1.Safety Requirements â Handheld power tools
1.1 General Safety Requirements â EN 60745-1
Caution! Read all theîinstructions. Failure to adhere to theîfollowing instructions may lead to electric shocks,
ïŹres and/or serious injury. Theîterm âpower toolâ in theîfollowing text refers to your handheld mains operated
or battery operated tool.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
1) Work area
a) Cluttered and poorly lit areas invite accidents.Keep theîwork area clean and well illuminated.
b) Do not use power tools in explosive environments, e.g. near ïŹammable liquids, gases or dust.
Power tools generate sparks that can easily ignite dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and other bystanders away from theîarea where you are using theîpower tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose concentration and control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Theîpower toolâs plug must ïŹt correctly into theîwall socket. Never modify theîplug in any way.
Never use anîadaptor plug together with earthed power tools. UnmodiïŹed plugs and suitable wall
sockets minimize theîrisk of electric shocks.
b) Avoid physical contact with earthed objects, such as pipes, radiators, ovens or refrigerators.
There is anîincreased risk of receiving anîelectrical shock if your body is earthed.

3) Personal safety
a) Pay attention to your actions and use common sense when using power tools. Never use power
tools if you are tired or under theîinïŹuence of drugs, alcohol or medication. One moment of inattention
while using aîpower tool may result in serious injury.
b) Use protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Using protective clothing such as dust masks,
non-slip safety shoes, helmets and ear defenders when needed decreases theîrisk of injury.
c) Avoid accidental starts. Make sure that theîpower switch is set to OFF before plugging theîtool into
aîwall socket. Never carry aîpower tool with your ïŹnger on theîtrigger and never connect theîpower tool to
aîwall socket when theîswitch is set to ON, since it may result in injury.

in unexpected situations.
f) Wear suitable attire. Do not wear loose-ïŹtting clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothes and gloves
away from moving parts. Loose-ïŹtting clothes, jewellery or long hair could potentially become caught in any
moving parts.
g) If equipment for dust extraction or collection is available, make sure that it is connected and used
properly. Use of dust collection equipment can reduce dust related hazards.
