â This appliance may be used by
children (at least 8 years of age) and
by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or
lacking experience and knowledge,
provided they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning
the use of the appliance and fully
understand all dangers and safety
precautions involved.
â Children must not be permitted to play
with the appliance.
â Children must not be permitted to
carry out any cleaning or maintenance
work on the appliance unless they
are supervised and at least 8 years of
age.
â The appliance and its power cord must
be kept well away from children under
8 at all times.
â Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from
children â these are a potential source of danger, e.g. of
suffocation.
â Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as
anyîattachmentîîżttedîshouldîbeîcheckedîthoroughlyîforî
any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have
been dropped onto a hard surface, it must no longer be
used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects
on the operational safety of the appliance.
â During operation, the grill must be placed on a level,
heat-resistant surface, impervious to splashes and
stains. When grilling food with a high fat or moisture
content, splashes are not always avoidable.
â Do not position the grill next to a wall or corner, and
ensureîthatînoîinîammableîmaterialsîareîstoredînearîit.
â Remember that food with a high fat or moisture content
may tend to ignite; therefore always îll the reîector
tray with water before use. Do not connect the grill
to mains power until the trey has been îlled with
water. The water helps to cool downîtheîreîectorîtray,î
reduces the build-up of smoke, and also facilitates
cleaning.
Keep monitoring the water level. Water should be added
in good time, while ensuring that it does not come into
contact with the heating element. Disconnect Caution:
the grill from the mains before adding water.
â Before the grill is used, always check that the
heating element is correctly îtted in the housing
and reîector tray.
â The grill must be supervised at all times during
operation.
âKeep in mind that the heating element and grill rack
become during operation. Even after the very hot
heating element is switched off, it must not be touched
untilîitîhasîsufîżcientlyîcooledîdownî-îthere is otherwise
a severe danger of burns.
â Do not allow the power cord to touch any hot parts of the
appliance.
â Always remove the plug from the wall socket
-before îlling with water,
-after use,
-in case of any malfunction, and
-during cleaning.
â The use of an extension cord or reel causes a loss of
power, possibly combined with a subsequent heat build-
up in the cable. It is therefore necessary to unwind the
cable completely before use. Make sure that the cord
isîapprovedîforîoutdoorîuseîandîforîtheîpowerîspeciîżedî
(see rating label).
â Caution: Do not move the grill when it is in use. Before
carrying, transporting, cleaning or storing the grill,
ensureîthatîisîhasîsufîżcientlyîcooledîdown.îPourîoutîanyî
remaining water after use.
â Ensure that the grill is not stored outdoors, or in any
other location where it might be subjected to extremes of
temperature or high humidity.
â No responsibility is accepted if damage results from
improper use, or if these instructions are not complied
with.
â This product complies with all binding CE labelling
directives.
