Weîreserve theîright for any errors in text or images and for making any necessary
technical changes to this document. Ifîyou should have any questions concerning
technical problems please contact our Customer Services.
Warning! Whenîusing an electric power tool, always observe theîgeneral safety rules
below, to avoid theîrisk of ïŹre, electric shock and injury. Readîthrough theîentire user
guide before using theîproduct and save theîuser guide for future reference. Always
unplug theîpower lead from theîsocket before servicing and adjusting theîproduct.
1. Safety
General safety instructions for rechargeable power tools
Warning! Readîthe entire user guide. Ifîthe instructions below are not followed, there
is aîrisk of electric shock, ïŹre and/or serious injury. Theîterm âpower toolâ in theîwar-
ning text below refers to your mains or battery powered hand tool.
KEEP THIS USER GUIDE.
1) Work area
a) Keep theîwork area clean and well lit. Accidentsîare more likely to happen in
cluttered and dark areas.
b) Do not use power tools in explosive environments, for example in theîpresence of
ïŹammable liquids, gases or dust. Powerîtools generate sparks which may ignite
dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away when you are operating theîpower tool.
You may lose control if you are distracted.
2) Electrical safety
a) The plug on theîpower tool must match theîwall socket. Neverîmodify theîplug in
any way. Neverîuse an adaptor plug with an earthed power tool. UsingîunmodiïŹed
plugs and matching wall sockets reduces theîrisk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed objects such as pipes, radiators, cookers or
refrigerators. Thereîis an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
c) Do not expose theîpower tool to rain or wet conditions. Ifîwater gets into
the power tool, theîrisk of electric shock is increased.
d) Do not mistreat theîmains lead. Neverîuse theîmains lead to carry or drag
the power tool or to unplug it. Keepîthe mains lead away from heat, oil, sharp
edges and moving parts. Damagedîor tangled mains leads increase theîrisk of
electric shock.

English
e) When operating aîpower tool outdoors, use an extension lead suitable for outdoor use.
Usingîan extension lead suitable for outdoor use reduces theîrisk of electric shock.
f) If you need to use aîpower tool in aîhumid location, connect theîtool to theîpower
supply via aîresidual current device (RCD). Usingîan RCD reduces theîrisk of
electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert and use common sense when using aîpower tool. Doînot use aîpower
tool if you are tired or under theîinïŹuence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
A moment of inattention when using aîpower tool may result in serious injury.
b) Useîsafety equipment. Alwaysîwear safety glasses. Usingîsafety equipment such
as aîdust mask, non-slip safety shoes, aîhard hat and ear protectors reduces
theîrisk of injury.
c) Avoidîstarting theîtool accidentally. Makeîsure that theîswitch is in theîOFF position
before you plug theîtool in. Youîcould cause an accident if you carry aîpower tool
with your ïŹnger on theîtrigger switch or connect aîpower tool to theîpower supply
when theîswitch is at ON.
d) Removeîall service tools/keys before you switch on theîpower tool.
A service tool left attached to aîrotating part of theîpower tool may result in injury.
e) Doînot overreach. Keepîproper footing and balance at all times. Thisîallows you to
have better control of theîpower tool in unexpected situations.
f) Wearîsuitable clothing. Doînot wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keepîyour hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loosely-ïŹtting clothes, jewellery or
long hair may get trapped in moving parts.
g) Ifîdust extraction and collection equipment is available, make sure it is connected
and properly used. Usingîsuch equipment can reduce dust-related hazards.
4) Using and maintaining theîpower tool
a) Doînot overload theîpower tool. Useîthe correct power tool for theîwork you are
doing. Theîcorrect power tool will do theîjob better and more safely at theîrate for
which it was designed.
b) Doînot use theîpower tool if theîswitch does not turn it on and off. Aîpower tool
that cannot be controlled with theîswitch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Unplugîthe power tool before you make any adjustments, change an accessory or
put theîtool away. Theseîpreventive safety measures will reduce theîrisk of theîtool
being started accidentally.
d) Storeîidle power tools out of theîreach of children and do not allow people
unfamiliar with theîpower tool and these instructions to use it. Powerîtools are
dangerous in theîhands of inexperienced users.
e) Checkîfor misalignment or binding of moving parts, for broken parts or anything
else that may affect theîoperation of theîpower tool. Ifîthere is any damage it must
be repaired before theîtool can be used again. Manyîaccidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keepîcutting tools sharp and clean. Properlyîmaintained cutting tools with sharp
edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
