than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and cable out of reach

2 Use the iron, or set it on its heel, on a stable, level, heat-resistant
surface, preferably an ironing board.
3 Donā€™t leave the iron unattended while plugged in, or while itā€™s
standing on the ironing board.
4 Unplug the iron before ļ¬lling, before cleaning, and after use.
5 Donā€™t operate the appliance if itā€™s dropped or damaged, or if it
malfunctions or leaks.
6 If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer,
its service agent, or someone similarly qualiļ¬ed, in order to avoid
hazard.

U BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
ā€¢ī€ƒRemove any labels, stickers or packaging from the iron and soleplate.
ā€¢ī€ƒDonā€™t worry if the iron smokes a bit at ļ¬rst, itā€™ll stop as the element cures.
ā€¢ī€ƒIron an old piece of cotton fabric, to clean the soleplate.
ā€¢ī€ƒPress the and buttons 3 or 4 times, to check them.~ *
C AUTO SHUT-OFF
ā€¢ī€ƒIf the iron is motionless, it will switch oļ¬€ after about 30 seconds with the soleplate down, or
about 8 minutes if itā€™s upright.
ā€¢ī€ƒThe auto shut-oļ¬€ light will ļ¬‚ash, and keep on ļ¬‚ashing till you move the iron.
ā€¢ī€ƒTo switch on again, lift it up, tilt it forward, then sit it upright to return to operating
temperature.
ā€¢ī€ƒNo settings are lost during auto shut-oļ¬€.
C PREPARATION
1 Check for textile care symbols (i j k l).
2 Iron fabrics needing low temperatures ļ¬rst, then those that need medium temperatures j
k l, and ļ¬nish with those needing high temperatures .
X FILLING
3 The iron may be used with tap-water, but if you live in a hard-water area, you should use
distilled water (not chemically descaled water).
4 If you buy distilled water, check that it is marketed as suitable for irons.
5 Donā€™t add anything to the water ā€“ youā€™ll damage the iron.
6 Unplug the appliance.
7 Set the temperature control to ā€¢. Set the steam control to .S
8 Place the iron on its soleplate.
9 Open the cover.
10 Pour water from the jug into the water inlet.
11 Pour slowly, to allow the air in the reservoir to escape, and avoid an airlock.
12 Donā€™t ļ¬ll past the mark on the reservoir, or water will escape in use.max
13 Close the cover. Wipe up any spillage.
C SWITCH ON
14 Set the temperature control to ā€¢. Set the steam control to .S
15 Sit the iron on its heel.
16 Put the plug into the power socket.
17 Turn the temperature control to bring the setting you want (see the guide below) next to the
5 mark. The thermostat light will glow.
18 When the iron reaches the set temperature, the light will go oļ¬€. It will then cycle on and oļ¬€
as the thermostat operates to maintain the temperature.
