Troubleshooting
If you perceive any unexpected behavior from your Korg B1/
B1SP Digital Piano, please see if this guide addresses your con-
cern. If not, or if the problem persists, contact your nearest Korg
distributor.
The Instrument turns o
The B1/B1SP is equipped with an automatic o feature; if the key-
board has not been touched for over 30 minutes, the instrument
will turn itself o. To use the B1/B1SP, press the power buon
again to turn it on.
The Sound is interrupted
The instrument sounds in the B1/B1SP are created by recording
individual samples made from the actual instruments, process-
ing them, and combining them to achieve the desired sound.
Depending on the detail and complexity of the sound, one, two,
or even three samples may be combined to create each note. The
number of samples used will aect the overall polyphony of the
B1/B1SP. For example, the E. Piano 1 sound only uses one sample
per note played, so the overall polyphony is 120. Most sounds use
two samples perf note played, so the available polyphony is 60
notes. With complex and detailed sounds like Concert Piano and
Ballad Piano, more samples are required to create an authentic
sound, and the polyphony will top out at 40 notes. Even with only
10 ngers to play notes, the notes being held using the damper
pedal will also consume polyphony. In extreme cases, this could
result in the sound appearing to be interrupted as a sustained
note drops out, etc.
The pitch or tone of the piano sounds incorrect in some key regions
The B1/B1SPs piano sounds replicate the sound of an actual piano
as faithfully as possible. This means that in some regions of the
keyboard, you may sense that the overtones seem stronger, or that
