AIRSCAPE™ BACKPANEL
Every Talon/Tempest Series pack
features the AirScape™ backpanel,
a mesh covered, ridge molded foam
backpanel that is lightweight and
supportive with integrated channels and
central air chimney for ventilation.
BIOSTRETCH™ HARNESS
The Talon/Tempest BioStretch™ gender
specific harness consists of mesh
covered, die cut foam with sewn in
spacer mesh, a stretch woven harness
pocket and an adjustable sternum strap
with rescue whistle buckle to provide the
utmost in comfortable and stable carry.
BIOSTRETCH™ HIPBELT
The Talon/Tempest BioStretch™ gender
specific built-in hipbelt is a mesh
covered, die cut slotted foam hipbelt
featuring zippered stretch mesh pockets
and a modified straight ErgoPull™
closure system providing comfortable,
stable load transfer and carry.
STRETCH WOVEN SIDE POCKETS
(Excludes Talon/Tempest 6)
Each Talon/Tempest Series Pack
features dual side stretch woven side
pockets providing accessible external
storage options. The side pockets on
the four largest Talon models(44, 33,
22, 18)and the four largest Tempest
models(40, 30, 20, 16) feature
InsideOut™ compression allowing you
to tension and secure loads easily even
when the side pockets are in use. To
route the InsideOut™ compression strap,
A) locate the slider buckle to the top and
side of the stretch woven side pocket
and unthread the webbing through this
buckle. Now route the webbing by B)
positioning the slider buckle inside or
outside of the side pocket and reversing
the process above.
STOW-ON-THE-GO™
TREKKING POLE ATTACHMENT
(Excludes Talon/Tempest 11, 9, 6)
The Stow-on-the-Go™ trekking pole
attachment is designed to conveniently
stow your poles when not in use. To
operate: shorten trekking poles to a
safe, manageable size, A) locate the
elasticized loop below the side pocket
on the left side of pack then pull loop
away from the side pocket and insert
the basket end of your poles. B) On the
left harness strap locate the trekking
pole icon, C) engage the cord lock
beneath the fabric patch with your
thumb and forefinger and pull up on the
cord to open, place pole handles in the
loop and tighten with the cord lock to
secure. Reverse to remove.
TOOL ATTACHMENT
(Excludes Talon/Tempest 6)
Lower tool loops work in conjunction
with fixed bungee tool tie-offs to provide
stable, secure ice tool carry. To utilize
this feature, slide the tool shaft through
the loop and flip the shaft up towards
the top of the pack using the bungee tool
tie-off to secure. Reverse this process
to remove.
EXTERNAL HYDRATION
Located between the Talon/Tempest
backpanel and main pack body is an
exterior hydration compartment.
(Talon/Tempest 6 have bottle sleeves.)
A) Locate the H2O icon and loosen load
lifter straps at the top of the pack. B)
Place the reservoir in the compartment
using the sewn-in hanger to hold it
upright. C) Route the hose left/right
through elastic routers on the harness
as preferred, close compartment and
re-tension load lifter straps.
HYDRAULICS RESERVOIR
Add an Osprey Hydraulics™ 2 or
3 liter hydration reservoir or a
Hydraulics™ LT 1.5 or 2.5 liter
hydration reservoir to your pack
for stable, efficient, on-the-go
water management. For more

GENDER SPECIFIC FIT
The Tempest 40, 30, 20, 16, 9 and 6 are the women’s specific
counterparts to the Talon Series. The Tempest’s harness, hipbelt
and two available torso sizes are all designed to fit a woman’s body,
prov iding the same level of performance for women that we’ve
established in our Talon pack for men.
HARNESS ADJUSTMENT
(Talon 44/33/22,Tempest 40/30/20)
To adjust the Talon/Tempest
harnesses, A) loosen load lifter
straps at top of harness and slide
a hand between the backpanel
and harness to release hook and
loop closure. Slide harness into B)
position using arrows to guide
and press firmly on backpanel to
reengage hook and loop closure
TOP POCKET REMOVAL
(Talon 44/33, Tempest 40/30)
To remove the top pocket, release
the top pocket retention straps
on each side of the pack to flip
back the top pocket. A) Locate the
slider buckle by the grab handle
near the top of the backpanel and
thread the webbing through the
buckle. On each corner of the B)
top pocket find the connecting
webbing threaded through a slider
buckle. Unthread this webbing
on both sides and the top pocket
is now removed. Reverse to re-
attach.
LIDLOCK™ HELMET ATTACHMENT
(Talon 22/11, Tempest 20/9)
To use the LidLock™ helmet
attachment system, A) Locate
LidLock™ clip near the top of the
pack ’s front panel and pull away
from the pack. In the vertical B)
position, pass LidLock™ through
helmet vent from the bottom and
engage in horizontal position.
On the right outside panel of the
pack find a cord loop to increase
or decrease tension. Reverse to
remove helmet.
TALON 11/TEMPEST 9
The Talon11/ Tempes t 9 are gender specific panel loading technical daypacks ideal for
day hiking, mountain biking and extended trail runs.
