Time indications
NOTE: If your watch has a screw-down crown,
it must be unscrewed before you can adjust the
settings, then screwed back into the case when
you are done.
Pull the crown out to position , then turn it in B
either direction until the correct date is reached.
Push the crown back in to position A.
Do not forget to screw the crown back into the case.

correct time, making sure the date changes at
midnight, not at noon. Then, in synchronization

An important feature of every self-winding watch
is its power reserve. Before putting your watch
on, you should wind it up manually (20 clockwise
turns of the crown) in order to create an initial
power reserve for its operation.
To retain its power reserve, the watch must be
worn continuously and actively for at least 8 hours
per day. Should you be unable to wear your watch
for the minimum amount of time each day or
should it be left idle for 24 hours at a stretch,
wind it manually as outlined above.
Our technical centers will be glad to answer
any questions you may have about winding your
automatic watch.
Power reserve
If your watch is equipped with a screw-down
crown, it must be unscrewed before you can set
the time or date.
Crown in position A.
If the watch has not been worn for several days,
wind it up manually by carefully turning the crown
clockwise for 20 revolutions.
On ce you have don e so, the movement of
your wrist during normal daily activities will
automatically wind your watch.
Do not forget to screw back the crown.

Adjusting chronograph hand zero
positions
Example:
One or more chronograph hands are not in the
correct zero position, and need to be adjusted
(e.g. after a battery change).
1 Pull th e crow n ou t to position C (the 3
chronograph hands will return to their zero
position, correct or incorrect).
2 Simult aneously press and hold pushbut-
tons a and for at least 2 seconds (the b
centre seconds timer hand will turn through
360° correction mode activated).

All EBEL watches are tested to meet international
standards for water resistance. Like all mechanisms,
your watch and its metal bracelet are subject to
wear, especially since your watch runs day after day
without interruption. It is therefore important to care
for your watch properly, and, in particular, to protect
it rigorously against moisture and dust.
The water resistance of your EBEL wristwatch
has been tested under conditions corresponding
to submersion in water to the depth engraved on
the case-back. We recommend that you routinely
rinse your watch and its metal bracelet carefully with
fresh water and clean them with a soft brush and
liquid soap. Such steps, if carried out regularly, will
help preserve the watch and prevent it from getting
clogged with dust and sweat, especially after being
worn in a pool or the sea, or while you are engaged
in a sport that involves exposure to dust or sand.
Your EBEL watch can be worn safely in the shower,
while swimming or during aquatic sports, but it must
never be used as a diving watch. Do not operate the
watch crown, the push-buttons on a chronograph
model, or any other pushers/buttons when the
timepiece is wet or under water.
The exposure of a timepiece to strong magnetic
fields will affect its time-keeping, and may cause
it to stop. A quartz watch should resume working
with its original accuracy when removed from the
magnetic field; a mechanical timepiece may require
demagnetization before it will operate again. If this
happens, take the watch to an EBEL dealer.
The EBEL brand will not be responsible for
any damage caused by or related to leakage
originating from improper handling or damage to
the case, crown, gaskets or crystal.
To ensure a watch’s water-resistant integrit y,
yearly maintenance is required. The gaskets and
crown which seal the case are subject to wear
and deterioration under normal use. These parts
should be inspected and replaced as needed each
time the watch is opened for service, including
battery changes.

Finally, any operation carried out by an authorized
EBEL service center is automatically covered by
a 12-month warranty, even if the 3-year warranty
has expired.

CARE AND WARRANTY
Except for leather straps, all EBEL watches are
covered by an international warranty against any
manufacturing defect, that will be honored by all
EBEL official service centers. The EBEL warranty
is valid for a period of three years from the date of
purchase of the watch from the authorized retailer.
For quartz watches, the battery is covered by the
warranty for two years from the date of purchase
only. Beyond these years of warranty, the cost of
replacement of the battery at an official EBEL
service center shall be borne by the consumer.
Such a service includes: control of the movement;
bat te r y repl ace ment ; wa tch- ca se ga sket s
replacement and water-resistance test.
This international warranty shall only be valid if
the watch has b een purchase d from a retailer
approved by EBEL or its distributors, whose name,
address and signature must appear on the front
of the warranty card together with the date of
purchase, the model of the watch and its serial
number.
This warranty card must be presented together
with the watch to an official EBEL service center
or dealer for all in-warranty servicing. Any work
performed on an EBEL watch by an unauthorized
person or entity, or any alteration to the serial
number engraved on the watch, shall automatically
render this international warranty null and void.

case of damage resulting from improper use or

The terms of this international warranty do not in

couronne vissée, celle-ci doit être dévissée pour

Tournez la couronne dans le sens horaire jusqu’à

La réserve de marche est une spécificité majeure
de toute montre à remontage automatique. Avant
de mettre votre montre, vous devez la remonter
manuellement (20 rotations de la couronne dans
le sens horaire) afin de générer une réserve de
marche initiale et lui permettre de fonctionner.
Pour préserver sa réserve de marche, la montre
doit être portée en permanence et activement
pendant au moins 8 heures par jour. Si vous ne
pouvez pas porter votre montre pendant cette
durée minimale quotidienne ou si vous la délaissez
24 heures d’affilée, remontez-la manuellement
comme indiqué ci-dessus.
Nos centres techniques répondront avec plaisir
à vos éventuelles questions concernant le
remontage de votre montre automatique.
Réserve de marche
Si votre montre est équipée d’une couronne vissée,
celle-ci doit être dévissée pour pouvoir régler
l’heure ou la date.

Si la montre n’a pas été portée pendant plusieurs
jours, remontez-la manuellement en tournant avec
précaution la couronne dans le sens horaire ; la
couronne doit effectuer 20 rotations.

remonter automatiquement votre montre.

ENTRETIEN ET GARANTIE
Enfin, toute intervention effectuée par un Centre
de service agréé EBEL est automatiquement
couverte par une garantie de 12 mois, même si la
garantie de 3 ans est échue.
Garantie
À l’exception des bracelets en cuir, toutes les
montres EBEL sont couvertes par une garantie
internationale contre tout défaut de fabrication.
Cette garantie EBEL, honorée par tous les
Centres de service officiels de la marque, est
valable trois ans à partir de la date d’achat de la
montre auprès d’un détaillant agréé.
Pour les montres à quartz, la pile est couverte
par la garantie pendant deux ans à partir de la
date d’achat. Au-delà de la deuxième année,
le remplacement de la pile dans un centre de
service officiel EBEL est à la charge du client.
Un tel service inclut : le contrôle du mouvement ;
le remplacement de la pile ; le remplacement des
joints de la boîte de montre et le test d’étanchéité.

uniquement si la montre a été achetée auprès
d’un détailla nt agréé par EBEL ou p ar ses
distributeurs, dont le nom, l’adresse et la signature
doivent apparaître sur la carte de garantie, avec
la date d’achat, le modèle de la montre et son
numéro de série.
Cette carte de garantie doit être présentée avec
la montre au Centre de service officiel EBEL ou à
un détaillant agréé pour obtenir tout service relatif
à la garantie. Toute intervention effectuée sur une
montre EBEL par une personne non autorisée ou
toute atteinte portée au numéro de série gravé sur
la montre annule automatiquement cette garantie
internationale.
Toutes les montres EBEL sont accompagnées
d’instructions d’utilisation comprenant des
recommandations de nettoyage et d’entretien
qu’il convient de respect er. Cett e garantie
internationale ne s’applique pas en cas de
dégradation causée par une mauvaise utilisation
de la montre.
En aucun cas les termes de cet te garantie
internationale ne peuvent restreindre ou affecter
les éventuels droits statut aires conférés au
consommateur par la loi en vigueur dans le pays
d’achat.

zu verschrauben.

Die Gangreserve ist ein wichtiges Merkmal jeder
Uhr mit automatischem Aufzug. Bevor Sie Ihre
Uhr anlegen, sollten Sie sie von Hand aufziehen
(20 Kronenumdrehungen im Uhrzeigersinn), um
eine ausreichende Gangreserve für den Betrieb
aufzubauen.
Um die Gangreserve a u f r echt zuer h a lt e n ,
muss die Uhr täglich mindestens 8 Stunden
ununterbrochen getragen und bewegt werden.
Wird die Uhr weniger als 8 Stunden pro Tag
getragen oder liegt sie 24 Stunden lang ohne
Bewegung, ziehen Sie sie wie oben beschrieben
von Hand auf.
Unsere technischen Servicecenter stehen Ihnen
gerne zur Verfügung, wenn Sie Fragen zum
Aufzug Ihrer Automatikuhr haben.
Gangreserve
Wenn Ihre Uhr über eine verschraubte Krone
verfügt, müssen Sie diese lösen, bevor Sie die
Uhrzeit oder das Datum einstellen können.
Krone in Position A.
Wenn Sie Ihre Uhr mehrere Tage nicht getragen
haben, ziehen Sie sie von Hand auf, indem Sie die
Krone sorgfältig 20-mal im Uhrzeigersinn drehen.
Danach wird die Uhr durch Ihre Handgelenkbe-
wegungen während Ihrer täglichen Aktivitäten
automatisch aufgezogen.
Vergessen Sie nicht, die Krone wieder im Gehäuse
zu verschrauben.
