We wish you happy heating with the purchase of this ThermoCet recessed gas fireplace. Please read
these instructions thoroughly before installing and using the fireplace. Keep these instructions care-
fully. Always state model and serial number in the event of a breakdown.
1. GENERAL
1.1 Delivery
You should inspect the appliance for damage in transit, immediately it has been delivered. If it is damaged,
you should report this without delay and as precisely as possible to your supplier. Please refer to the delivery
document.
1.2 Contents of packaging
1 x Completely assembled appliance
1 x Operation and installation manual
1 x Warranty card
1 x Pipe mouth with 4 self-tapping screws for connection of outlet
1.3 First firing
Your fireplace is coated with heat-resistant enamel that can withstand extremely high temperatures. Burn the
fire at high during the first hours of use and ventilate the room well. The curing of the enamel may produce a
smell/smoke, but this is harmless, however. Any marks on the glass can be removed immediately with glass
cleaner.
1.4 Guarantee ( see page 13 and 14)
Always complete your guarantee card in full and return it to your supplier immediately after purchase. Type
and serial number are shown on the plate that you will find on the bottom of the burner unit.
2. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS VERSA
The Versa has a combined glow-effect and main burner (see page 10 figure 4). This burner can be operated
with either the thermostat knob (A) or the manual slide (B). You select the required setting with the thermo-
stat knob (A) and the modulating thermostat provides the right temperature. The hand-operated slide (B) al-
lows you to select the flame height you wish and the burner will continue to burn at that setting until you
change the selected setting.
2.1 Igniting.
* Open the gas stopcock fitted in the gas pipe to the appliance.
* Ensure that the thermostat knob (A) is at position n in the initial setting.
* Turn the thermostat knob (A) to the ignition position.Ă´
* Push the thermostat knob (A) and keep it pushed in.
* Push the ignition knob (C) all the way in until you hear a “click”; this is the spark ignition.
* You can see through the glass window whether the pilot light is burning. “Click” a few more
times if necessary, until the pilot light ignites.
* Keep the thermostat knob (A) pushed in for about another 30 seconds when the pilot light starts
burning and then release the knob.
* If the pilot light does not continue to burn, wait 5 minutes and then repeat the procedure.
* The burner is ignited by turning the thermostat knob (A) to the required setting (between set
tings 1 and 7, depending on the required temperature).
* To ignite the appliance with the glow-effect burner, move the slide (B) from position n depend-
ing on the required flame height (see figure). The glow-effect burner only functions when the
thermostat knob is between positions 1 and 7 (position 1 = low, position 7 = high).
Remark
Position (1) on the thermostat knob (A) is the pilot light setting if the room temperature is 10°C or more. If
the room temperature is below 10°C, the burner will also start to burn in position (1) until the temperature
has risen to 10°C.
