Introduction
Thank you and congratulations on your choice of the Roland FR-1x V-Accordion.
To ensure that you obtain the maximum enjoyment and take full advantage of the FR-1x’s functionality, please
read this owner’s manual carefully.
About this manual
You should first read the chapter “Before you start playing” (p. 15) of the owner’s manual. It explains how to connect
the AC adaptor or install batteries and turn on the power. This Owner’s Manual explains everything, from the FR-1x’s
basic operations to more advanced functions.
Conventions in this manual
In order to explain the operations as clearly as possible, this manual uses the following conventions:
•Text enclosed in square brackets [ ] indicates the name of a button or knob. Example: the [USER PROGRAM] button.
•Lines that begin with “ ” are cautionary statements that you must read.
•The numbers of pages that you can turn to for additional, related information are given like this: (p. **).
The explanations in this manual include illustrations that depict what should typically be shown by the display. Note,
however, that your unit may incorporate a newer, enhanced version of the system (e.g., include newer sounds), so what
you actually see in the display may not always match what appears in the manual.
Before using this instrument, carefully read “Using the unit safely” (p. 7) and “Important notes” (p. 9). Those sections
provide information concerning the proper operation of the FR-1x. Additionally, in order to feel assured that you
have gained a good grasp of every feature provided by your new unit, the manual should be read in its entirety. The
manual should be saved and kept on hand as a convenient reference.
