CHARGING THE BATTERY BEFORE
USE
1. Before first use you have to charge the
batteries for at least 16 hours. After first

hours.
2. Be sure that the ON/OFF switch is set to
O (OFF).
3. Connect the jack plug to the back of the

base, the control indicator lights up
indicating the batteries are being

Tips on the rechargeable batteries
The new batteries do not initially reach their
maximum charge capacity. To obtain the
maximum charge capacity, the batteries
should be fully charged prior to being used
for the first time and then the hair and beard
trimmer should be used until the batteries
are completely flat. The batteries should then
be fully recharged. To increase the life of
the batteries, this charging and discharging
process should be repeated approx. twice a
year.

the razor blades before each use.
1. Put one drip of oil on the razor blades

GUIDE COMB ATTACHMENT
The Guide Comb helps to guide hair to
cutting blades and gives you precise control
of hair lengths. It may be removed if you are:
• Defining/outlining hair line edges
• Trimming nape of neck
• Trimming with a Barber’s comb or fingers
To Remove the Guide Comb:
1. Be certain the clipper is in OFF position.
2. Gently pull the Guide Comb off the
clipper.
TRIMMING
1. Be certain the clipper is clean. If the
cutter blades are running slowly or
do not move, they may be dirty and
clogged. Clean the clipper following
MAINTENANCE instructions.
2. Seat person having hair trimmed in a
position where the top of the head is at
your eye level.
3. The hair should be clean, well combed,
tangle-free and dry.
4. Use the clipper with the Guide Comb.
5. Set the desired cutting length by turning
the bottom adjustment wheel.
6. Hold the clipper firmly but in a
comfortable grip.
• If you are not used to clipping hair, begin
with a higher setting and then reduce the
setting to avoid cutting more hair than
desired.
7. Start at the sides of the head. Move the
clipper up slowly against direction of hair,
lifting it up and outward through hair,
cutting a small amount at a time.
8. In between, shake or blow off the hair
from the clipper. If too much hair is
caught in the Guide Comb, remove and
clean it.
9. Regularly comb the hair in the style
desired during trimming.
Trimming without the Guide Comb
When using the clipper without the Guide
Comb, use a slow, smooth motion to prevent
trimming off more hair than desired.
Trimming with the Barber’s Comb
To cut longer hair, hold it up with the barber’s
comb and cut it with the scissors or with
clipper (the Guide Comb must be removed
from the clipper).
Trimming with the Thinning Guide
The Thinning Guide is a device that allows
you to thin a chosen part of the hair rather
than trim it all at the same length. By rotating
the Turning Wheel for actuating the thinning
guide a metallic blocker will come forward
and block a number of teeth of the clipper.
So that when you cut hair with the Thinning
Guide, some of the hair gets between the
teeth of the clipper and is cut, but most of the
hair falls in the gaps between the teeth and
is not cut. This allows some of the hairs to be
cut short and other hairs to remain at the full
length of the style. With some of the hairs cut
short, this thins out the hair.
1. Remove the Guide Comb.
2. To actuate the Thinning Guide, rotate the
Turning Wheel to “Iı ıI I“.
3. Lift hair with the Barber’s Comb or
fingers to desired length and cut hair with
the clipper.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
(fig. 2)
• It is advised to clean the trimmer after
each use.
• Turn off the appliance and remove the
plug from the wall socket.
