order to disconnect the apparatus

Selecting radio mode

Press to switch on radio. ON (RADIO)

Switching band

Slide the switch on the right of BAND

the unit to select FM or AM band.

Tuning the radio

Rotate the knob on the right of TUNING

the unit to adjust the radio frequency.

Built-in AFC

The Built In Automatic Frequency

Control (AFC) works only on FM. It helps

reducing drift on FM reception and

keeping the radio locked in on the FM

station to which it is tuned.

When tuning in FM stations, you may

notice that the station you are tuning

can be well-tuned on two or three

nearby points on the dial. Always tune

carefully at the loudest and clearest

point.

AM antenna

A built-in ferrite rod antenna eliminates

the need for an outside antenna for

AM reception. Rotating the unit slightly

may improve reception of distant AM

stations.

Setting wake time

1. Slide the switch / / to SET

position.

2. Press REV or FWD to set the

wake time on the small display.

• The time decrements or increments

will follow by a faster rate when

you press and hold the buttons.

3. Slide the switch / / to SET

position.

Selecting wake source

You may be woken up by radio or

alarm.

1. Set a wake time (see above

instructions).

2. Press WAKE MODE repeatedly to

select a waking mode.

• Corresponding indicator lights

against the wake icon on the small

display.

– Wake by alarm

– Wake by radio

• The unit equips with GRAD-U-

WAKE feature, the alarm tone

volume will increase gradually to

its maximum in about 30 to 45

seconds.

• Your last tuned radio station will be

the wake source if wake by radio is

selected.

Turning off the wake

alarm or radio

• To silence the wake function

momentarily:

To turn off the wake function, press

SNOOZE on the top of the unit.

The wake alarm or radio will be

switched off temporarily. The alarm

or radio will be on again when the

snooze period (default: 9 minutes) is

over. (read “SmartSnoozeTM”)

• To turn off the wake alarm or

radio:

Press OFF. The wake alarm or radio

will activate again the next day

unless you switch off the Wake

function.

• To disable the wake function

completely:

WAKE MODEPress repeatedly until

OFF shows on the small display.

Checking wake time

• The set wake time always shows on

the small display with a wake mode

selected.

• If wake function is not activated,

OFF shows on the small display.

Wake function

SmartSnoozeTM

This operation allows extra sleep time

after the wake function is on. The alarm

will be off by pressing SNOOZE, ON,

REV FWD SLEEP, or until the snooze

period is over. Snooze function can be

used repeatedly up to 60 minutes. After

this, the wake function will turn off

until the next day.

To set the “quiet” period:

1. Press and hold SNOOZE.

2. Press or to set the REV FWD

quiet period that shows on the

large display.

• The time decrements or increments

will follow by a faster rate when

you press and hold the buttons.

• Snooze period can be set from 1 to

30 minutes (default: 9 minutes).

3. Release SNOOZE.

SmartSnoozeTM is only

available when the switch

SET / / is at the

position.

In sleep mode, you can set the duration

(up to 90 minutes) before the radio turn

off automatically.

To set the sleep mode:

• Press repeatedly to cycle SLEEP

among the sleep times available

(90min, 60min, 30min, 15min and

OFF. 90min is the default setting) on

the large display.

• The radio will be switched on.

• The indicator lights against the

sleep icon on the large display

when sleep mode is activated.

To check the remaining time in

sleep mode:

• Press and hold to check the SLEEP

remaining sleep time on the large

display.

To cancel the sleep mode:

• If you decide to turn off the unit

sooner, press or SNOOZE OFF.

purchaser of this product that should

this product or any part thereof, under

normal use and conditions, be proven

defective in material or workmanship

within 12 months from the date of

original purchase, such defect(s) will be

repaired or replaced with reconditioned

product (at the Company’s option)

without charge for parts and repair

labor.

To obtain repair or replacement

within the terms of this Warranty, the

product is to be delivered with proof

of warranty coverage (e.g. dated bill

of sale), speciﬁ cation of defect(s),

transportation prepaid, to the Company

This Warranty does not extend to the

elimination of externally generated

static or noise, to correction of

antenna problems, loss/interruptions of

broadcast or internet service, to costs

incurred for installation, removal or

reinstallation of product, to corruptions

data or content, or to damage to tapes,

discs, removable memory devices or

cards, speakers, accessories, computers,

recommended to make periodic

backup copies of content stored

on the product. If applicable,

before shipping a product, make

a back up copy of content or data

stored on the device. Also, it is

advisable to remove any personal

content which you would not want

exposed to others. IT IS LIKELY

THAT CONTENTS AND DATA ON

THE DEVICE WILL BE LOST DURING

SERVICE AND REFORMATTING.

AUDIOVOX ACCEPTS NO LIABILITY

FOR LOST CONTENT OR DATA,

OR FOR THE SECURITY OF ANY

PERSONAL CONTENT OR DATA ON

THE RETURNED DEVICE. Product

will be returned with factory

default settings, and without any

pre-loaded content which may have

been installed in the originally

purchased products. Consumer will

be responsible for reloading data

and content. Consumer will be

responsible to restore any personal

preference settings.

• Properly pack your unit. Include

any remotes, memory cards, cables,

etc. which were originally provided

with the product. However DO NOT

return any removable batteries,

even if batteries were included

with the original purchase. We

recommend using the original

carton and packing materials.

• Include evidence of purchase date

such as the bill of sale. Also print

your name and address and a

description of the defect. Send via

standard UPS or its equivalent to:

Plugging in for power

AC OUTLET POWER SUPPLY:

120V~60Hz

The AC power plug is polarized (one

blade is wider than the other) and only

ﬁ ts into AC power outlets one way.

If the plug will not go into the outlet

completely, turn the plug over and try

to insert it the other way. If it still does

not ﬁ t, contact a qualiﬁ ed electrician

to change the outlet, or use a different

one. Do not attempt to bypass this

safety feature.

Battery back-up operation

• The power failure protection circuit

will not operate unless battery is

installed.

• When the battery backup functions,

the digital display will not light,

however, the wake function

still occurs during the power

interruption if remaining battery

power is adequate.

• Normal operation will resume after

AC power is restored so you will not

have to reset the time or wake.

Install battery as follow:

1. Remove battery compartment door

(located at the bottom of the radio)

by applying thumb pressure to the

tab on battery door and then lift

the door out and off the cabinet.

2. Connect a 9-volt battery (not

supplied) to the connector plug.

3. Replace the compartment door.

Power failure indicator

When AC power is interrupted

(disconnected) for a short period of

time, both time and alarm settings

will change (unless battery is

installed). After AC power is restored

(reconnected), the Digital Display

will blink to indicate that power was

interrupted and you should readjust the

time and alarm settings.

• Power is fed to the unit

even when it is not

functioning. To cut the

power supply off, the power

cable must be unplugged.

• Alkaline (NEDA 1604A/IEC

6LR61) battery is recommended.

Carbon-zinc battery may be

used but memory holding time

will be substantially reduced.

Memory holding time for a fresh

alkaline battery is approximately

8 hours (if radio or alarm are not

operated) which should take care

of short, nuisance-type AC power

failures. To preserve battery life,

the unit should remain plugged

into an AC outlet. As the battery

gets older, its voltage drops and

memory may be lost. Be sure to

replace the battery periodically.

Battery should be removed if the

unit will be stored for more than

one month. Leaky battery can

badly damage the clock radio.

Setting clock time

1. Slide the switch / / to SET

position.

2. Press REV or FWD to set the

clock time on the large display.

• The time decrements or increments

will follow by a faster rate when

you press and hold the buttons.

• The “:” between hour and minute

time ﬂ ashes when you are setting

the time. AM or PM icon will also

show beside the time.

3. Slide the switch / / to SET

position.

Important Battery Precautions

• Any battery may present a risk of

ﬁ re, explosion, or chemical burn

if abused. Do not try to charge a

battery that is not intended to be

recharged, do not incinerate, and

do not puncture.

• Non-rechargeable batteries, such as

alkaline batteries, may leak if left in

your product for a long period of

time. Remove the batteries from the

product if you are not going to use

it for a month or more.

• If your product uses more than one

battery, do not mix types and make

sure they are inserted correctly.

Mixing types or inserting incorrectly

may cause them to leak.

• Discard any leaky or deformed

battery immediately. They may

cause skin burns or other personal

injury.

• Please help to protect the

environment by recycling or

disposing of batteries according to

federal, state, and local regulations.

• Do not expose batteries to excessive

heat (for example, by leaving them

in sunlight or close to ﬁ re).

Conexión a la red

FUENTE DE ALIMENTACIÓN CA:

120 V ca – 60 Hz

La toma de alimentación CA está

polarizada (una de las clavijas es más

ancha que la otra) y solo encaja en la

toma de alimentación CA en un sentido.

Si la clavija no encaja completamente

en el enchufe, dé la vuelta a la clavija e

insértela de la otra forma. Si sigue sin

encajar, póngase en contacto con un

electricista caliﬁ cado para que cambia

el enchufe o utilice uno distinto. No

intente puentear este dispositivo de

seguridad.

Operación de batería de

respaldo

• El circuito de protección de

interrupción de energía no

funcionará a menos que la batería

esté instalada.

• Al utilizar la unidad con las pilas

de reserva, el display digital no se

iluminará, pero la función de alarma

se activará de todos modos durante

el corte de electricidad, si las pilas

tienen suﬁ ciente potencia.

• Al reestablecer la alimentación, se

reanuda el funcionamiento normal,

por lo que no tendrá que volver a

ajustar la hora ni la alarma.

Indicador de fallo de

alimentación

Si se interrumpe la alimentación

(desconexión) durante un breve

periodo de tiempo, cambiará el

ajuste de la hora y de la alarma

(a menos que estén instaladas las

pilas). Cuando se restablezca la

alimentación (reconexión), el display

digital parpadeará para indicar que

se p2-ha interrumpido la alimentación y

que debe volver a ajustar la hora y la

alarma.

Instalación de las pilas:

1. Retire la tapa del compartimiento

(en la parte inferior de la unidad),

apretando el pasador con el pulgar

y retirando la tapa.

2. Conecte una batería de 9 voltios

(no suministrada) a la entrada del

conector.

3. Reubique la puerta del

compartimiento.

• La electricidad sigue

pasando a la unidad incluso

cuando ésta está apagada.

Para cortar la alimentación,

desenchufe el cable.

• Se recomiendan baterías alcalinas

(6LR61/NEDA 1604A). La batería

de carbón-zinc puede ser usada

pero el tiempo de retención en

memoria será substancialmente

reducido. El tiempo de retención

en memoria para una batería

alcalina fresca nueva es de

aproximadamente ocho horas

(si el radio o la alarma no son

operados) lo cual debería ser

suﬁ ciente para molestas fallas

de energía CA del tipo de corta

duración. Para preservar la vida

de la batería, la unidad debería

permanecer conectada a una

toma de corriente CA. Conforme

la batería pierde energía, su

voltaje cae y la memoria se puede

perder. Asegúrese de reemplazar

la batería periódicamente. La

batería debería ser retirada si la

unidad será almacenada por más

de un mes. Una batería con fuga

puede dañar seriamente el radio

reloj.

SNOOZE (en la parte superior de la unidad)

Al sintonizar estaciones FM, usted

puede notar que la estación que

está sintonizando puede estar bien

sintonizada en dos o tres puntos

cercanos en el dial. Sintonice siempre

con cuidado en el punto más alto y

claro.

Antena AM

Una antena de barra de ferrita

integrada elimina la necesidad de una

antena exterior para recepción AM.

Girar la unidad ligeramente puede

mejorar la recepción de estaciones AM

distantes.
