for any errors in text or images and any necessary changes made to technical data. If you have any questions
concerning technical problems please contact our Customer Services (see address on reverse.)
Warning! When you are using electric hand tools theîincluded safety instructions should be followed
to avoid risk of ïŹre, electric shock, and personal injury.
Always pull theîplug out of theîwall socket before servicing and adjusting theîproduct.
1. Safety Requirements â Handheld power tools
General Safety Requirements â EN 60745-1
Warning! Read all theîinstructions. Failure to adhere to theîfollowing instructions may lead to electric shocks,
ïŹres and/or serious injury. The term âpower toolsâ in theîwarning text below refers to your handheld mains
operated or battery operated tool.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
1) Work area
a) Keep theîwork area clean and well illuminated. Cluttered and poorly lit areas invite accidents.
b) Do not use power tools in explosive environments, e.g. near ïŹammable liquids, gases or dust.
Power tools generate sparks that can easily ignite dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and other bystanders away from theîarea where you are using theîpower tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose your concentration and control.
2) Electrical safety
a) The power toolâs plug must ïŹt correctly into theîwall socket. Never modify theîplug in any way. Never use
anîadaptor together with earthed power tools. UnmodiïŹed plugs and suitable wall sockets decrease theîrisk
of electric shock.
b) Avoid physical contact with earthed objects, such as pipes, radiators, ovens or refrigerators.
There is anîincreased risk of receiving anîelectrical shock if your body is earthed.
c) Do not expose theîpower tool to rain or other wet conditions. If water gets inside aîpower tool it increases
theîrisk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse theîlead. Never use theîlead to carry theîtool or pull theîplug from theîwall socket.
Keep theîlead away from heat, oil, sharp edges and movable parts. Damaged or tangled leads increase
theîrisk of electric shock.
e) When using power tools outdoors, use anîextension lead that is suitable for this purpose.
Use of anîextension lead designed for outdoor use decreases theîrisk for electric shock.
f) If for some reason you must use aîpower tool in aîwet environment, always connect it to theîmains via
an earth-fault circuit breaker such as anîRCD (residual current device). Using anîRCD signiïŹcantly reduces
theîchances of you receiving anîelectric shock.

3) Personal safety
a) Pay attention to your actions and use common sense when using power tools. Never use power tools if
you are tired or under theîinïŹuence of drugs, alcohol or medication. One moment of inattention while using
aîpower tool may result in serious injury.
b) Use protective equipment. Always wear safety glasses. Using protective clothing such as dust masks,
non-slip safety shoes, helmets and ear defenders when needed decreases theîrisk of injury.
c) Avoid accidental starts. Make sure that theîpower switch is set to OFF before plugging theîtool into aîwall
socket. Never carry aîpower tool with your ïŹnger on theîtrigger and never connect theîpower tool to aîwall
socket when theîswitch is set to ON, since it may result in injury.
d) Remove all service tools/keys before switching on theîpower tool. A service tool left on aîmoving part of
theîpower tool may result in injury.
e) Do not overreach. Make sure you stand steady and well balanced at all times. This will allow you to have
more control in unexpected situations.
f) Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose-ïŹtting clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothes and gloves away
from moving parts. Loose-ïŹtting clothes, jewellery or long hair could become caught in moving parts.
g) If equipment for dust extraction or collection is available, make sure that it is connected and used properly.
Using technical aids may decrease dust related hazards.
4) Use and maintenance of power tools
a) Do not force theîpower tool. Use aîpower tool suitable for theîwork you are about to perform. The proper
power tool will perform theîtask better and safer if used at theîcorrect feed rate.
b) Never use theîpower tool if theîpower switch does not switch theîtool on and off properly. All power tools
that cannot be controlled by theîpower switch are dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Unplug theîlead from theîwall socket before making any adjustments, changing accessories or storing
theîpower tool. These precautions reduce theîrisk of theîpower tool starting unexpectedly.
d) Store any power tools that are not being used out of childrenâs reach. Do not allow people who are
unfamiliar with theîtool or its functions to operate theîtool. Power tools can be dangerous if they fall into
theîhands of inexperienced users.
e) Maintaining power tools. Check for any incorrect settings, parts that catch, broken parts or anything else
which may cause theîpower tool to malfunction. If something is damaged it must be repaired before use.
Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp blades are less likely to jam and
are easier to control.
g) Use theîpower tool, accessories and similar according to theîinstructions and in anîappropriate way suitable
for theîtype of power tool used. Also take into consideration your work environment and theîtype of work
to be done. Using theîpower tool for aîpurpose other than that for which it is intended could result in
aîdangerous situation.
5) Service
a) Repairs and service should only be performed by qualiïŹed tradesmen, and only with original spare parts.
This guarantees that theîsafety of theîpower tool is maintained.
