2Powering Your Sensor
Hold the sensor in one hand, label facing up.
Pinch the battery insulator (pull tab) close to
the battery cover and slowly pull as shown
(sideways, parallel to the battery cover).
Discard the pull tab. Place the sensor aside
and proceed to Step 3, Powering your
Gateway.
7Replacing the AAA Batteries
When it is time to replace the batteries, use only new alkaline non-re-
chargeable AAA batteries.
Locate a clean table to work on and have the
tools ready.
Use a #0 or #00 phillips screwdriver and remove
one of the battery cover screws. Carefully place
the screw to the side.
Loosen the other screw ~3 turns, keep this
screw attached to the cover.
Place the sensor on the table with the
label facing up and place one hand on the
sensor as shown.
Place the flat head screwdriver under the
screw head and lift up the screw head. The battery
cover will lift up as well.
Remove the battery cover.
NOTE: The cover is designed to fit tightly in the
housing so this may take some force.
Install 2 new non-rechargeable AAA batteries
Replace the battery cover. Press down the cover
and then tighten the screws. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
CAUTION Use care and follow the battery installation
instructions carefully to maintain the water tightness design of your
Water Leak Sensor.
Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
Dispose of used batteries in accordance with local battery disposal
procedures.
4Connect your Gateway
Open the SmartHQ app and touch the “+” located at the top right-
hand corner of the app homepage.
Select GE brand.
Your Gateway should appear at the top. Touch Connect. Follow
the instructions from the app to complete the connection of your
gateway and to pair your sensor(s).
To avoid confusion, after pairing your sensor, it is recommended
that you give each sensor a custom nickname and place the sensor
in its appropriate location before proceeding to the next sensor.
3Powering your Gateway
Plug the USB-C cable (included) into
the USB-C port on the Gateway.
Plug the USB connector into a USB-A
power plug (included). Use UL listed supply
with max output power rating of 5 W.
5Placing your Sensor
Your sensor can be placed in locations where a
potential water leak may occur. For example, in your
laundry room, under your kitchen sink pipes, near
your water heater, etc.
For a water heater with catch pan:
Place the double sided tape (included) on the back of
the sensor. Remove the backing and place the sensor against your water
heater with the sensor probes on the bottom and the button at the top.
6Water Leak Notication/Alert
When the Sensor detects a water leak, a signal is sent to the
Gateway. You will then receive a notification/alert on your mobile
device that, A leak was detected”.
To clear the Leak from the app, remove the sensor from the leak
source and close and open the app after approximately 1 minute.

nuevas alcalinas no recargables.

tornillos.
