INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the i-tec THUNDERBOLTℱ 2 docking staon. The docking staon will allow you
easy and extremely powerful connecon of all accessories to your Mac / PC. It oers two Thunderboltℱ
ports with the transmission speed of 20 Gbps. One will be used for connecng your Mac and the other one
can be used for connecon of other Thunderboltℱ devices such as external drives or monitors.
Using the 4K HDMI interface you can connect any monitor with resoluon up to 4096x2160 pixels. Then a
you have three USB 3.0 ports that can be used for connecon of your USB devices as well as for charging of
phones, tablets, or other mobile devices.
Then you have a Gigabit Ethernet port for fast internet connecon. A separated microphone input and
earphone output will allow conference calls as well as wonderful experience from movies or games.

TERMINOLOGY
 Interface / port / c nector / input / sloton – a place where two devices are physically connected.
 Chipset – a semiconductor device in a Mac / PC controlling the funcon of a port.
 Thunderbolt / Thunderbolt ℱ2 ℱ– standard for fast hardwar interface that allows connecon of a e
devices (peripherals - monitors, external HDD, HUBs,...) to a computer over an expansion bus. A
single allows connecon of HUBs or serial connecon of up to six ThunderboltThunderboltℱ port ℱ
devices. Thunderboltℱ 2 is compable with Thunderboltℱ.backwards
 USB 3.0 / 2.0 standard for USB interface / port for connecon of various USB devices. Various –a
USB devices can be connected to the docking staon using the USB interface type A.
 HDMI standard for digital graphic interface port for connecon of monitors and other –a al /
graphic display devices. al
 Display port (DP) standard for digital graphic interface / port with a higher resoluon used for –a al
connecon of monitors and other graphic display devices. al
 LAN (Local Area Network) Ethernet is currently the most commonly used LAN and in the docking –
staon it can reach a theorecal transmission speed up to 1 Gbit/s designated GLAN / RJ-45. –
 Audio designaon for audio input (microphone) or output (earphones / loudspeakers) devices. –

Thunderboltℱ - you will use one port for connecng your Mac and the other one can be used for
connecon of other Thunderboltℱ devices.

Mac computer: OS X 10.9 or higher with a Thunderboltℱ interface and the most recent rmware and
soware.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DOCKING STATION
