3. To reset ALCI with a reset button, unit
should be unplugged. Then push in reset
button, and reinsert plug into outlet.
4. If ALCI is not functioning properly, return
appliance to nearest service center.
5. It is important that if immersion occurs, this
unit be brought to a service center. Do not try
to reset.
6. Be sure to repeat test every time you use the
unit, to confirm ALCI is operational.
Should the appliance go off and the reset
button pop up during use, this could indicate
a malfunction in the unit. Remove plug from
outlet and allow the hot air styling iron to cool.

This appliance is intended for household use.
Use on Alternating Current (60 hertz) only.
Standard curling appliances are designed to
operate at 110 to 125 volts AC.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other). As a safety feature,
this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the
outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt
to defeat this safety feature.
CHECK ALCI SAFETY FEATURE EVERY TIME
YOU USE APPLIANCE
This appliance is equipped with an Appliance
Leakage Circuit Interrupter (ALCI), a safety
feature that renders it inoperable under some
abnormal conditions, such as immersion in
water.
To make sure the ALCI is functioning properly,
perform the following test. The purpose of this
test is to allow you to make sure the water
sensing system (ALCI) is working.
1. Plug in the appliance and press test button
on plug (see appropriate diagram).
2. The appliance will stop working. There
will be an audible click and the reset button
will pop out. This indicates the ALCI is func-
tioning properly.

The Big Curlsâą rollers slide onto the stylerÂŽs
tourmaline ceramic-coated barrel â the new-
est feature in hair care technology.
This technology means itâs not only simpler
to clean off styling product residue, etc., after
each use, but youâll find that hair glides easily
over the surface as youâre styling. The tourma-
line ceramic also helps smooth down flyaways
and frizzies. As you wind each strand around
the roller, heat is evenly distributed so that
the style you create has a salon-perfect, silky
smooth, shiny finish. Hair easily slips right off
the roller after itâs styled.
The new tourmaline ceramic technology is a
pleasure to work with. It makes styling your
hair easier and the results more professional.

1. To use with rollers, simply slide roller onto
barrel and lift up the spoon clip to secure the
roller in place. Turn the unit on to the desired
speed and temperature setting. Place the
ends of the hair in the roller teeth and wind
up toward the scalp. Roll hair firmly and
secure with a clip, then release the spoon
clip and gently slide the barrel away from the
roller. Repeat. Allow rollers to cool.
2. The tightness of the curl is determined by
several factors; heat-up time, diameter of
roller used, the amount of hair in the roller,
and the length of time the roller is left in the
hair. For tighter curls, use smaller rollers. For
longer-lasting curls, use high heat setting
and leave in hair for a longer period of time.
3. For soft, romantic curls and waves, use
larger rollers. After using your styler a few
times, you will find the best timing, heat
levels, and roller sizes needed to attain the
style you desire.
4. To remove rollers, take the clip off and
gently unwind hair from the roller. Let the
curl bounce back once the roller has been
removed. For a longer-lasting set, let cool for
a few minutes, then style as desired.

ing iron, or attach rollers for more volume and
curls of different sizes. The rollers easily slide

Your appliance is virtually maintenance free.
For proper performance, the appliance must
be kept clean. Blocked or clogged air intake
vents will cause the appliance to overheat.
When cleaning is needed, unplug the cord and
clean dust and lint from air intake openings.

wiped clean with a cloth only. If abnormal
