General safety instructions for cordless powerîtools
Warning: Readîall theîinstructions. Failure to adhere to theîfollowing instructions may
lead to electric shocks, ïŹres and/or serious injury. Theîterm âpower toolsâ in theîwarning
text below refers to your handheld mains operated or battery operated tool.

1) Workîarea
a) Keepîtheîwork area clean and well illuminated. Cluttered and poorly lit areas
inviteîaccidents.
b) Doînot use power tools in explosive environments, e.g. near ïŹammable liquids,
gases or dust. Powerîtools generate sparks that can easily ignite dust orîfumes.
c) Keepîchildren and other bystanders aîsafe distance away from theîarea where
you intend to use theîpower tool. Distractions can cause you to lose your
concentration and control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Theîpower toolâs plug must ïŹt correctly into theîwall socket. Neverîmodify theîplug
in any way. Neverîuse anîadaptor together with earthed power tools. UnmodiïŹed
plugs and suitable wall sockets minimize theîrisk of electric shocks.
b) Avoidîphysical contact with earthed objects, such as pipes, radiators, ovens or
refrigerators. Thereîis anîincreased risk of receiving anîelectrical shock if your
bodyîis earthed.
c) Doînot expose theîpower tool to rain or other wet conditions. Ifîwater gets inside it
increases theîrisk of electric shock.
d) Doînot abuse theîmains lead. Neverîuse theîlead to carry theîtool or pull theîplug
from aîwall socket. Keepîtheîlead away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving
parts. Damaged or tangled leads increase theîrisk of electric shock.
e) Whenîusing power tools outdoors, use anîextension lead that is suitable for
theîpurpose. Theîuse of anîextension lead designed for outdoor use decreases
theîrisk of electric shocks.
f) Ifîfor some reason you must use aîpower tool in aîwet environment, always
connect it to theîmains via anîearth-fault circuit breaker such as anîRCD (residual
current device). UsingîanîRCD signiïŹcantly reduces theîchances of you receiving
anîelectric shock.
