TLP Pro 525C Series ā¢ Setup Guide
Overview
The Extron TLP Pro 525C is a 5-inch Cable Cubby touchpanel. It has a īip-up, 800x480 (WVGA), LCD touchscreen with
24-bit color depth. The TLP Pro 525C NC is a streamlined model, with a set of features that adhere to government and military
security protocols.
These touchpanels are suitable for any AV application requiring a Cable Cubby touchpanel with a customizable interface.
This guide provides instructions for experienced installers to mount and install these touchpanels. For more complete instructions,
see the at TLPīPro 525C and 725C Series User Guide www.extron.com.
Setup Checklist
Get Ready
ī
Download and install the latest version of the following software:

GUI Designer ā For designing layouts for Extron TouchLinkĀ® Pro touchpanels and third party touch interfaces.
ī
Global ConfiguratorĀ® Professional and Global Configurator Plus ā For setting up and conīguring the control
processor and touchpanel.
ī
Toolbelt ā Provides device discovery, device information, īrmware updates, and conīguration of network settings,
system utilities, and user management for TouchLink Pro devices.
ī
Global ScripterĀ® ā Provides an integrated development environment for Extron control systems programming.
NOTE: All four software programs are available from www.extron.com.
ī
Obtain the following network information from your network administrator:

Password ā The factory conīgured passwords for all accounts on this device have been set to the device serial
number. Passwords are case sensitive.
NOTE: If the device is reset to default settings, the password will be the default password conīguration. The default

Make a note of the touchpanel MAC address.
ī
Make sure you are familiar with all the included parts and have all the necessary Tools Required for Installation (see
page 4) for installing the cable cubby.

Mount and Cable All Devices

Cut a hole in the table (see Step 1 ā Verify Cut-out Dimensions Step 2 ā Cut the Surface on page 4 and on
page 5).

Run cables to the cable cubby (see on page 5).Step 3 ā Run all Cables

Install modules into the Cable Cubby enclosure. Multiple optional modules can be installed in the TLP Pro 525C Cable Cubby
in a variety of conīgurations. Decide which modules and which conīguration best serve your needs. Options include:

Set up the Touchpanels for Network Communication
ī
Connect the PC that you are using for setup, the control processor, and the touchpanel to the same Ethernet subnetwork.
ī
Use the (see page 10) or Toolbelt to set the DHCP status and, if necessary, the IP address, subnet mask, Setup Menu
gateway, and related settings for the touchpanel.
Conļ¬gure the Touchpanels
The , the , and the GUI Designer Help File Global Conļ¬gurator Help File Toolbelt Help File provide step-by-step instructions and
detailed information. The includes an introduction to the software and sections on how to start a Global Conļ¬gurator Help File
project and conīguration.
Global Scripter provides an Extron-exclusive Python library (ControlScriptĀ®) and Global Scripter modules to get you started.

Front Panel Features
A ā The TLP Pro 525C series has a 5-inch LCD screen
touchscreen with a 800x480 resolution.
B ā Detects motion between three to īve Motion sensor
feet from the touchpanel, and at least 15Ā° from the center
axis.
ā¢ When no motion has been detected for a user-
deīned period of time, the touchpanel enters sleep
mode.
ā¢ When motion is detected by the sensor, the screen
display is restored and active.
C ā This LED shows the Communication LED
conīguration and connection status of the touchpanel:
ā¢ Unlit during normal operation (the touchpanel is
conīgured and connected to an IP Link Pro control
processor).
ā¢ Blinks red if the touchpanel has been conīgured but
is not connected to an IP Link Pro control processor.
ā¢ Permanently lit if the touchpanel has not been
conīgured and is not connected to an IP Link Pro
control processor.
The indicator can be toggled between enabled and
disabled, using the (see page 10).

Features
Enclosure Features
E ā The left side of the lid hinge mechanism contains a switch. When the lid is closed, the switch sends the Activation switch
screen into sleep mode. When the lid is opened, the screen display is restored and active.
When the lid is shut, the screen is not activated by motion near the touchpanel.
F ā A single speaker, located on the side of the enclosure, provides audible feedback for the user.Speaker

These features are accessed from underneath the touchpanel.
A ā Pressing the button activates the setup Menu button
