapitel 3.6 beschrieben.
Die Größe der Elektrodenpads hängt von der zu behandelnden Oberfläche ab.
Für den Bereich oberhalb der Lippen stehen spezielle Elektrodenpads zur Ver-
fügung.
Wenn es jedoch dem zu behandelnden Körperbereich entsprechend möglich
ist, wird empfohlen, immer die großen Elektrodenpads (50 x 90 mm) zu ver-
wenden (Ausnahme: Gesicht).

WARNUNG
HINWEISE UND VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN ZUR REGULIERUNG
DER STROMSTÄRKE
Die Verwendung des Gleichstroms bedingt den Elektrolyseeffekt.
Aus diesem Grund muss die Stromstärke unbedingt so ausgewählt
werden, dass keine Hautreizungen oder -verbrennungen entstehen.
Beginnen Sie stets mit der kleinsten Einstellung.
Erste Behandlung:
Es wird geraten, in jedem Fall die erste Behandlung auf der Stufe 1
durchzuführen.
Folgebehandlungen:
Stellen Sie das Gerät auf den kleinsten Wert ein, bei dem der Strom
und ein Wärmegefühl wahrgenommen werden.
Während der Behandlung nimmt für gewöhnlich das Wärmegefühl
zu. Reduzieren Sie dann die Stromstärke, um die Behandlung so
angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten.
Da die Empfindlichkeit von Haut und Gewebe bei Gleichstrom je
nach Patient unterschiedlich ist, wird für die ersten Behandlungen
empfohlen, nach zwei Minuten den Grad der Hautrötung zu prüfen.
Schalten Sie dazu das Gerät ab und heben Sie kurz die Elektroden
an. Als akzeptabel gilt ein Rötungsgrad, wenn die Rötung kaum
sichtbar ist. Ist die Rötung gut sichtbar, muss die Stromstärke redu-
ziert werden. Am Ende der Behandlung ist eine leichte Rötung der
Haut normal. Die Rötung klingt im Laufe einiger Stunden ab.
Gesicht und Leistengegend (Programm "Bikinizone") sind besonders
empfindlich und reizbar. Hier darf der Strom während der ersten
Behandlungen nicht zu stark sein, so dass die Reaktion der Haut
abgeschätzt werden kann. In den meisten Fällen reicht es, den
Strom auf Stufe 1 einzustellen.
In den meisten Fällen spürt der Patient nichts oder höchstens ein
leichtes Kribbeln. Allerdings darf die Behandlung nicht unangenehm
oder schmerzhaft werden. Die Wahrnehmung von Strom und
Wärme muss "kaum wahrnehmbar" sein.
Sofern auch die niedrigste Stromzufuhr zu einer beträchtlichen
Hautrötung führt, wird geraten, die Behandlung zu unterbrechen
und sich die Meinung von qualifiziertem Personal einzuholen. Eine
leichte Hautrötung gilt als normal.
Das Gerät schaltet sich nach Ablauf der regulären Programmdauer automatisch
ab. Muss das Programm vorzeitig beendet werden, wird das Gerät ausge-
schaltet, indem Sie die Ein-/Aus-Taste
drücken.
Wird das Gerät eingeschaltet, jedoch kein Programm gestartet, schaltet es sich
nach 5 Minuten automatisch ab.

Wurde die gewünschte Stromstärke eingestellt, können die Tasten blockiert
werden, um ein versehentliches Drücken zu vermeiden. Dazu drücken Sie ca.
drei Sekunden lang die Sperr-Taste
. Es ertönt ein langer Signalton und im
Display erscheint das Schlüsselsymbol. Das bedeutet, dass alle Tasten außer der
Ein-/Aus-Taste blockiert sind. Sind die Tasten blockiert, lässt sich weder die
Stromstärke erhöhen/verringern noch das Programm wechseln. Um die Tasten
zu entsperren, drücken Sie wieder drei Sekunden lang die Sperr-Taste
;
begleitet von einem langen Signalton, verschwindet das Schlüsselsymbol, und
alle Tasten können wieder verwendet werden.
Nach der Behandlung werden die selbst haftenden Elektrodenpads abgenom-
men und gereinigt (siehe Kapitel 4.1).
Nach der Epilation kann eine feuchtigkeitsspendende Lotion aufgetragen
werden, um die Haut zu entspannen.
Die Behandlung sollte einmal wöchentlich durchgeführt werden. Die ersten
Ergebnisse zeigen sich nach einigen Behandlungswochen und lassen sich durch
längere regelmäßige Anwendung steigern. Die Dauer der Behandlung hängt
von dem zu behandelnden Bereich und der Beschaffenheit der Haare ab.
Was ist passiert, wenn die Stromstärke sofort auf 0 zurückkehrt,
sobald sie erhöht wurde?
Das Gerät verfügt über eine Steuerung der Stromversorgung. Wird die Strom-
stärke erhöht und der Stromkreis ist geöffnet, setzt das Gerät die Stromstärke
auf 0 zurück. In diesem Fall muss vor einer Behandlung zuerst sichergestellt
werden, dass die Kabel angeschlossen sind sowie die Elektrodenpads auf dem
zu behandelnden Bereich korrekt haften und nicht zu sehr abgenutzt sind, da
dies die Leitfähigkeit beeinträchtigt.
Welche Elektroden dürfen verwendet werden?
Es wird empfohlen, selbst haftende Elektrodenpads zu verwenden, die eine
bessere Stimulierung ermöglichen und einfacher zu handhaben sind. Die Elek-
trodenpads müssen aber immer dann ausgewechselt werden, wenn sie nicht
mehr korrekt auf der Haut haften bleiben. Verwenden Sie nur MEDISANA
Original-Elektrodenpads.
Wo dürfen die Elektrodenpads positioniert werden?
In dieser Gebrauchsanweisung werden die Positionen für die Elektrodenpads auf
den jeweiligen Körperzonen bildlich dargestellt (siehe Kapitel 3.5). Es genügt
also, diesen Hinweisen zu folgen.
Ist die Anwendung des Geräts bei Krankheitsbildern der Haut
wie Psoriasis, Nesselsucht usw. verboten?
Ja, es wird strikt davon abgeraten, Hautbereiche zu behandeln, die schwere
Krankheitsbilder aufweisen.

• Entfernen Sie die Batterien, bevor Sie das Gerät reinigen.
• Verwenden Sie nie aggressive Reinigungsmittel wie
Verdünnungsmittel,
Benzin, Kerosin, Alkohol oder chemische Produkte.
• Verwenden Sie keine starken Bürsten.
Zur Reinigung von Gerät und Kabel
genügt ein weicher, leicht feuchter Lappen.
• In das Gerät darf kein Wasser eindringen. Benutzen Sie das Gerät erst wieder,
wenn es völlig trocken ist.
• Setzen Sie das Gerät nicht der direkten Sonneneinstrahlung oder hohen
Temperaturen aus, schützen Sie es vor Staub, Schmutz und Feuchtigkeit.
Schützen Sie es zudem vor Stößen und lassen Sie es nicht herunter fallen.
• Bewahren Sie die Elektrodenpads zwischen den Anwendungen auf der
Schutzfolie in einem Aufbewahrungsbeutel an einem kühlen und trockenen
Ort auf.
•
Die selbst haftenden Elektrodenpads dürfen sich nicht berühren und nicht
übereinanderliegen. Vergewissern Sie sich vor jeder Anwendung, dass die
Kabel und Elektrodenpads korrekt gereinigt wurden. Sind die Kabel abgenutzt,
dürfen sie nicht mehr verwendet werden, sondern müssen durch Originalteile
ersetzt werden. Verwenden Sie nur Elektrodenpads, die vom Hersteller gelie-
fert werden.
• Die Elektrodenklebefähigkeit verringert sich langsam nach 20–30 Anwen-
dungen, da Hautpartikel auf dem Gel abgelagert werden. Um die Haftfähig-
keit zu erhalten, halten Sie die Elektrodenpads für einige Sekunden unter
kaltes fließendes Wasser und schütteln sie danach trocken. Vor erneutem
Gebrauch lassen Sie die Elektrodenpads mindestens 8 Stunden auf der
Schutzfolie ruhen.
• Nehmen Sie die Batterien aus dem Gerät, wenn Sie es längere Zeit nicht
benutzen möchten. Es besteht sonst die Gefahr, dass die Batterien auslaufen.
• Im Falle von Störungen reparieren Sie das Gerät nicht selbst. Es erlischt dann
nicht nur jeglicher Garantieanspruch, sondern es können ernsthafte Gefahren
entstehen (Feuer, elektrischer Schlag, Verletzung). Lassen Sie Reparaturen nur
von autorisierten Servicestellen durchführen.
• Das Gerät und sein Zubehör werden in der dazugehörigen Tasche aufbe-
wahrt.

Bitte wenden Sie sich im Garantiefall an Ihr Fachgeschäft oder direkt an die
Servicestelle. Sollten Sie das Gerät einschicken müssen, geben Sie bitte den
Defekt an und legen eine Kopie der Kaufquittung bei.
Es gelten dabei die folgenden Garantiebedingungen:
1. Auf MEDISANA Produkte wird ab Verkaufsdatum eine Garantie für drei
Jahre gewährt. Das Verkaufsdatum ist im Garantiefall durch die Kauf-
quittung oder Rechnung nachzuweisen.
2. Mängel infolge von Material- oder Fertigungsfehlern werden innerhalb der
Garantiezeit kostenlos beseitigt.
3. Durch eine Garantieleistung tritt keine Verlängerung der Garantiezeit,
weder für das Gerät noch für ausgewechselte Bauteile, ein.
4. Von der Garantie ausgeschlossen sind:
a. alle Schäden, die durch unsachgemäße Behandlung, z.B. durch Nicht-
beachtung der Gebrauchsanleitung, entstanden sind.
b. Schäden, die auf Instandsetzung oder Eingriffe durch den Käufer oder
unbefugte Dritte zurückzuführen sind.
c. Transportschäden, die auf dem Weg vom Hersteller zum Verbraucher

5. Eine Haftung für mittelbare oder unmittelbare Folgeschäden, die durch das

Tips for your well-being
Do not use the device in the following cases or areas:
• on the front part of the neck (carotid sinus)
• on patients with a pacemaker
• to stimulate the brain region
• in case of pains where the cause is not known
• in case of irritated skin, wounds on the skin or skin infections
• on recent scars
• during pregnancy
• around the eyes or genitals; use on these areas is absolutely prohibited
• in case of metal implants (including the contraceptive coil)
• in areas with reduced sensitivity
• on prosthetic limbs and/or metal dental equipment (for “moustache” treat-
ment)
• on lips; it is absolutely prohibited to position the electrodes on the lips.

If the patient has any health problems, you may not use the device without
prior consultation with the doctor.
• The treatment should not be painful.
If you feel pain or feel the application
unpleasant, stop it and consult your doctor.

The skin may not be damaged in any way (skin should not be shaved before
the first treatment, in order to prevent any micro-cuts caused by the razor).

The use of deodorant or perfume is not permitted until 24 hours after
epilating.
Always observe the following points

Only use the device in accordance with its intended use according to the
operating instructions.
• The warranty will be invalidated if the device is used for purposes other than
those for which it is intended.
• The device may only be used in conjunction with the accessories (electrodes,
cable) recommended by the manufacturer.
• Do not use the device if it is not working correctly, if it has been dropped
or has fallen into water or has been damaged.
• Do not operate the device in the vicinity of high-frequency transmitters,
e.g. microwave and short wave transmitters or radio transmitters. They may
impair the device’s ability to function.
•
Make sure that the user is not in contact with metal objects (e.g. chair or
seat).
•
Protect the device against damp. If, nonetheless, liquid does enter the
device, the batteries must be removed immediately and further use avoided.

Informations about the electrodes

It is normal for the skin to be slightly reddened after application; the redness
will disappear within a few hours. Do not use the unit again until the red-

Select shorter treatment times if skin irritations occur over a longer period of
treatment.

In case of more severe skin irritation, stop the treatment and consult a
physician.
•
Remove the remains of adhesives from the skin with soap and water. Do not
use alcohol or solvents.

In order to understand how hair can be permanently removed, one first has to
understand how it grows.
1) Hair comes from the hair follicles. One square centimetre of human skin can
contain between 60 and 500 follicles. A hair can grow from every follicle, but
the speed of growth varies for different follicles.
2) Every hair passes through a growth cycle, which is divided into the growth
phase, the transitional phase and the rest phase. During the growth phase (2
- 7 years), the hair grows approx. 0.3 mm every day. During the transition
phase (2 - 3 weeks), the hair root is separated from the nutrient supply, and
the hair is pushed towards the surface of the skin. During the rest phase (2 -
4 months), the hair sits loosely in the hair channel and then falls out.
3) Hair removal is only effective if the growth of the hair in the hair follicle can
be curbed or stopped.
4) It is often believed that the hairs appearing one week after epilating are the
same hairs as those that were removed, but in this case these are hairs that
stem from the neighbouring follicles.
5) For this reason, it is important to undergo the treatment one or two times
each week, as the first results only appear after a few weeks of treatment and
the effect increases through continuous application of the produce.

2.3
How does the
EPD hair removal
system work?
Normal epilators grip the hairs with their rotating disks, which work like small
tweezers, and rip them out along with the roots. This effect lasts for up to four
weeks.
The permanent hair removal performed by the MEDISANA hair removal system
EPD goes one step further. A gentle electric impulse from the electrodes attacks
the growth cells in the hair roots. The hair root is atrophied. After the hairs have
been pulled out, you are free from irritating hairs for a long time.
The MEDISANA device is supplied along with special self-adhesive electrode
pads for dif- ferent areas of the body. You can use this pain-free method where
you like.
During this electrolysis technique, a barely noticeably current is applied to the
basis of the hair follicle. A chemical reaction causes the nutrition supply to be
cut off. Renewed growth is strongly delayed - so the technology treats not only
visible hairs, but also destroys the root bit by bit for long-lasting epilation. It is
important that the hair is in its growth phase.

Remove the lid from the battery compartment
on the back of the device.
Insert the four enclosed batteries (type AAA (LR03), 1.5 V). Pay attention to the
polarity of the batteries as indicated in the diagram in the battery compartment.
Replace the lid of the battery compartment.
When the batteries become weaker, the battery symbol

lights up. If the device does not go on after pressing the ON/OFF switch

Do not disassemble batteries!
• Remove discharged batteries from the device immediately!
• Increased risk of leakage, avoid contact with skin, eyes and
mucous membranes! If battery acid comes in contact with skin,
rinse the affected area with copious amounts of fresh water
and seek medical attention immediately!
• If a battery has been swallowed seek medical attention
immediately!
• Replace all of the batteries simultaneously!
• Only replace with batteries of the same type, never use different
types of batteries together or used batteries with new ones!
• Insert the batteries correctly, observing the polarity!
• Remove the batteries from the device if it is not going to be
used for an extended period!
• Keep batteries out of children's reach!
• Do not attempt to recharge these batteries! There is a danger of
explosion!
• Do not short circuit! There is a danger of explosion!
• Do not throw into a fire! There is a danger of explosion!
• Do not throw used batteries into the household refuse; put
them in a hazardous waste container or take them to a battery
collection point, at the shop where they were purchased!
Cable connection
The device is switched off. To connect the device, push the device plug of the
cable
into the corresponding socket on the device. Plug the red plug (+) into
the red socket, and the black plug (
-
) in the black socket on the device.
Attaching the electrodes
The device is switched off. Remove the carrier film with the two electrode pads
from the transport bag. Plug the two electrode plugs at the other end of the
cable
into the sockets on the electrodes. Leave the electrode pads on the
carrier film for protection while doing this.

Placing the
electrodes
Before the first treatment, we recommend you clean the skin with an alco-
hol-free cleanser to remove any remains of grease, make-up etc. Dry the skin
thoroughly.
Treatment may only be applied to healthy skin. The treatment may be per-
formed on epilated and non-epilated skin. Hair need not be visible for the
electrolysis epilation to be performed (the growth phase begins when the hair is
still 4 mm underneath the skin).
Before placing the self-adhesive electrode pads
, please ensure that the
device is turned off.
Remove the protective film before attaching the self-adhesive electrode pads.
Keep the protective film carefully so that you can stick the electrode pads back
onto it after use.
Stick the electrode pads according to the illustration (see chapter 3.5) to the
part of your body where treatment is to be given. Position the electrode pads
on the areas of skin where you want to remove the hairs. Press the self-ad-
hesive electrode pads firmly onto the clean and dry skin. If the electrode pads
are not attached correctly, no current flow can be established, and the device
would switch itself off automatically a few seconds after a program is started
(see chapter 3.8).
WARNING
• Before you remove the electrode pads or place them elsewhere
on your body, always make sure that the device is turned off or
turn it off using the ON/OFF switch
!
• Only then remove the self-adhesive electrode pads carefully by
pushing your finger under the edge of the electrode pad and
lifting the electrode pad gently thereby. Never remove the
self-adhesive electrode pads by pulling the cables.
CAUTION
• For safe and hygienic storage stick the electrode pads back
onto the protective film.
• If the electrode pads
have to be replaced, please use only
original MEDISANA electrodes pads.
Once you have attached the adhesive electrode pads on the area of skin to be
epilated, you should proceed as described from chapter 3.6. The size of the
electrode pad depends on the surface that is to be treated. Special electrode
pads are supplied for the area above the lips. If the body area to be treated
allows, we recommend that you use the large electrode pad where possible
(50 x 90 mm) (exception: face).

WARNING
INFORMATION AND SAFETY MEASURES ON REGULATING THE
CURRENT STRENGTH
The electrolysis effect is created by continuous current. For this rea-
son, you have to select a current that will not irritate or burn the
skin.
Always begin with the lowest setting.
First treatment:
We recommend that the first treatment be performed at level 1.
Subsequent treatments:
Set the device to the lowest value at which the patient senses the
electricity and heat.
The sensation of heat usually increases during the treatment.
Reduce the current strength to make the treatment as pleasant as
possible.
As the sensitivity of skin and tissue to continuous current varies for
every patient, we recommend that you check the level of redness on
the skin after two minutes in the first treatment. To do this, switch
off the device and briefly lift the electrodes. The degree of redness
is acceptable if it is barely visible. If the redness is easily visible, you
have to reduce the current strength. It is normal for the skin to be
slightly red at the end of the treatment. This redness goes away
after a few hours.
The face and groin (“Bikini zone” program) are especially sensitive
and irritable. The current may not be too strong during the first
treatments, so that the reaction of the skin can be gauged. In most
cases, level 1 should be sufficient.
In most cases, the patient will feel nothing, or only a gentle prickle.
The treatment may not become unpleasant or painful. Current and
heat must be “barely noticeable”.
If even the lowest current level causes the skin to redden seriously,
we recommend that the treatment be interrupted and a qualified
person be consulted. A slight reddening of the skin is normal.
The device switches off automatically after the regular program duration has
elapsed. If you have to end the program early, switch the device off by pressing
the On/Off button
.
If the device is switched on and no program is started, the device will switch
itself off automatically after 5 minutes.

Once the required current has been set, it is possible to lock the buttons to
prevent them from being pressed accidentally. To do this, press and hold the
locking button
for approx. three seconds. A long signal tone sounds, and the
key symbol appears in the display. This means that all buttons apart from the
On/Off button are locked. When the buttons are locked, it is not possible to
adjust the current or change the program. To unlock the buttons, press and hold
the locking button
for three seconds again; a long signal tone sounds, the
key symbol disappears, and all buttons can be operated again.
After the treatment, remove the adhesive electrode pads and clean them (see
chapter 4.1).
After epilating, you can apply a moisturising lotion to relax the skin.
The treatment should be performed once a week. The first results appear after
a few weeks of treatment, and can be improved through long-term regular
application. The duration of the treatment depends on the area being treated,
and on the composition of the hairs.
What has happened if the current returns to 0 immediately
after being increased?
The device contains a current control. If the current is increased while the circuit
is open, the device resets the current to 0. In this case, you have to ensure that
the cables are connected, and that the self-adhesive electrode pads are attached
properly to the area to be treated and are not too worn, as this can reduce their
conductivity.
Which electrodes may be used?
We recommend using adhesive electrode pads, as they allow better stimulation
and are easier to handle. However, the electrode pads have to be replaced when
they no longer adhere properly to the skin.
Use only MEDISANA original self-adhesive electrode pads.
Where may the electrode pads be positioned?
This instruction manual illustrates the electrode positions for each body zone
(see chapter 3.5). Simply follow these instructions.
May this device be used on skin conditions such as psoriasis, hives etc?
No, it is not at all advisable to treat skin with serious skin disease.

Cleaning and
maintenance
• Remove the batteries before cleaning the unit.
• Never use aggressive cleaning agents such as
thinning agents, petrol,
kerosene, alcohol or chemical products.
• Do not use stiff brushes.
Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device and cables.
• Do not allow any water to get into the unit. Do not use the unit again until
it is completely dry.
• Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or to high temperatures and
protect it from dust, dirt and damp. Protect the device from jolts, and do not
drop it.
• Store the adhesive electrode pads between applications on the protective film
in a storage pouch in a cool dry place.
•
The
self-adhesive electrode pads
may not touch or lie above one another.
Before every application, make sure that the cables and
electrode pads
were
cleaned properly. If the cables are worn, they may no longer be used; replace
them with original parts. Use only self-adhesive electrode pads supplied by the
manufacturer.
• The effectiveness of the electrode pads gradually subsides after 20–30 appli-
cations due to skin deposits in the gel. To maintain the adhesiveness, hold the
electrode pads under cold running water for a few seconds and then shake
them dry. Before using the electrode pads again, leave them on the protec-
tive film for at least 8 hours.
• Remove the batteries from the unit if you do not plan on using it again
anytime in the near future. Otherwise, the batteries may start leaking.
•

All users are obliged to hand in all electrical or electronic devices, regardless

Warranty and
repair terms
Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of a claim under the
warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your
receipt and state what the defect is.
The following warranty terms apply:
1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is three years from date of
purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be
proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.
2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge
within the warranty period.
3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the
unit or for the replacement parts.
4. The following is excluded under the warranty:
a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-
observance of the user instructions.
b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or
unauthorised third parties.
c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to
the consumer or during transport to the service centre.
d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.
5. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit are

Comment
l’épilateur EPD
fonctionne-t-il?
Les épilateurs normaux saisissent les poils avec leurs rouleaux rotatifs qui
fonctionnent comme de petites pinces à épiler et les arrachent avec leur racine.
L’effet perdure jusqu’à quatre semaines.
L’épilation durable qu’offre l’épilateur EPD de MEDISANA fait un pas de plus. Les
cellules de croissance sont attaquées dans les racines des poils par un courant
électrique léger émis par des électrodes. Les racines pileuses se sclérosent. Après
l’extraction des poils, vous êtes à l’abri des poils importuns pendant longtemps.
Des électrodes spéciales pour différentes parties du corps sont livrées avec
l’appareil MEDISANA. Vous pouvez ainsi utiliser cette méthode indolore là où
vous le souhaitez.
Avec cette technique d’électrolyse, un courant imperceptible est transmis à la
base du follicule pileux. Une réaction chimique inhibe l’apport de substance
nutritive. La repousse est fortement ralentie - une technique qui ne traite pas
seulement les poils visibles mais détruit peu à peu la racine pour une épilation à
long terme. Il est important que les poils se trouvent en phase de croissance.

Raccordement du câble
L’appareil est déconnecté. Pour le raccordement, insérez le connecteur du câble
dans la douille correspondante sur l’appareil. Insérez le connecteur rouge (+)
dans la douille à marque rouge, le connecteur noir (
-
) dans la douille à marque
noire sur l’appareil.
Fixation des électrodes
L’appareil est déconnecté. Retirez le film portant les deux élektrodes du sachet de
transport. Insérez les deux connecteurs d’électrode de l’autre extrémité du câble
dans les douilles des électrodes. Par protection, les électrodes restent sur le film
support pendant cette opération.

Avant le premier traitement, il est recommandé de nettoyer la peau avec un
nettoyant sans alcool pour éliminer les résidus d’huile, de maquillage, etc. Séchez
bien la peau.
Le traitement ne doit être administré que sur une peau saine. Le traitement peut
être appliqué sur une peau épilée comme non épilée. Les poils ne doivent pas
impérativement être visibles pour appliquer l’épilation par électrolyse (la phase
de croissance commence quand le poil est encore 4 mm sous la peau).
Avant de placer les électrodes
, vous devez vous assurer que l’appareil est
bien éteint.
Retirez le film de protection des électrodes et conservez-le, vous en aurez de
nouveau besoin après l’utilisation des électrodes.
Positionnez les électrodes comme le représente l’illustration (voir chapitre 3.5),
sur la partie du corps que vous voulez renforcer. Placez les électrodes l’une après
l’autre sur les zones du corps que vous souhaitez débarrasser de leurs poils.
Appuyez fermement l’électrode sur la peau propre et sèche. Si les électrodes ne
sont pas correctement fixés, le courant électrique ne peut pas se former et
l’appareil s’éteint automatiquement au bout de quelques secondes au démar-
rage d’un programme (voir chapitre 3.8).
AVERTISSEMENT
• Avant de retirer les électrodes ou de les appliquer sur une
autre partie du corps, vérifiez toujours si l’appareil est éteint
ou éteignez-le, le cas échéant, en appuyant sur la touche
ON/OFF
!
• Retirez ensuite les électrodes avec précaution en les prenant
par les bords et en soulevant prudemment. Ne retirez jamais
une électrode en tirant sur le câble.
ATTENTION
• Recollez les électrodes sur leur film de protection pour les
ranger de manière sûre et hygiénique.
• Si vous devez remplacer les électrodes
, utilisez
exclusivement des électrodes MEDISANA.
Une fois que vous avez fixé les électrodes auto-adhésives sur la zone de peau à
épiler, procédez comme au chapitre 3.6. La taille des électrodes dépend de la
surface à traiter. Des électrodes spéciales sont prévues pour la zone au-dessus
des lèvres. Mais il est recommandé de toujours utiliser les grandes électrodes
(50 x 90 mm) (exception: visage) quand c’est possible sur la zone à traiter
concernée.

AVERTISSEMENT
INSTRUCTIONS ET MESURES PRÉVENTIVES DE RÉGULATION DE LA
PUISSANCE ÉLECTRIQUE
L’utilisation du courant continu détermine l’effet électrolytique. La
puissance électrique doit par conséquent être sélectionnée de
manière à ce qu’aucune irritation ou brûlure de la peau ne se
produise.
Commencez toujours par le plus petit réglage.
Premier traitement:
Il est recommandé de toujours appliquer le premier traitement au
niveau 1.
Traitements suivants:
Réglez l’appareil sur la valeur la plus basse à laquelle on perçoit le
courant et une sensation de chaleur.
La sensation de chaleur augmente généralement pendant le
traitement. Réduisez ensuite la puissance électrique pour rendre le
traitement aussi agréable que possible.
Comme la sensibilité de la peau et des tissus au courant continu est
différente selon les patients, il est recommandé de vérifier le degré
de rougissement de la peau au bout de deux minutes lors des
premiers traitements. Pour ce faire, éteignez l’appareil et soulevez
rapidement les électrodes. Le degré de rougissement acceptable est
lorsque la rougeur est à peine visible. Si la rougeur est bien visible, la
puissance électrique doit être réduite. Un léger rougissement de la
peau est normal à la fin du traitement. La rougeur s’estompe en
quelques heures.
Le visage et les zones lisière (programme “Maillot”) sont
particulièrement sensibles et irritables. Le courant ne doit pas être
trop fort dans ces zones lors des premiers traitements de manière à
pouvoir évaluer la réaction de la peau. Dans la plupart des cas, il suffit
de régler le courant sur niveau 1.
Dans la plupart des cas, le patient ne sent rien ou tout au plus une
légère démangeaison. En effet, le traitement ne doit pas être
désagréable ni douloureux. La sensation de courant et de chaleur doit
être “à peine perceptible”.
Si l’application du courant le plus faible entraîne un rougissement
considérable de la peau, il est recommandé d’interrompre le
traitement et de consulter l’avis d’un professionnel. Un léger
rougissement est considéré comme normal.
L’appareil s’arrête automatiquement après l’écoulement de la durée normale du
programme. Si le programme doit être interrompu prématurément, on arrête
l’appareil en appuyant sur la touche Marche/Arrêt
.
Si l’appareil est allumé mais qu’aucun programme n’est lancé, l’appareil s’éteint
automatiquement au bout de 5 minutes.

Une fois la puissance électrique souhaitée réglée, les touches peuvent être
bloquées pour éviter une activation intempestive. Pour ce faire, appuyez pendant
environ trois secondes sur la touche de blocage
. Un long signal sonore retentit
et le symbole de la clé s’affiche. Cela signifie que toutes les touches sont bloquées
sauf la touche marche/arrêt. Quand les touches sont bloquées, la puissance
électrique ne peut pas être augmentée/baissée et on ne peut pas changer de
programme. Pour débloquer les touches, appuyez à nouveau pendant trois
secondes sur la touche de blocage
; le symbole de la clé disparaît accompagné
d’un long signal sonore et toutes les touches peuvent à nouveau être utilisées.
On enlève et nettoie les électrodes auto-adhésives après le traitement (voir
chapitre 4.1).
Une lotion hydratante peut être appliquée après l’épilation afin de détendre la
peau.
Le traitement doit être appliqué une fois par semaine. Les premiers résultats
apparaissent après quelques semaines de traitement et augmentent si
l’application est régulière pendant une période prolongée. La durée du traitement
dépend de la zone à traiter et de la nature du poil.
Que se passe-t-il quand la puissance électrique revient immédiatement
à 0 dès qu’elle a été augmentée?
L’appareil dispose d’une commande de l’alimentation en courant. Si la puissance
électrique est augmentée et le circuit électrique est ouvert, l’appareil remet la
puissance électrique à 0. Dans ce cas, avant un traitement il faut d’abord s’assurer
que les câbles sont raccordés et que les électrodes adhèrent correctement à la
zone à traiter et ne sont pas trop usées car cela diminue la conductibilité.
Quelles électrodes peuvent-elles être utilisées?
Il est recommandé d’utiliser des électrodes auto-adhésives qui permettent une
meilleure stimulation et sont plus faciles à manipuler. Mais les électrodes doivent
toujours être changées quand elles n’adhèrent plus correctement à la peau.
N’utilisez que des électrodes originales MEDISANA.
Où les électrodes peuvent-elles être placées?
Les positions des électrodes sur les différentes zones corporelles sont représentées
dans le présent mode d’emploi (voir chapitre 3.5). Il suffit donc de suivre ces
instructions.
L’utilisation de l’appareil est-elle interdite en cas de maladies de peau
telles que le psoriasis, l’urticaire, etc.?
Oui, il est strictement décommandé de traiter les zones de peau qui présentent
de graves maladies.

• Enlever les piles avant de nettoyer l'appareil.
• N’utilisez jamais de nettoyants agressifs comme les
solvants, l’essence, le
kérosène, l’alcool ou les produits chimiques.
• N’utilisez pas de brosses dures.
Un chiffon doux légèrement humide suffit pour
nettoyer l’appareil et le câble.
• L'eau ne doit pas s'infiltrer dans le boîtier. Ne réutilisez l'appareil que lors-
qu'il est parfaitement sec.
• N’exposez pas l’appareil directement aux rayons solaires ou aux fortes tempé-
ratures, protégez-le des poussières, des salissures et de l’humidité. Protégez-
le des chocs et ne le laissez pas tomber.
• Entre les applications, conservez les électrodes sur le film protecteur dans un
sachet dans un lieu frais et sec.
•
Les électrodes ne doivent pas se toucher et ne doivent pas se superposer.
Assurez-vous avant chaque application que le câble et les électrodes ont été
correctement nettoyés. Quand les câbles sont usés, ils ne doivent plus être utilisés
mais doivent être remplacés par des pièces originales. N’utilisez que des
électrodes qui ont été fournis par le fabricant.
• L’adhérence des électrodes diminue lentement au bout de 20 à 30 applica-
tions, car des particules de peau se déposent sur le gel. Pour conserver leur
adhérence, passez les électrodes une à deux secondes sous l’eau courante
et secouez-les pour les sécher. Avant la prochaine utilisation, laissez les élec-
trodes reposer au moins 8 heures sur leur film de protection.
• Retirez les piles de l’appareil lorsque vous ne l’utilisez pas pendant une
période prolongée. Dans le cas contraire, les piles pourraient couler.
• En cas de panne, ne réparez pas vous-même l'appareil; une telle intervention
de votre part non seulement mettrait fin à vos droits à garantie mais peut
présenter également des risques non négligeables (feu, blessure, décharge

d’expédier l’appareil, veuillez indiquer le défaut constaté et joindre une
copie du justificatif d’achat.
Les conditions de garantie sont les suivantes:
1. Une garantie de trois ans à compter de la date d’achat est accordée
sur les produits MEDISANA. En cas d’intervention de la garantie, la
date d’achat doit être prouvée en présentant le justificatif d’achat ou la
facture.
2. Durant la période de garantie, les défauts liés à des erreurs de matériel ou

Un leggero arrossamento della pelle subito dopo l’uso dell’apparecchio è
normale e scompare nell’arco di poche ore. Riutilizzare l’apparecchio solo

cutanee, scegliere tempi più brevi.

Assicurarsi che i sacchetti d’imballaggio non siano alla portata

Per sapere come eliminare definitivamente i peli bisogna sapere come crescono.
1) I peli hanno origine nei follicoli piliferi. Su un centimetro quadrato di pelle
umana possono esserci fra 60 e 500 follicoli. Da ogni follicolo, con tempistiche
differenti, può originare un pelo.
2) Ogni pelo segue un ciclo di crescita che vede l’alternarsi di una fase di crescita,
una di transizione e una di quiescenza. Nella fase di crescita (2-7 anni) il pelo
cresce di 0,3 mm circa al giorno. Durante la fase transitoria (2 - 3 settimane),
la radice del pelo si distacca dal bulbo che fornisce sostanze nutritive e il pelo
viene spinto verso l’epidermide. Nella fase di quiescienza (2-4 mesi) il pelo si
trova libero all’interno del canale pilifero e successivamente cade.
3) L’epilazione è efficace solamente se è possibile inibire o impedire la crescita
del pelo nel canale pilifero.
4) In generale si crede che i peli che compaiono una settimana dopo l’epilazione
siano gli stessi che sono stati estirpati. Invece questi peli originano nei follicoli
limitrofi a quelli trattati.
5) È quindi importante eseguire l’epilazione una o due volte alla settimana, in
quanto i primi risultati si ottengono dopo alcune settimane di trattamento e
con l’applicazione costante del prodotto gli effetti aumentano gradualmente.

Come funziona
l’epilatore EPD?
I normali epilatori catturano i peli con le spirali rotanti, che fungono da pinzette,
estirpandoli alla radice. L’effetto può durare anche quattro settimane.
L’epilazione permanente con l’epilatore EPD di MEDISANA va oltre. Le cellule
responsabili della crescita del pelo vengono attaccate direttamente alla radice
pilifera con leggeri impulsi di corrente emessi dagli elettrodi. La radice del pelo
coagula. Dopodiché si procede con l’estrazione del pelo il quale non ricresce per
un lungo periodo di tempo.
Con l’apparecchio di MEDISANA vengono forniti degli speciali cuscinetti degli
elettrodi per le diverse zone del corpo. Potete quindi applicare questo metodo
indolore dove più preferite.
La tecnica di elettrolisi consiste nell’applicazione di una corrente quasi
impercettibile alla base del follicolo pilifero. Una reazione chimica impedisce
l’apporto di sostanze nutritive, ritardando notevolmente la ricrescita del pelo. È
molto importante che il pelo si trovi nella fase di crescita.

Collegamento del cavo
L’apparecchio è spento. Per collegare l’apparecchio, inserire la spina del cavo
nella relativa presa dell’apparecchio. Inserire la spina rossa (+) nella presa
dell’ap-parecchio contrassegnata in rosso e la spina nera (
-
) nella presa
contrassegnata in nero.
Fissaggio degli elettrodi
L’apparecchio è spento. Estrarre dalla borsina di trasporto la striscia con entrambi
i cuscinetti degli elettrodi. Inserire entrambi i connettori presenti sull’altra estremità
del cavo
nelle relative prese degli elettrodi. Gli elettrodi rimangono sulla
striscia, così da essere protetti.

Posizionamento
degli elettrodi
Prima del primo trattamento si consiglia di detergere la pelle con una lozione o
un sapone privo di alcol, per eliminare eventuali residui di olio, trucco ecc.
Asciugare bene la pelle.
Il trattamento deve essere eseguito solo sulla pelle sana, indipendentemente dal
fatto che sia depilata o meno. Per poter eseguire l’epilazione con l’elettrolisi, i
peli non devono essere visibili (la fase di crescita comincia, quando il pelo è ancora
a 4 mm sotto pelle).
Prima di applicare gli elettrodi
è assolutamente necessario verificare che
l’apparecchio sia spento.
Prima di applicare gli elettrodi toglierli dalla pellicola protettiva. Conservare
accuratamente questa pellicola, al fine di potervi fissare di nuovo gli elettrodi
dopo il loro utilizzo.
Fare aderire gli elettrodi nei punti del corpo da trattare come indicato nella
figura (vedere capitolo 3.5). Posizionare gli elettrodi uno dopo l’altro nelle zone
del corpo che si desidera depilare. Premere con forza gli cuscinetti degli elet-
trodi sulla pelle pulita e asciutta. Se gli cuscinetti degli elettrodi non vengono
fissati correttamente, non si genera alcun flusso di corrente, per tanto all’avvio
di un programma (vedere capitolo 3.8), l’apparecchio si spegne automatica-
mente dopo pochi secondi.
AVVERTIMENTO
• Prima di togliere gli cuscinetti degli elettrodi o di posizionarli su
un’altra parte del corpo, non dimenticare mai che l’apparecchio
deve essere spento, pertanto spegnerlo con il tasto ON/OFF
!
• Solo successivamente togliere gli cuscinetti degli elettrodi con
cautela, infilando il dito sotto il bordo degli stessi e staccandoli
delicatamente. Non togliere mai gli cuscinetti degli elettrodi
tirando i cavi.
ATTENZIONE
• Per conservare in modo sicuro e igienico gli cuscinetti degli
elettrodi, fissarli nuovamente sulla pellicola protettiva.
• Qualora si debbano sostituire degli cuscinetti degli elettrodi
,
utilizzare soltanto cuscinetti degli elettrodi originali MEDISANA.
Dopo aver fissato gli cuscinetti degli elettrodi autoadesivi sulla zona del corpo da
depilare, procedere come descritto nel capitolo 3.6. La dimensione degli
cuscinetti degli elettrodi dipende dalla superficie cutanea da trattare. Per la zona
soprastante le labbra sono a disposizione degli cuscinetti degli elettrodi speciali.
Se la zona del corpo da trattare lo consente, è sempre consigliabile utilizzare gli
cuscinetti degli elettrodi grandi (50 x 90 mm) (eccezione: il viso).

AVVERTENZA
INDICAZIONI E MISURE PRECAUZIONALI PER LA REGOLAZIONE
DELL’INTENSITÀ DI CORRENTE
L’uso della corrente continua causa l’effetto dell’elettrolisi. Per tanto
si è tenuti a scegliere l’intensità di corrente in modo da evitare
l’insorgere di irritazioni o ustioni cutanee.
Cominciare sempre con l’impostazione più bassa.
Primo trattamento:
si consiglia di eseguire sempre il primo trattamento al livello 1.
Trattamenti successivi:
impostare l’apparecchio sul valore più basso in cui la persona trattata
percepisce la corrente e la sensazione di calore.
Durante il trattamento è normale che aumenti la sensazione di calore.
In tal caso ridurre l’intensità di corrente, per rendere il trattamento il
più piacevole possibile.
Poiché la sensibilità della pelle e dei tessuti alla corrente continua
varia da paziente a paziente, durante le prime sedute si consiglia di
controllare il grado di arrossamento della pella dopo due minuti. A
tale scopo spegnere l’apparecchio e sollevare brevemente gli
elettrodi. Si considera accettabile un grado di arrossamento appena
visibile. Se l’arrossamento è ben visibile, è necessario ridurre
l’intensità della corrente. Al termine del trattamento un leggero
arrossamento della pelle è normale. L’arrossamento si attenua dopo
alcune ore.
Il viso e la zona inguinale (programma “zona bikini”) sono
particolarmente sensibili e irritabili. In queste zone la corrente che
viene applicata durante i primi trattamenti non deve essere troppo
forte, in modo da poter valutare la reazione della pelle. Spesso è
sufficiente impostare la corrente sul livello 1.
Nella maggior parte dei casi il paziente non percepisce niente o al
massimo sente un leggero formicolio. Il trattamento non deve però
essere fastidioso o doloroso. La sensazione della corrente e del calore
deve essere “appena percepibile”.
Se anche il livello più basso dell’alimentazione di corrente provoca
un arrossamento cutaneo significativo, interrompere il trattamento e
consultarsi con il personale qualificato. Un leggero arrossamento
della pelle è normale.
Trascorsa la regolare durata del programma, l’apparecchio si spegne automatica-
mente. Se il programma deve essere interrotto prima della fine, spegnere
l’apparecchio premendo il tasto on/off
.
Se si accende l’apparecchio, ma non si avvia nessun programma, l’apparecchio
si spegne automaticamente dopo 5 minuti.

Se è stata impostata l’intensità di corrente desiderata, è possibile bloccare i tasti
per evitare che vengano premuti involontariamente. A tale scopo tenere premuto
per circa tre secondi il tasto di blocco
. Viene emesso un segnale acustico
prolungato e sul display appare il simbolo di una chiave. Ciò significa che tutti i
tasti sono bloccati ad eccezione del tasto on/off. Se i tasti sono bloccati, non è
possibile aumentare/diminuire l’intensità della corrente e cambiare il programma.
Per sbloccare i tasti, premere di nuovo per tre secondi il tasto di sblocco
. Viene
emesso un segnale acustico prolungato e sparisce il simbolo della chiave, quindi
è possibile azionare di nuovo tutti i tasti.
Dopo il trattamento rimuovere gli cuscinetti degli elettrodi autoadesivi e pulirli
(vedere il capitolo 4.1).
Dopo l’epilazione è possibile applicare una lozione idratante, per rilassare la pelle.
Il trattamento dovrebbe essere eseguito una volta alla settimana. I primi risultati
si vedono dopo alcune settimane di trattamento e si amplificano con
l’applicazione regolare e prolungata. La durata del trattamento dipende dalla
zona da trattare e dalla qualità dei peli.
Alzando l’intensità della corrente, il valore è tornato subito su 0,
che cosa è successo?
L’apparecchio è dotato di un dispositivo di controllo dell’alimentazione della
corrente. Se viene aumentata l’intensità della corrente e il circuito elettrico è
aperto, l’apparecchio imposta l’intensità della corrente su 0. In questo caso, prima
di procedere con un trattamento assicurarsi che il cavo sia collegato e gli cuscinetti
degli elettrodi siano correttamente fissati sulla zona da trattare e non usurati, in
quanto ciò ne pregiudica la conduttività.
Quali elettrodi possono essere utilizzati?
Si consiglia di utilizzare cuscinetti degli elettrodi autoadesivi, che consentono una
stimolazione migliore e sono più agevoli da utilizzare. Gli elettrodi devono però
essere sostituiti ogni qualvolta non si attacchino più bene alla pelle.
Utilizzare solamente gli cuscinetti degli elettrodi originali di MEDISANA.
Dove devono essere posizionati gli cuscinetti degli elettrodi?
In queste istruzioni per l’uso vengono illustrate le posizioni degli cuscinetti degli
elettrodi sulle zone del corpo (vedere capitolo 3.5). È quindi sufficiente attenersi
alle indicazioni.
L’applicazione dell’apparecchio in presenza di affezioni cutanee,
quali psoriasi, orticaria ecc. è vietata?
Sì. Si sconsiglia caldamente di trattare le zone cutanee che presentano serie
patologie dermatologiche.

Pulizia e
manutenzione
• Prima di pulire l’apparecchio togliere le batterie.
• Non utilizzare detergenti aggressivi, quali
diluente, benzina, cherosene, alcol o
prodotti chimici.
• Non utilizzare spazzole ruvide.
Per pulire l’apparecchio e il cavo è sufficiente un
panno morbido e leggermente inumidito.
• L’acqua non deve penetrare nell’apparecchio. Utilizzare di nuovo l’appa-
recchio solo quando sia perfettamente asciutto.
• Non lasciare l’apparecchio esposto alla luce diretta del sole o vicino a fonti di
calore, proteggerlo dalla polvere, dallo sporco e dall’umidità. Proteggere
l’apparecchio da urti ed evitare che cada.
• Fra un’applicazione e l’altra mettere gli cuscinetti degli elettrodi sulla striscia
protettiva e riporli all’interno di una borsina adeguata in un luogo fresco e
asciutto.

non devono toccarsi e non devono
essere posti uno sopra l’altro. Prima di ogni applicazione assicurarsi che il cavo

forniti dal produttore.
• La capacità di aderire degli elettrodi si riduce lentamente dopo 20-30 appli-
cazioni poiché le particelle cutanee si depositano sul gel. Per mantenere
l’adesività, mettere gli cuscinetti degli elettrodi sotto l’acqua corrente fredda
per un secondo e asciugarli scuotendoli. Prima di riutilizzarli, lasciarli riposare
per almeno 8 ore sulla pellicola protettiva.
• Rimuovere le batterie dall’apparecchio se si prevede di non utilizzarlo per
molto tempo. Sussiste comunque il rischio che le batterie si scarichino.
• In caso di guasto non riparate l'apparecchio da soli. In questo modo non solo
cesserebbe ogni diritto ad usufruire della garanzia, ma potrebbero anche
nascere seri pericoli (incendi, scariche elettriche, ferite). Fate eseguire le ripa-
razioni solo da centri di assistenza tecnica autorizzati.
• L’apparecchio e i relativi accessori vengono custoditi nell’apposita borsa.

Indicaciones para su bienestar
No está permitido utilizar este aparato en los siguientes casos:

• en el caso de sufrir dolores sin causa conocida,
• en el caso de irritaciones, heridas y enfermedades cutáneas,
• en cicatrices recientes,
• durante el embarazo,
• en la zona genital y en el área de los ojos: aquí está terminantemente prohi-
bido utilizar este aparato,
• en el caso de implantes metálicos (incluido el DIU),
• en zonas de reducida sensibilidad,
• en el caso de prótesis o aparatos metálicos para los dientes (para el tratamien-
to del vello sobre el labio superior),
• en los labios: está terminantemente prohibido colocar los electrodos sobre los

Si se tienen problemas de salud, el aparato no se podrá utilizar sin consultar

• El tratamiento no debería causar nada de dolor. En caso de experimentar

No debe haber ninguna herida en la piel (antes del primer tratamiento no se
debe afeitar el vello para así evitar microcortes provocados por la máquina

Lo que Usted debe observar explícitamente
•
Utilice el aparato sólo según su uso previsto descrito en las instrucciones de
manejo.
• En caso de utilizarlo para fines distintos, ya no será aplicable la garantía.
• Con el aparato deben utilizarse únicamente los accesorios (electrodos,
cables) recomendados por el fabricante.
• No utilice el aparato si no funciona perfectamente, se ha caído al suelo o al
agua o se ha dañado.
• No haga funcionar el aparato en las cercanías de fuertes emisoras, como por

1 Indicaciones de seguridad
•
Este aparato no está concebido para ser utilizado por personas (niños inclui-
dos) con capacidad física, sensorial o psíquica disminuida o que no tengan la
experiencia ni los conocimientos necesarios para usarlo, a no ser que sean
vigilados por una persona responsable de su seguridad que les dé instruc-
ciones de cómo manejarlo.
•
Los niños deben estar vigilados para asegurarse de que no utilicen el apara-
to como juguete.
• En caso de desperfecto, no trate de repararlo usted mismo. En caso de
hacerlo, no sólo pierde toda validez la garantía sino que pueden sucitarse
serios peligros (incendio, descarga eléctrica, lesión). Mande reparar el aparato
a los centros de servicio autorizados.
Advertencias sobre los electrodos

Por razones higiénicas, procure que cada usuario utilice sus propias almoha-
dillas de electrodos.
• Utilice exclusivamente

cuya adherencia sea cor-
recta.

Coloque las almohadillas de electrodos sólo en los puntos señalados en estas
instrucciones.

No coloque las almohadillas de electrodos sobre el cuerpo mojado.

corazón o en la zona genital.

sobre cicatrices recientes, sobre piel
lesionada o infectada o en zonas de trombosis o cualquier otra dolencia
vascular (por ejemplo varices).

Evite el contacto con objetos puntiagudos o afilados.
•
Asegúrese de que las dos almohadillas de electrodos autoadhesivas no
entren en contacto. Esto podría poner el aparato en cortocircuito.
•
No utilice nunca cables de electrodo en mal estado o defectuosos pues
existe riesgo de descarga eléctrica.
•
No exponga los parches de electrodos a los rayos directos del sol.
•
Un ligero enrojecimiento de la piel es normal tras el tratamiento y desapa-
rece en pocas horas. No vuelva a utilizar el aparato hasta que no haya
desaparecido el enrojecimiento.
•
Si después de un período de tratamiento prolongado aparecen irrita- ciones
cutáneas, elija sesiones más cortas.
•
Si aparecen irritaciones severas en la piel en los puntos de aplicación del elec-
trodo interrumpa el tratamiento inmediatamente y consulte a su médico.
•
Los restos de adhesivo que queden en la piel los podrá eliminar con agua y
jabón. No utilice alcohol ni disolventes.

En caso de dudas, no ponga el aparato en funcionamiento y envíelo a un punto
de atención al cliente.

El embalaje es reutilizable o puede reciclarse. Deshágase del material de em-
balaje que no se necesite, siguiendo las normas pertinentes. Si al desembalar
observara algún daño causado durante el transporte, póngase inmediata-
mente en contacto con el comerciante.
ADVERTENCIA
¡Asegúrese de que los plásticos de embalaje no caigan en manos
de niños! ¡Existe el peligro de asfixia!
Para comprender cómo eliminar el vello de forma duradera, se ha de saber cómo
crece.
1) El pelo nace en los folículos pilosos. En un centímetro cuadrado de la piel de
una persona puede haber entre 60 y 500 folículos. De cada folículo puede
crecer un pelo, pero la velocidad de crecimiento varía según el folículo.
2) Cada pelo atraviesa un ciclo de crecimiento que consta de tres fases: fase de
crecimiento, fase de transición y fase de reposo. En la fase de crecimiento
(2 - 7 años) el pelo crece aprox. 0,3 mm cada día. Durante la fase de transi-
ción (2 - 3 semanas), la raíz del pelo deja de recibir nutrientes y el pelo crece
hacia la superficie de la piel. En la fase de reposo (2 - 4 meses) el pelo ya no
queda suelto en el canal del pelo y finalmente se cae.
3) La eliminación del vello sólo es efectiva si se puede frenar o detener el creci-
miento del folículo piloso.
4) Por lo general, se cree que el vello que vuelve a salir una semana después de
la epilación es el mismo que se habían eliminado, pero en este caso se trata
de vello procedente de folículos vecinos.
5) Por ello, es importante someterse a este tratamiento una o dos veces por
semana, ya que los primeros resultados se obtienen tras unas semanas de
tratamiento y el efecto aumenta paulatinamente por medio del uso conti-
nuado del producto.

¿Cómo funciona
el sistema de
eliminación de
vello EPD?
Los aparatos normales de epilación agarran el vello con los cabezales rotativos,
que actúan como pinzas, y los arrancan de raíz. El efecto dura hasta cuatro
semanas.
La eliminación duradera del vello con el sistema de eliminación de vello EPD de
MEDISANA va un paso más allá. Con un suave impulso de corriente a través de
los electrodos, se ataca a las células de crecimiento en la raíz del pelo. De esta
forma se destruye la raíz. Tras arrancar finalmente el vello, tardará un buen
tiempo antes de que vuelva a salir a la superficie.
Con el aparato de MEDISANA se incluyen almohadillas de electrodos especia-
les para distintas zonas del cuerpo. De esta forma, podrá utilizar este método
indoloro en la parte que desee.
Con la técnica de la electrolisis se transmite a la base del folículo piloso una
corriente apenas perceptible. Una reacción química se encarga de interrumpir el
suministro de nutrientes. El nuevo proceso de crecimiento se ve fuertemente
retardado. Esta técnica, por tanto, no sólo elimina el vello visible, sino que
además va destruyendo poco a poco la raíz, obteniéndose así una depilación
duradera. Para ello es importante que el vello se encuentre en la fase de
crecimiento.

las baterías

Conectar el cable
y los electrodos
Retire la tapa del compartimento de las pilas
en la parte trasera del aparato.
Inserte las cuatro pilas suministradas (tipo AAA (LR03), 1,5 V). Observe la pola-
ridad de las pila (figura en la cámara para las pilas). Vuelva a colocar la tapa del
compartimento de las pilas.
Si las pilas están casi gastadas se enciende el símbolo de pilas
en el display
. Si el aparato no se enciende tras haber pulsado la tecla ON/OFF
cambie
por favor las pilas gastadas por pilas nuevas.
ADVERTENCIA ADVERTENCIAS DE SEGURIDAD SOBRE LAS PILAS
•
¡No desmonte las baterías!
• ¡Retire inmediatamente las baterías descargadas!
• ¡Peligro elevado de fuga del líquido; evite el contacto con la piel,
los ojos y las mucosas! ¡En caso de contacto con el ácido de las
baterías, lave inmediatamente las zonas afectadas con agua
limpia y abundante y vaya de inmediato al médico!
• ¡En el caso de que alguien se tragara una batería, habría que ir
inmediatamente al médico!
• ¡Cambie siempre todas las baterías al mismo tiempo!
• ¡Utilice solo baterías del mismo tipo, no use tipos diferentes o
mezcle baterías viejas y nuevas!
• ¡Coloque las baterías de forma correcta teniendo en cuenta la
polaridad!
• ¡Retire las baterías del aparato, si no lo va a utilizar durante un
tiempo!
• ¡Mantenga las baterías fuera del alcance de los niños!
• ¡No vuelva a cargar las baterías! ¡Peligro de explosión!
• ¡No las ponga en cortocircuito! ¡Peligro de explosión!
• ¡No las tire al fuego! ¡Peligro de explosión!
• ¡No tire las baterías usadas ni los acus en la basura doméstica
sino en la basura especial o en el recogedor de baterías de los
comercios especializados!
Conexión del cable
El aparato está apagado. Para llevar a cabo la conexión, inserte las clavija del
cable
en las hembrillas correspondientes del aparato. La clavija roja (+)se
inserta en la hembrilla marcada en rojo y la clavija negra (
-
), en la hembrilla mar-
cada en negro.
Fijación de los electrodos
El aparato está apagado. Extraiga la lámina soporte con las dos almohadillas de
electrodos de la bolsa de transporte. Conecte las dos clavijas de los electrodos
del otro extremo del cable
en las hembrillas de los electrodos. Los electrodos
deben permanecer en la lámina soporte para que queden protegidos.

Ubicación de
los electrodos
Antes de proceder al primer tratamiento se recomienda limpiar la piel con un
producto de limpieza exento de alcohol para eliminar los restos de aceite,
maquillaje, etc. Seque bien la piel.
El tratamiento sólo se puede llevar a cabo sobre una piel sana. Este tratamiento
se puede realizar sobre piel depilada y no depilada. No es necesario que el vello
sea visible para llevar a cabo una epilación por electrolisis (la fase de crecimien-
to comienza cuando el vello todavía está 4 mm por debajo de la piel).
Por favor asegúrese de que el aparato está desconectado antes de colocar los
electrodos
. Antes de colocar las almohadillas de electrodos retire las láminas
protectoras. Guarde bien estas láminas protectoras con el fin de poder pegarlas
nuevamente a las almohadillas de electrodos después del uso de los mismos.
Pegue las almohadillas de electrodos a la parte de su cuerpo donde deba ser
efectuado el tratamiento según se indica en la figura (ver cap. 3.5). Coloque las
almohadillas de electrodos uno a uno en las zonas del cuerpo de las que desee
eliminar el vello. Para ello presione los electrodos firmemente a la zona de la piel
limpia y seca. Si las almohadillas de electrodos no están correctamente sujetos,
no se puede producir ningún flujo de corriente y el aparato se apagaría auto-
máticamente pocos segundos después de haberse iniciado un programa (ver
cap. 3.8).
ADVERTENCIA
• Antes de retirar las almohadillas de electrodos o colocarlas en
otra zona corporal asegúrese siempre de que el aparato esté
desconectado o apáguelo pulsando la tecla ON/OFF
!
• Sólo después retire por favor las almohadillas de electrodos
con cuidado deslizando el dedo por debajo del borde del
electrodo y levantándolo suavemente. No retire nunca las
almohadillas de electrodos tirando de los cables.
ATENCIÓN
• Para el almacenamiento seguro e higiénico pegue la lámina
protectora a las almohadillas de electrodos nuevamente.
• En caso de tener que reponer las almohadillas de electrodos
utilice por favor exclusivamente almohadillas de electrodos
originales de MEDISANA.
Después de haber fijado las almohadillas de electrodos autoadhesivas a la zona
de la piel que se va a epilar, proceda de la forma descrita a partir del capítulo
3.6. El tamaño de las almohadillas de electrodos depende de la superficie que
se vaya a tratar. Para la zona situada sobre los labios se dispone de almohadi-
llas de electrodos especiales. En los casos en los que la zona del cuerpo lo per-
mita, se recomienda utilizar siempre las almohadillas de electrodos grandes (50
x 90 mm) (con excepción de la cara).

Encienda el aparato pulsando durante aprox. tres segundos la tecla de encendi-
do/apagado
hasta que suene una señal acústica. Primeramente aparecen

NOTAS Y MEDIDAS PREVENTIVAS PARA REGULAR LA
INTENSIDAD DE CORRIENTE
El uso de corriente continua condiciona el efecto de la electrolisis.
Por este motivo, se debe seleccionar la intensidad de corriente de tal
forma que no se puedan producir irritaciones o quemaduras de la
piel. Comience siempre con el ajuste más bajo.
Primer tratamiento:
En cualquier caso, se aconseja realizar el primer tratamiento en el
nivel 1.
Tratamientos siguientes:
Ajuste el aparato al nivel mínimo con el que se percibe la corriente
y sensación de calor.
Durante el tratamiento generalmente aumenta la sensación de
calor. Reduzca la intensidad de corriente para que el tratamiento
resulte lo más agradable posible.
Dado que la sensibilidad de la piel y el tejido difiere según la perso-
na, en los primeros tratamientos se recomienda comprobar el grado
de enrojecimiento de la piel después de dos minutos. Para ello, apa-
gue el aparato y levante brevemente los electrodos. Se considera
aceptable un grado de enrojecimiento apenas visible. Si el enrojeci-
miento se ve claramente, se debe reducir la intensidad de corriente.
Al final del tratamiento es normal que la piel presente un leve enro-
jecimiento. Este enrojecimiento va desapareciendo en el transcurso
de unas pocas horas.
El rostro y la zona de las ingles (programa “zona del bikini”) son
especialmente sensibles e irritables. En estas zonas, la corriente no
debe ser demasiado alta durante los primeros tratamientos para que
así se pueda estimar la reacción de la piel. En la mayoría de los casos
es suficiente regular la corriente al nivel 1.
Generalmente, la persona que recibe el tratamiento no nota nada
o sólo un ligero cosquilleo. El tratamiento no debe resultar desagra-
dable ni doloroso. La corriente y el calor apenas deben ser percepti-
bles.
Si el nivel más bajo de corriente provoca un considerable enrojeci-
miento de la piel, se aconseja interrumpir el tratamiento y consultar
a personal cualificado. Un leve enrojecimiento se considera normal.
Tras haber transcurrido la duración regular del programa, el aparato se apaga
automáticamente. Si desea finalizar el programa antes de tiempo, pulse la tecla
.
Si se enciende el aparato pero no inicia ningún programa, éste se apaga auto-
máticamente transcurridos 5 minutos.
