prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your

• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs,
convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
• Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
• Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods
of time.
• Turning off the power switch does not completely isolate this product from the
power line so remove the plug from the socket if not using it for extended periods
of time.
• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the
apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is
damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the

une période prolongée, débranchez-le du secteur.
• La mise sur OFF de l'interrupteur d'alimentation n'isole pas totalement ce produit
de la ligne secteur; aussi, retirez la fiche de la prise s'il doit rester inutilisé pendant
une période prolongée.
• Confiez tout travail de réparation uniquement à un S.A.V. qualifié. Faites appel
au S.A.V. si l'appareil a subi tout endommagement, comme par exemple si sa
fiche secteur ou son cordon d'alimentation sont endommagés, si de l'eau ou des
objets ont pénétré à l'intérieur de l'appareil, si celui-ci a été exposé à la pluie ou
à la moisissure, s'il est tombé ou présente tout signe de dysfonctionnement.
• N'utilisez jamais d'allonge trop longue avec cet appareil et ne l'alimentez jamais

Der als Pfeil dargestellte Blitz in einem Dreieck weist den Anwender
auf nicht isolierte, “gefährliche Spannungen” im Geräteinneren hin, die
so stark sein können, dass sie einen Stromschlag verursachen.
Das Ausrufezeichen in einem Dreieck weist den Anwender darauf hin,
dass zum Lieferumfang des Gerätes wichtige Bedien- und
Wartungshinweise (eventuell Reparaturhinweise) gehören.
Das CE-Zeichen
Vor dem 31.12.1996 vergebene CE-Zeichen auf unseren netzgespeisten
Geräten zeigen an, daß diese Geräte gemäß der EMC-Richtlinie (89/336/EWG)
und der CE-Richtlinie (93/68/EWG) der EU arbeiten.
Nach dem 01.01.1997 vergebene CE-Zeichen auf unseren netzgespeisten
Geräten zeigen an, daß diese Geräte gemäß der EMC-Richtlinie (89/336/EWG),
der CE-Richtlinie (93/68/EWG) und der Niederspannungsstromrichtlinie (73/
23/EWG) der EU arbeiten.
Die CE-Zeichen auf unseren batteriegespeisten Geräten zeigen an, daß diese
Geräte gemäß der EMC-Richtlinie (89/336/EWG) und der CE-Richtlinie (93/
68/EWG) der EU arbeiten.

1POWER switch
Turn down the volume of the connected amp, and press this switch to turn
on the power. The power will be turned on/off each time you press the switch.
2INPUT 1 jack
Connect the instrument to this jack. If you insert a plug into this jack, the rear
panel INPUT jack (the INPUT 1 jack on the DTR-2000) cannot be used.
3MUTE switch / jack
This switches muting on/off. When muting is on, the indicator beside the
switch (the Mute indicator on the ) will light, and the sound fromDTR-2000
the OUTPUT jack will be silenced.
You can also connect a latch-type (alternate-type) switch to the MUTE jack
and use it to switch muting on/off.
4Tuning meter
This area indicates the difference between the reference pitch and the input
pitch.
5Note name display (multi LED, sharp indicator)
The multi LED and sharp () will indicate the note name that is closest to the
pitch that you input. The calibration setting and number of flats (and string
number on the ) will also be displayed.DTR-2000
6FLAT switch (Flat tuning switch)
This turns Flat Tuning (semitone-lowered tuning) on/off and specifies the
amount by which to lower the pitch (maximum of 7 flats). When this is on,
the indicator beside the switch will light.
7CALIB switch (Calibration switch)
Press this when you want to adjust the standard pitch (A4=440 Hz) for tuning.
8DISPLAY switch (Display select switch)
The tuning meter display will change each time you press this switch.
On the , you can press this switch simultaneously with theDTR-2000
CHROMATIC switch to enter Sound mode.
9Rack installation holes
As shown in the diagram, you can use
the included screws, insulating washers,
and insulating bushings to install the
DTR-2000/1000 in an EIA-standard rack.
DTR-2000 only:
0INPUT select switch
This switch selects whether to use the INPUT 1 or the INPUT 2 jack.
The input indicator will light to indicate the jack you selected. When you
turn on the power, will be selected.INPUT 1
AMIC
You can use this mic to tune acoustic instruments.
If you want to use the mic, use the INPUT SELECT switch to select an
INPUT jack that is not connected, and turn Mute on.
BLIGHT switch
This is an on/off switch for the lamp located in the lower middle of the front
panel.
CMeter unit display
This will indicate the units ( or ) that you have selected for theCENT Hz
tuning meter.
DINPUT 1, 2 indicators (Input jack indicators)
These will light to indicate the input jack ( or ) that is currently selected.1 2
EMUTE indicator
This will light when Mute is on.
FSOUND indicator
This will light when you enter Sound mode.

GTuning mode indicator
This will light to indicate the currently selected tuning mode.
HMODE switch
Use this switch to select a tuning mode other than Chromatic.
ICHROMATIC switch
Use this switch to move to Chromatic mode from another tuning mode.
You can press this switch simultaneously with the DISPLAY switch to enter
Sound mode.

1INPUT 1, 2 jacks
Connect the instrument you wish to tune to these jacks. However if a plug is
inserted in the front panel input jack, this jack (INPUT 1 on the DTR-2000)
cannot be used.
2OUTPUT jack
Connect this jack to your amp or mixer. It will output the sound that is input
from the INPUT 1, 2 jack.
3DTR-2000 only: SOUND jack
Connect this jack to your amp or mixer. In Sound Out mode, a reference tone
will be output from this jack.
4MUTE jack
You can connect a latch-type (alternate-type) switch to this jack, and use it
to switch muting on/off. However, this jack cannot be used if the front panel
MUTE jack is being used.
5DTR-2000 only: INPUT SELECT jack
You can connect a latch-type (alternate-type) switch to this jack, and use it
to switch between and INPUT 1 2.
6~ACV connector (Power supply connector)
Connect the included power cable to this connector. Then plug the other end
into an AC outlet.
Tuning procedure
On the you can use the tuning meter to perform chromatic tuning. DTR-1000
On the you can use the tuning meter or a reference pitch to tune inDTR-2000
eight different modes (refer to "Tuning modes" on the following page).
Tuning may not be possible if your instrument has an excessively high output
level. In this case, lower the output level of the instrument that you are tuning
Connections
If you want to tune an electric guitar or bass, plug it into the INPUT 1, 2 jack.
The DTR-2000 has INPUT 1 and 2 jacks. Use the toINPUT SELECT switch
select the jack that you are using.
If you want to tune an acoustic instrument, use a contact mic (CM-100: sold
separately).
On the if you use the DTR-2000 INPUT SELECT switch to select the unused
INPUT jack and then turn Mute on, you will be able to tune using the built-in mic.
If you use the internal mic, place your instrument as close to the DTR-2000's
mic as possible. Also be careful that the mic does not pick up sounds other than
the instrument that is being tuned.
Tuning with the meter
1. Use the DISPLAY switch to select the type of tuning meter display.
CENT display
The display will show a range of -50 cents +50 cents. Tune your instrument–
so that the 0 ( ) in the center of the meter is lit.▲
STROBE display
Tune your instrument so that the bars in the meter stop moving.
DTR-2000 only: Hz display
The display will show a range of -6 Hertz +6 Hertz. Tune your instrument so–
that the 0 ( ) in the center of the meter is lit. If the pitch of your instrument is▲
outside the range of the display, the meter will be darker.
2. As necessary, change the calibration or flat settings.
