in this manual or have any questions, STOP and get help from a qualified service technician or the local gas and
electric utility.
DANGER
To avoid danger of fire, explosion or asphyxiation from carbon monoxide, the water heater and its vent hood
must be properly installed and vented to the outdoors as outlined in the Air Supply and Ventilation section of this
manual and in accordance with local codes, the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54, or the Natural
Gas and Propane Installation Code, CSA B149.1. DO NOT operate the water heater unless its ventilation and air
supply system are installed and operating according to this manual and local or national codes.
