PRECAUTIONS
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING
Please keep this manual in a safe and handy place for future reference.
WARNING
Always follow the basic precautions listed below to avoid the possibility of serious injury or even
death from electrical shock, short-circuiting, damages, fire or other hazards. These precautions
include, but are not limited to, the following:
Do Not Disassemble
• Donotdismantleormodifythevibraphone’scontrolleror
driver.Doingsocancausereorelectricalshock.
• Repairsorpartreplacementshouldnotbeattemptedunless
instructionsareprovidedinthemanual.
Handling
• Ifyouexperienceanyabnormalmovement,noise,orvibra-
tion,stopusingtheinstrumentimmediatelyandtightenall
boltsagain.Theinstrumentcanoverturnresultingininjury.
• Neverplaceyourhandsorfeetunderneaththepedal.Doing
so can result in pinched hands or feet.
• Nevertouchtherotatingfans.Doingsocanresultinpinched
ngers,etc.
• Donotuseorstoretheinstrumentinanyofthefollowing
locations.Doingsocancausereorelectricalshock.
- Inplacessubjecttohightemperatures(nearaheating
deviceorindirectsunlight,etc.).
- Inplaceswheretheinstrumentmaybeexposedto
moisture(bathroom,onwetoors,etc.)andexcessive
humidity.
- Inplaceswheretheinstrumentmaybeexposedtorain.
- Inplaceswithexcessivedust.
- Inplacessubjecttovibrations.
• Donotplayorroughhousearoundtheinstrument.Bumping
intotheinstrumentcancauseinjury.Itcanalsocausethe
instrumenttooverturn.Donotallowchildrentoplayaround
the instrument.
• Donotleanagainstorclimbontotheinstrument.Doingso
cancausetheinstrumenttooverturnresultinginserious
injury.
Power/AC adapter
• WhenusingtheACadapter,donotexcessivelybendthe
powercord,orplaceheavyobjectsonthecord.Doingso
maydamagethecordcausingreorelectricalshock.
• Neverputforeignobjects(combustibleobjects,coins,wire,
etc.)orliquids(water,juice,etc.)inthedriveunit.Doingso
cancausereandelectricshock.
• Ifoneofthefollowingoccurs,turnoffthepower,unplugthe
ACadapterandrequestrepairassoonaspossible.
- IftheACadapterorpowercordbecomesdamaged.
- Ifforeignobjectsorliquidshavegottenintothedriveunit.
- Ifthedriveunitgetswet(rain,etc.).
- Ifthedriveunitoperatesabnormallyorisbroken.
Transporting/Installation Location
• Alwaysassembletheinstrumentwithtwoormorepersons.
Doingsoalonecancausetheinstrumentfallingoverresult-
ingininjuryanddamagetotheinstrument.
• Followandobeytheinstructionstoproperlyassemblethein-
strument.Usinginanimproperlyassembledstatecancause
theinstrumenttooverturn,resultingininjury.
• Lockthecasterbrakeswhentheinstrumentisnotinuse.
Theinstrumentmaymoveoroverturn,resultingininjury.
• Neverplacetheinstrumentonaslopingorunstablesurface
orplatform,etc.Doingsocancausetheinstrumenttofall
overresultingininjury.
• Whenmovingtheinstrumentonitscasters,onlymove
acrosssmooth,atsurfaces.Avoidmovingtheinstrument
onsurfacesthatareslopedoruneven.Theinstrumentcan
overturn,runoutofcontrol,andbeadanger.
• Neverrunwiththeinstrument.Theinstrumentmaybecome
impossibletocontrolandcrashintoawallcausingserious
injury.
• Iftheinstrumentmustbeliftedorcarried,dosowithtwoor
morepersonsusingbothhandstoliftitbythesideframes.

• Neverplaceanyobjectsontheinstrument.Doingsocan
damagethetonebarsorframe.
• Neverusethemalletsforanythingotherthanplayingthe
instrument.Doingsocanresultininjuryoraccidents.Donot
allowchildrentousethemalletsinanywaythatmayposea
dangertothemselvesorothers.
• Neverstrikethetonebarswithglockenspielmalletsorany
othersolidobjects.Doingsocandentorscratchthetone
barsoraltertheirpitch.
• Treatingthecontrollerordriverroughlycandamagethe
internalcircuitboard,etc.Pleaseusecaution.
• Tonebarscanbecleanedusingasoft,dryclothorsilicon
cloth.Stainsthatarestillvisiblemaybewipedusingoffwith
asmallamountofethylalcoholappliedtoasoftcloth.Never
usethinner,benzine,orawetcloth.

Yamahacannotbeheldresponsiblefordamagecausedbyimproperuseormodicationstotheinstrument.
Power/AC adapter
• NeverpullonthecordwhendisconnectingtheACadapter
fromtheoutlet.AlwaysholdtheACadapterwhenconnecting
ordisconnectingthepower.
• AlwaysdisconnecttheACadapterfromtheoutletwhenthe
instrumentisnotusedforanyextendedperiodoftime.
• AlwaysuseanACadapterthatmeetsYAMAHAspecica-
tions.TheuseofanyotherACadaptermaycausedamage.
Installation Location
• Alwaysunplugthepowercordbeforemovingtheinstrument.
Thecordmaybecomedamagedoryoumaytripandfall.
• Whenmovingtheinstrument,moveitgentlyavoidingshocks
andimpacts.Theinstrumentissensitivetoshocksandmay
becomedamaged.
NOTICE
• Afterfinaladjustmentofthelegsthefixingscrewsmustbe
tightened securely to prevent loosening. Looseness may
cause theinstrument to shift during performance andcan
alsocausenoiseandotherproblems.Retightenthescrews
from time to time.
• Donotusetheinstrumentinlocationswithpoorventilation.
• Parts suchas switches, volume control,jacks,are called
consumableparts andtheir function willdeteriorateover
time.Thelevel ofdeterioration will vary depending upon
theconditionsunderwhichtheinstrumentisusedhowever
itcannot be avoided.When replacing consumable parts,
please consult with thedealer from whom you purchased
the instrument.
• When moving the instrument, moveit gently avoiding
shocksandimpacts.Alsomakesurethatthepoweradapter
is disconnected andthe casterstoppersare unlocked. Lift
theinstrumentslightly whenever movingit oversurfaces
that are not smooth or flat.
• If the instrumentis often moved,bolts, parts, etc., may
become loose. After moving the instrument,checkand
makesure allbolts, parts, etc.,arefirmlyfastened. Firmly
tightenalllooseitems.
