First Pitch
In order to familiarize yourself with your new tent, we sug-
gest that you grab a friend or relative and do a “test pitch”
before you enjoy your outdoor adventure.
Select a Site
Pitch the tent on a level area that is protected from wind
and shaded from the sun, if possible. It also important that
the campsite drains well, in case of rain. Clear the area of
debris such as sharp stones and sticks that might abrade or
puncture the tent floor.
Assemble the Poles
The comes with 3 poles. The main pole is connect-Moken 6
ed via the “Spider Hub” (Figure 1) the remaining two poles
are of equal length with slight pre bends in them. Coming
from the center of the hub will be 4 longer poles and two
short poles. Assemble this pole first by carefully unfolding
the shock corded sections and allowing them to slide together.
Do not snap the pole sections together, as this could damage
the poles. Make certain that the insert for each pole section is
fully inserted into the next pole section, as well as, the “Spider
Hub” (Figure 2). Failure to do so may cause the poles to break.
Once assembled place to the poles to the side.
Lay Out Tent Body
Unfold the tent body and lay flat on the ground so that the
blue and grey rainfly is facing up. You will notice that the in-
ner tents and common room footprint are already attached to
the rainfly. By having these parts pre assembled it will make
the initial set-up of your much easier. Spread the tent Moken 6
out so that you are able to find the “Hub Hook” (Figure 3).
This is located at the center of the tent (Figure 4, point M).
Once you have located the “Hub Hook” you will want to locate
the four navy blue stakeout loops (Figure 4, points A, B, G &
H). If you are pitching this tent by yourself we suggest that
you stake these four points down for an easier pitch.
Erect the Tent
Attach the “Hub Hook” to the loop on the underside of the
“Spider Hub” and that the two short poles are facing the tent
doors. Now, start with the end of the longer pole that is fac-
ing point A (Figure 4) and insert the pole tip into one of the
grommets. Follow this step for point G and then move to the
other side of the tent and repeat with points B & H. Once the
main pole structure is up attach the Swift Clips and Clip Locs
(do not attach bungee yet) along the A-H and B-G axis. You
now have two main body poles left. Each one of these poles are

equal in length and have 2 pre bends in them, so it does not
matter which pole you use. The remaining two poles will need
to be threaded through external pole sleeves along the N-O and
P-Q axis (Figure 4). Once one of the poles has been threaded
through the pole sleeve insert the pole tip into the grommets
provided at points E & F or C & D. Repeat this step for the
remaining pole. Attach the Clip Locs at points N, O, P, &
Q to their corresponding pole intersections. Now attach the
bungee cordon the four Clip Locs by wrapping the bungee in
the direction crossing the open gate of the clip. Wrap the cord
around the intersection 2 to 4 times, depending on the desired
firmness, then, slide the cord into the groove on the backside
of the clip to keep it taut (Figure 5). Next, insert the pole tips
on the shorter poles and insert into the grommets provided at
points R & S (Figure 4). Lastly, stake out points I & J. You
will notice that at both points I & J, there will be two stake
loops. One is for the rainfly and one is for the inner sleeping
room, stake them both out to the same stake. Repeat this pro-
cess for points K & L.
Stake Out the Tent
If you have not already staked out all 12 stake out loops
(Figure 4, points A-L) we suggest you do so now. Once fully
staked out work your way around the tent and make any nec-
essary adjustments so that your tent has been pitched to its
desired tautness.
Sleeping Room Set-Up/Removal
Now that your Moken 6 is pitched and you have been able
to view it from the inside you will notice that you have two
sleeping rooms and a living area. You will also notice that the
two sleeping rooms are removable. By having these two rooms
removable it allows you various options for your Moken 6, such
as, both sleeping rooms in, 1 room in and 1 room out, or both
sleeping rooms removed. In order to remove the sleeping rooms
all you need to do is unhook the “Toggle/Ring” (Figure 6) sys-
tem and then unclip the “side-release” buckles on the floor.
Ventilate the Tent
You have various options for ventilating your Moken 6. The
most effective way is to utilize the roof vents, along with the
rainfly doors. You will notice that the roof in the main living
section of your tent has two ceiling vents that allow for ventila-
tion. In addition to the ceiling vents there are four additional
vents, 2 for each sleeping room. There are also two zip down
panels within the vestibule.
