Optional A Pack
Headset
The headset socket located next to the aerial is
labelled
(
SPK/MIC
). When connecting a headset
from the optional A Pack, use the
PTT
button on the
cable to talk.
Please note!
The headset ringer signal and headset volume may initially be very
loud. Adjust the volume control immediately you connect the headset.
Charging
Warning!
When charging never use ordinary (non-
rechargeable) batteries in the handset,
since this will ruin the equipment. The
guarantee does not cover this type of
damage.
Upon installing the supplied rechargeable batteries ensure
correct polarity is observed, connect the adapter to the
PTT/CHG
socket. The handset must be switched
ON
before charging will occur and cannot be used to transmit
while charging. The battery indicator will stop ashing when
charging is complete (approximately 8 hours).
Please note!
When the unit is installed, the batteries must be charged for 10-15
hours before using the handset. The recharging system used in this
model may result in the handset and the batteries becoming warm.
This is normal and will not damage the equipment.
