REMOTE CONTROL
TAPE PLAYBACK RECORDING
TO STOP PLAYBACK
Press the STOP/EJECT button.
TO INTERRUPT PLAYBACK
Press the PAUSE button.
To resume playing, press the PAUSE button again.
TO REWIND AND FASTWIND
Press the REWIND or F.FWD button. Press the STOP/EJECT
button to stop winding at the desired position.
WHEN THE TAPE REACHES ITS END
During fastwind or regular play, the tape will automatically stopped when its
end is reached.
TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
To locate a particular point in a track
· To move forward at high speed, keep forward search button pressed and
release it at the desired point.
· To move backward at high speed, keep reverse search button pressed
and release it at the desired point.
· If the current track is searched over, it will continue to search the next track
until the end of the disc is reached. The searching will automatically be stopped.
If this happens during playback, the first track of the next numbered disc will
be played.
Note:
Searching and skipping can be done during playback or pause stage
but are effective for the currently selected disc only.
Use DISC SKIP button to choose another disc.
REVERSE FORWARD
Keep it pressed
REPEAT PLAYBACK
DURING PLAYBACK MODE
To repeat the current track
· Press the REPEAT button until ONE
SONG indicator lights up and the
currently playing track will be played
repeatedly until the STOP button is
pressed.
To repeat the whole disc
· Press the REPEAT button until ONE
DISC indicator lights up and the
current disc will be played repeatedly
starting from the currently playing
point.
To repeat all discs
· Press the REPEAT button until ALL
DISC indicator lights up.
To cancel repeat play
· Press the REPEAT button until all
indicators turn off.

USING THE REMOTE CONTROL
CORRECTLY
· Point the Remote Control at the REMOTE
SENSOR located on the unit.
· When there is a strong ambient light source,
the performance of the infrared REMOTE
SENSOR may be degraded, causing
unreliable operation.
· The recommended effective distance for
remote operation is about 4 meters (13 feet).
TO INSTALL BATTERY
1. Take out the PVC sheet before
operating the remote control. 2. Open the battery door.
3. Insert one CR2025 (3V) size
battery.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
When battery becomes weak, the operating distance of the Remote Control is
greatly reduced and you will need to replace the battery.
NOTE:
If the Remote Control is not to be used for a long time, remove the battery to
avoid damage caused by battery leakage corrosion.
1. Slide the FUNCTION selector to
TAPE. 2. Press the STOP/EJECT button.
3. Insert a cassette tape into the
cassette compartment with the
exposed side of cassette tape
downwards.
4. Press the PLAY button to begin
playback.

4. Prepare the source to be recorded
and play it.
3. Press the RECORD
button which also
engages the PLAY
button.

ITEMS TO CHECK
· Turn VOLUME clockwise.
· The headphones are connected.
Disconnect them.
· Check the speaker connections of the
inoperative channel.
· Check the speaker cord connection and
speaker location.
· Check the speaker connection for proper
phasing.
· The TV or VCR is too close to the stereo
system. Separate the stereo system from
the TV or VCR.
· Make sure AC power plug is secure in the
outlet, and outlet has power.
· Make sure FUNCTION selector is set to
CD.
· Make sure disc label is facing up.
· Make sure disc is clean.
· Pause mode is activated.
· Disc may be damaged or dirty; check disc.
· Make sure the unit is on a secure spot.
Vibration or jarring can cause the disc to
skip.
· Make sure FM antenna wire is unwound.
· Electrical interference in your home can
cause poor reception. Move the unit away
from sources of interference (especially
those with motors and transformers).
· Reposition or turn the main unit for better
reception.
· Tape heads are dirty; clean them.
· Tape is damaged. Try another tape.
· Tabs on edge of cassette may be missing
or broken. If you want to record on that
cassette cover the holes with removable
tape.
CLEANING CD
If the CD skips or will not play, the disc may need to
be cleaned.
Before playing, wipe the disc from the centre out
with a cleaning cloth. After playing, store the disc in
its case.
CLEANING THE TAPE HEADS
To maintain optimum sound quality, clean the
playback/recorded heads(a), erasure head(b), pinch
roller(c), and capstans(d) regularly (every 10 hours
of use ). Use a cotton swab lightly moistened with cleaning fluid or denatured
alcohol.
CLEANING THE UNIT
Do not use volatile chemicals on this unit. Clean by lightly wiping with a soft
cloth.
IMPORTANT NOTE
· If an abnormal display indication or an operating problem occurs, disconnect
the AC power cord. Wait at least 5 seconds, then reconnect it .
· Before transporting the unit, take out all discs from the CD tray.

ON PLACEMENT
· Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot ,clod ,dusty, or humid.
· Place the unit on a flat and even surface.

Connect the wires to the speaker terminals in correct position.
Note: Connecting speakers other than the speakers supplied with the
unit, may damage the unit.

Before use, check that the rated voltage of your unit matches your local
voltage. Make sure both speakers are connected correctly before plugging

RADIO OPERATION
1. Slide the FUNCTION selector to
TUNER. 2. Slide the BAND selector to desired
band.
3. Tune into a station. 4. Adjust the volume level.
FOR BETTER RECEPTION
NOTE: DO NOT CONNECT TO AN OUTSIDE ANTENNA.
Fully unwind the wire antenna. Then
extend the wire antenna and place
it in the position that sounds best.
Rotate the unit to get the best
receiving position.
TO RECEIVE THE FM BROADCAST IN STEREO
Slide the FM MODE selector to FM STEREO.
When the FM stereo broadcast is received. FM STEREO indicator lights up.
IF THE FM BROADCAST SIGNAL IS WEAK
Slide the FM MODE selector to MONO position to turn off the FM STEREO
indicator and background noises become monaural.
AFTER LISTENING
Slide the FUNCTION selector to STANDBY.
COMPACT DISC PLAYBACK
1. Slide the FUNCTION selector to
CD. 2. Open the disc compartment.
3. Place a disc onto the disc(s) holder,
with the label side up.
Caution: The unit can play 5 inch
(12cm) only.
Press the DISC SKIP button to
revolve the tray clockwise.
Place other disc(s) on the disc
holder(s).

5. Close the CD door by holding down on its center until secure. The total
number of tracks will show in the CD display for a few seconds.
To stop playing:
(a) For a moment only, press PLAY/PAUSE button and the track no. will
flash. Press this button again to resume playing.
(b) Press the STOP button.
Note:
The SKIP/SEARCH buttons can only be used to choose a track
of the current disc.
To choose a track of another disc, DISC SKIP button should be pressed
to get to the desired disc first.
LOCATING A PARTICULAR POINT IN A TRACK
To locate a track in sequence
· To locate the beginning of the current or the preceding track, press
reverse skip button.
· To locate the beginning of the succeeding track, press forward skip
button.
· A short period of time will be needed for the disc to read the information of
the desired track before playback can be done.
6. Press the DISC SKIP button to select the desired disc. Press either one of
the SKIP/SEARCH buttons to select the desired track.
7. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback . The CD PLAY indicator
lights up.
REVERSE FORWARD
Press it once
