information before operating the Drinks Maker.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: IF YOU ARE USING A CARBONATING BOTTLE THAT IS NOT MARKED
'DISHWASHER-SAFE' YOU SHOULD NEVER WASH IT IN THE DISHWASHER OR OTHERWISE
EXPOSE IT TO HEAT OR EXTREME COLD.
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: DO NOT carbonate with any bottle not specifically designed to work with this
Drinks Maker. The PLAYâ„¢Drinks Maker is designed to work with all 1L SodaStream carbonating
bottles as well as the 0.5L carbonating bottle marked ‘Source’. SodaStream glass carbonating
bottles and 0.5L bottles that are not marked ‘Source’ are not compatible with the PLAY™Drinks
Maker and should not be used. Only suitable SodaStream carbonating bottles should be used with
the PLAYâ„¢Drinks Maker.
ï‚ŸClose adult supervision is necessary when the Drinks Maker is used by children.
GENERAL WARNINGS
ï‚Ÿ DANGER: Misuse of the Drinks Maker may result in serious personal injury .
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: DO NOT use the Drinks Maker if it is not in its upright position.
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: DO NOT use the Drinks Maker for anything other than carbonating water. Use of
this Drinks Maker for any unintended purposes may result in serious personal injury and damage
to the Drinks Maker.
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: Use the Drinks Maker on a flat, stable surface away from sources of heat. DO
NOT place the Drinks Maker on a hot surface (e.g. oven hob) and never use it close to an open
flame.
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: DO NOT carbonate an empty bottle.
ï‚ŸCarbonating bottle must be properly in place before operating the Drinks Maker.
ï‚ŸDO NOT move Drinks Maker during the carbonation process.
ï‚ŸDO NOT remove the carbonating bottle during the carbonation process.
ï‚ŸTo reduce the risk of personal injury or property damage, any servicing or repair should be
performed by a SodaStream-authorised service representative.
CO CYLINDERS

ï‚Ÿ DANGER: A CO leak can lead to carbon dioxide poisoning. In the event of a CO leak,

ventilate the area, breathe fresh air and if feeling unwell seek immediate medical attention.
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: Inspect the cylinder prior to use for any dents, punctures, or other damage. If any
are detected DO NOT use the cylinder and contact a SodaStream-authorised service
representative.
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: Mishandling the cylinder can result in serious personal injury.

ï‚Ÿ WARNING: Use caution when removing the cylinder as it may be very cold immediately after
use.
ï‚ŸAlways keep the cylinder away from any heat source and out of direct sunlight.
ï‚Ÿ DO NOT transport the Drinks Maker with the cylinder in place.
ï‚ŸDO NOT tamper with the cylinder in any way.
ï‚ŸDO NOT attempt to puncture or incinerate the cylinder.
ï‚ŸDO NOT throw the cylinder or cause it to fall.
ï‚ŸDO NOT handle a cylinder while it is discharging CO .

CARBONATING BOTTLE
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: DO NOT carbonate with any bottle not specifically designed to work with this
Drinks Maker. The PLAYâ„¢Drinks Maker is designed to work with all 1L SodaStream carbonating
bottles as well as the 0.5L carbonating bottle marked ‘Source’. SodaStream glass carbonating
bottles and 0.5L bottles that are not marked ‘Source’ are not compatible with the PLAY™Drinks
Maker and should not be used. Only suitable SodaStream carbonating bottles should be used
with the PLAYâ„¢Drinks Maker.
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: Unless the SodaStream carbonating bottle is identified by a prominent
'Dishwasher-Safe' marking, YOU SHOULD NEVER WASH IT IN THE DISHWASHER OR

OTHERWISE EXPOSE IT TO HEAT ABOVE 120 F (49 C) OR EXTREME COLD BELOW 34 F (1 C).
DO NOT rinse the bottle in hot water. DO NOT place the bottle next to a heat source such as your
oven hob. DO NOT leave the bottle in your car. DO NOT place the bottle in the freezer. Doing so
will compromise the integrity of the carbonating bottle material and may result in serious personal
injury and damage to the Drinks Maker.
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: DO NOT use a carbonating bottle if changes in shape have occurred, as that
indicates the bottle is damaged. DO NOT use carbonating bottles that are scratched, worn,
discoloured, or damaged in any way.
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: SodaStream carbonating bottles are clearly marked with an expiration date near
the bottom of the bottle. DO NOT use bottles after their expiration date. Recycle and replace
expired bottles in accordance with local recycling laws.
ï‚ŸRinse carbonating bottle with cold or lukewarm water before first use.
CARBONATION
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: DO NOT USE THE DRINKS MAKER TO CARBONATE ANY LIQUIDS OTHER
THAN PLAIN WATER. ADD FLAVOUR ONLY AFTER CARBONATION.
ï‚Ÿ WARNING: DO NOT carbonate an empty bottle.
