General Safety Instructions
Warning: Read all theîinstructions.
Failure to adhere to theîfollowing instructions may lead to electric shocks, ïŹres and/or
serious injury.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
Theîterm âpower toolâ in theîfollowing text refers to your handheld mains operated or
battery operated tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Cluttered and poorly lit areas Keep theîwork area clean and well illuminated.
invite accidents.
b) Do not use power tools in explosive environments, such as in theîpresence
of ïŹammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite
dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and other bystanders away from theîarea where you are using
theîpower tool. Distractions can cause you to lose your concentration and control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Theîplug of theîpower tool must ïŹt correctly into theîwall socket. Never modify
theîplug in any way. Never use anîadaptor plug together with earthed power
tools. UnmodiïŹed plugs and matching outlets will reduce theîrisk of electric shocks.
b) Avoid physical contact with earthed objects such as pipes, radiators, ovens
and refrigerators. There is anîincreased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
c) Water entering Do not expose theîpower tool to rain or other wet conditions.
aîpower tool will increase theîrisk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse theîmains lead. Never use theîlead for carrying, pulling or
unplugging theîpower tool. Keep theîlead away from heat, oil, sharp edges
and moving parts. Damaged or tangled leads increase theîrisk of electric shock.
ENGLISH
3
e) When using power tools outdoors, use anîextension lead that is suitable for
this purpose. Theîuse of anîextension lead designed for outdoor use decreases
theîrisk of electric shocks.
f) If theîuse of theîpower tool in aîwet environment is unavoidable, aîwall
socket equipped with aîresidual current device (RCD) should be used.
Theîuse of anîRCD (with aîtripping current of 30îmA and which trips within 30îms)
signiïŹcantly reduces theîrisk of electrocution.
3) Personal safety
a) Pay attention to what you are doing and use common sense when using
power tools. Never use power tools if you are tired or under theîinïŹuence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. One moment of inattention while using aîpower
tool may result in aîserious injury.
b) Wear protective clothing. Always wear safety glasses. Using protective
clothing such as dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, helmets and ear defenders
decreases theîrisk of injury.
c) Avoid accidental starts. Make sure that theîpower switch is set to OFF before
plugging theîpower tool into aîwall socket, ïŹtting theîbattery or picking up/
carrying theîpower tool. Carrying aîpower tool with your ïŹnger on theîpower
switch/trigger or connecting theîpower tool to aîwall socket when theîpower
switch is set to ON is inviting anîaccident.
d) Aîservice Remove all service tools/keys before switching on theîpower tool.
tool left on aîrotating part of theîpower tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables
better control of theîpower tool in unexpected situations.
f) Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose-ïŹtting clothing or jewellery.
Keep hair, clothes and gloves away from moving parts. Loose-ïŹtting clothes,
jewellery or long hair could become caught in moving parts.
g) If equipment for theîextraction and collection of dust is available, make sure
it is connected and used properly. Use of dust collection equipment can reduce
dust related hazards.
4) Use and maintenance of the power tool
a) Do not force theîpower tool. Use theîcorrect power tool for your application.
Theîcorrect power tool will do theîjob better and safer if used at theîrate for which
it was designed.
b) Never use theîpower tool if theîpower switch does not switch theîtool on
and off properly. Any power tool that cannot be controlled by theîpower switch is
dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Unplug theîlead from theîwall socket or remove theîbattery before making
any adjustments, changing accessories or storing theîpower tool. These
precautions reduce theîrisk of theîpower tool starting unexpectedly.
d) Store power tools that are not being used out of childrenâs reach. Do not
allow people who are unfamiliar with theîtool or these instructions to operate
theîtool. Power tools are dangerous in theîhands of untrained users.
