4. Operating Instructions
IMPORTANT: Never touch the metal grid with your bare hands! If you need to clean the tray, follow the
safety instructions carefully.
a. Discharging the device before maintenance
1. Unplug the device from the mains.
2. Use a screwdriver with an insulated handle. Make sure you only hold the screwdriver by the handle.
3. Short-circuit the 2 wires of the inner metal grid by gently touching them simultaneously with the
metal shaft of the screwdriver. A spark may arise. Repeat this manipulation until no more sparks
arise.
b. Cleaning the receptacle
1. Discharge the device.
2. Remove the receptacle:
hold the housing and turn the receptacle (bottom part) counter clockwise (see
image), than pull the receptacle out of the housing.
3. Clean the receptacle with a brush.
4. Place the receptacle back. Align the protrusions of the tray with the notches in
the housing, push the tray in the housing and rotate it a quarter turn to secure
it.
c. Cleaning the device
• Clean the insect killer regularly with a dry, clean cloth and plastic brush. Do not submerge into any
liquid.
• Make sure no dust accumulates on the UV lamps as this will greatly reduce their effectiveness.
• Only use a plastic brush to clean the high-voltage grid. Brush gently to avoid damage.
d. Maintenance
• All screws should be tightened and free of corrosion.
• The housing and its accessories should not be deformed.
