1. Important safety instructions
Carefully read the entire user'sīmanual before using the device and understand the safety
measures and detailed operating instructions for the device. Store the user'sīmanual
in aīsafe place for future reference. If you sell the device do not forget to provide the
user'sīmanual to the new owner together with the device and its accessories.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE!!!
Using the breathalyser immediately after or within 15 minutes of consuming alcohol
may damage the detection sensor and there is aīdanger of future measurements being
inaccurate. Unprofessional operation of this device is not covered by the warranty.
We recommend to store and use the device at room temperature. Using and storing at
other temperatures may affect the measurement accuracy.
Do not perform tests in strong winds or in aīclosed room, which is ļ¬lled with cigarette
smoke or contains alcohol vapours.
ā¢ If the ļ¬at batteries symbol appears on the display, recharge the device.
ā¢ Do not blow smoke, food or liquids into the mouthpiece.
ā¢ Using in environment outside the speciļ¬ed limits may lead to damage to the device
and inaccurate test results.
ā¢ The level of alcohol in the breath depends on many factors and changes with time.
The level can change already several minutes after the initial test.
ā¢ The measurement results of this device cannot be used as evidence in legal
proceedings.
ā¢ The information obtained using this device is only informative in nature. We
recommend that it is not used for making decisions about the ability to perform any
activity requiring responsibility. Several factors (e.g. natural gas remains, smoke and
undesirable breath) may inļ¬uence the level of the measured values.
ā¢ Do not allow yourself or anybody else to drive aīvehicle after consuming alcohol. Do
not transport aīperson under the inļ¬uence of alcohol who may be actively involved in
driving the vehicle (in particular by pedalling, braking, adversely affecting the balance
of the vehicle or similar).
ā¢ Neither the vendor nor the manufacturer are responsible for damages caused by the
use of this device.
NEVER DRINK ALCOHOL IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO DRIVE AīMOTOR VEHICLE!!!
2. Measurement
ā¢ The SCA BA10 Personal Breathalyser is aīhand-held non-certiļ¬ed measuring device,
the measured value may differ from that of aīcertiļ¬ed device.
ā¢ Refrain from drinking alcohol and smoking at least 15 minutes before measurement.
ā¢ Wash your mouth with water before use.
