1. Zum Kennenlernen
1.1 Was ist das EM22 Muscle Booster Set?

1.2 Was ist und kann EMS?
Die elektrische Muskelstimulation (EMS) ist eine weit verbreitete und allgemein anerkannte Methode und findet seit Jahren
in der Sport- und Rehabilitationsmedizin Anwendung. Im Sport- und Fitnessbereich wird EMS unter anderem ergänzend zum konven-
tionellen Muskeltraining eingesetzt, um die Leistungsfähigkeit von Muskelgruppen zu erhöhen und um die Körperproportionen den
gewünschten ästhetischen Ergebnissen anzupassen. Die Anwendung der EMS geht in zwei Richtungen. Zum einen kann eine gezielte
Kräftigung der Muskulatur hervorgerufen werden (aktivierende Anwendung) und zum anderen kann auch eine entspannende, erholen-
de Wirkung (relaxierende Anwendung) erzielt werden.
Zur aktivierenden Anwendung gehören:

Muskeltraining zur Erhöhung der Ausdauerleistung und/oder
•
Muskeltraining zur Unterstützung der Kräftigung bestimmter Muskeln oder Muskelgruppen, um gewünschte Veränderungen der
Körperproportionen zu erreichen.
Zur relaxierenden Anwendung gehören:
•
Muskelrelaxation zur Lösung von muskulären Verspannungen.
•
Verbesserung bei muskulären Müdigkeitserscheinungen.
•
Beschleunigung der Muskelregeneration nach hoher muskulärer Leistung (z.B. nach einem Marathon).
EMS-Geräte funktionieren durch Einbringung von Strom über die Haut. Der Gel-Film dient hierbei als Übertragungsmedium, welches
einem natürlichen Verschleiß unterliegt. Ist kein ausreichender Kontakt über den Gel-Film mehr möglich, das -Pad haftet nicht EMS
vollflächig auf der Haut, muss dieser getauscht werden. Andernfalls kann die partiell erhöhte Stromdichte zu Haut irritationen führen.

2. Wichtige Hinweise
Hinweis
Da die Geräte auch einzeln verwendet werden können, beispielsweise nur das Sixpack-Pad oder nur die Arm/Bein Pads, ist nachfolgend
immer von dem „EMS-Pad“ oder dem „Gerät“ die Rede. Alle Warninweise, Vorsichtssmassnahmen, etc. der kompletten Gebrauchsan-
weisung gelten gleichermaßen für das Sixpack Pad und die beiden Arm/Bein Pads.
Hinweise zur Anwendung
WARNUNG!
Um gesundheitlichen Schäden vorzubeugen, ist in folgenden Fällen von der Anwendung des EMS-Pad
dringend abzuraten:
•
Bei implantierten elektrischen Geräten (wie z.B. Herzschritt machern).
•
Bei Vorhandensein von metallenen Implantaten.
•
Bei Insulinpumpenträgern.
•
Bei hohem Fieber (z.B. > 39 °C).
•
Bei bekannten oder akuten Herzrhythmusstörungen und anderen Erregungsbildungs- und Leitungsstörungen am Herzen.
•
Bei Anfallsleiden (z.B. Epilepsie).
•
Bei einer bestehenden Schwangerschaft.
•
Bei vorliegenden Krebserkrankungen.
•
Bei akuten oder chronischen Erkrankungen des Magen-Darmtrakts.
•
Nach Operationen, bei denen verstärkte Muskelkontraktionen den Heilungsprozess stören könnten.
•
Wenn Sie an metabolischer Arthritis leiden.
•
Eine Anwendung in der Nähe des Herzens muss unterbleiben. Stimulationselektroden dürfen an keiner Stelle des vorderen Brustkorbs
(durch Rippen und Brustbein gekennzeichnet) angewandt werden, insbesondere nicht an beiden großen Brustmuskeln.
Hier kann es das Risiko von Herzkammerflimmern erhöhen und einen Herzstillstand herbeiführen.
•
Am knöchernen Schädel, im Bereich des Mundes, des Rachenraumes oder des Kehlkopfes.
•
Im Bereich des Halses / Halsschlagader / über dem Nacken.
•
Im Bereich der Genitalien.
•
Auf akut oder chronisch erkrankter (verletzter oder entzündeter) Haut, (z.B. bei schmerzhaften und schmerzlosen Entzündungen,
Rötungen, Hautausschlägen (z.B. Allergien), Verbrennungen, Prellungen, Schwellungen und offenen sowie sich im Heilungsprozess
befindliche Wunden, an Operationsnarben die in der Heilung begriffen sind).
•
In Umgebungen mit hoher Feuchtigkeit wie z.B. im Badezimmer oder beim Baden oder Duschen.
•
Nicht nach Alkoholkonsum verwenden.
•
Bei einem gleichzeitigen Anschluss an ein Hochfrequenz-Chirurgiegerät.
•
Dieses Gerät ist nicht dafür bestimmt, durch Kinder oder Personen mit eingeschränkten physischen, sensorischen (z.B. Schmerz-
unempfindlichkeit) oder geistigen Fähigkeiten oder mangels Erfahrung und/oder mangels Wissen benutzt zu werden, es sei denn,
sie werden durch eine für ihre Sicherheit zuständige Person beaufsichtigt oder erhielten von ihr Anweisungen, wie das Gerät zu
benutzen ist.
Halten Sie vor einer Anwendung des Geräts Rücksprache mit Ihrem behandelnden Arzt bei:
•
Akuten Erkrankungen, insbesondere bei Verdacht oder Vorliegen von Bluthochdruckerkrankungen, Blutgerinnungsstörungen,
Neigung zu thrombo-embolischen Erkrankungen sowie bei bösartigen Neubildungen.
•
Allen Hauterkrankungen oder offenen Wunden.
•
Nicht abgeklärten chronischen Schmerzzuständen, unabhängig von der Körperregion.
•
Diabetes.
•
Allen Sensibilitätsstörungen mit reduziertem Schmerzempfinden (wie z.B. Stoffwechselstörungen).
•
Gleichzeitig durchgeführten medizinischen Behandlungen.
•
Mit der Stimulationsbehandlung auftretenden Beschwerden.
•
Beständigen Hautreizungen aufgrund von langzeitiger Stimulation an der gleichen Elektrodenstelle.
VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN:
•
Halten Sie das Gerät von Wärmequellen fern und verwenden Sie es nicht in der Nähe (~1 m) von Kurz- oder Mikrowellengeräten
(z.B. Handys), da dies zu unangenehmen Stromspitzen führen kann.
•
Setzen Sie das Gerät nicht direkter Sonne oder hohen Temperaturen aus.
•
Schützen Sie das Gerät vor Staub, Schmutz und Feuchtigkeit. Das Gerät niemals in Wasser oder andere Flüssigkeiten tauchen.
•
Das Gerät ist zur Eigenanwendung geeignet.
•
Das Gerät darf aus hygienischen Gründen nur bei einer Person angewendet werden.
•
Sollte das Gerät nicht korrekt funktionieren, sich Unwohlsein oder Schmerzen einstellen, brechen Sie die Anwendung sofort ab.
•
Schalten Sie das EMS-Pad ab, bevor Sie es anbringen bzw. entfernen.
•
Modifizieren Sie auf keinen Fall das EMS-Pad (z.B. durch Beschnitt). Dies führt zu höherer Stromdichte und kann gefährlich sein.
•
Benutzen Sie diese Geräte nicht gleichzeitig mit anderen Geräten, die nicht in diesem Geräte Set enthalten sind, die elektrische
Impulse an Ihren Körper abgeben.
•
Nicht im Schlaf, beim Führen eines Kraftfahrzeuges oder gleichzeitigem Bedienen von Maschinen anwenden.
•
Nicht anwenden bei allen Tätigkeiten, bei denen eine unvorhergesehene Reaktion (z.B. verstärkte Muskelkontraktion trotz niedri-
ger Intensität) gefährlich werden kann.
•
Achten Sie darauf, dass während der Stimulation keine metallischen Objekte wie Gürtelschnallen oder Halsbänder in Kontakt mit
den Elektroden gelangen können. Sollten Sie im Bereich der Anwendung Schmuck oder Piercings (z.B. Bauchnabelpiercing) tragen,
müssen Sie diese vor dem Gebrauch des Gerätes entfernen, da es sonst zu punktuellen Verbrennungen kommen kann.
•
Halten Sie das Gerät von Kindern fern, um eventuellen Gefahren vorzubeugen.
•
Eine Vorbehandlung der Haut mit fettenden Cremes oder Salben wird nicht empfohlen.
•
Verwenden Sie keine Klebebänder, Bandagen oder andere Hilfsmittel außer dem vorgesehenen Gel-Film, um das EMS-Pad auf Ihrer
Haut anzubringen. Andernfalls könnte die ungleichmäßige Haftung des Gel-Films zu Hautverletzungen führen.
•
Eine längere Stimulation an derselben Stelle kann zu Hautirritationen führen. Wenden Sie sich an einen Hautarzt, sollten die Hau-
tirritationen bestehen bleiben.
•
Führen Sie die Anwendung in den ersten Minuten im Sitzen oder Liegen durch, um in den seltenen Fällen vagaler Reaktion (Schwä-
chegefühl) nicht unnötiger Verletzungsgefahr ausgesetzt zu sein. Stellen Sie bei Eintreten eines Schwächegefühls sofort das Gerät
ab und legen Sie die Beine hoch (ca. 5 –10 Min.).
Hinweise zum Umgang mit Batterien
•
Wenn Flüssigkeit aus einer Batteriezelle mit Haut oder Augen in Kontakt kommt, die betroffene Stelle mit Wasser auswaschen und
ärztliche Hilfe aufsuchen.
•
Verschluckungsgefahr! Kleinkinder könnten Batterien verschlucken und daran ersticken. Daher Batterien für Kleinkin-
der unerreichbar aufbewahren!
•
Auf Polaritätskennzeichen Plus (+) und Minus (-) achten.
•
Wenn eine Batterie ausgelaufen ist, Schutzhandschuhe anziehen und das Batteriefach mit einem trockenen Tuch reinigen.
•
Schützen Sie Batterien vor übermäßiger Wärme.
•
Explosionsgefahr! Keine Batterien ins Feuer werfen.
•
Batterien dürfen nicht geladen oder kurzgeschlossen werden.
•
Bei längerer Nichtbenutzung des Geräts die Batterien aus dem Batteriefach nehmen.
•
Verwenden Sie nur denselben oder einen gleichwertigen Batterietyp.
•
Keine Akkus verwenden!
•
Keine Batterien zerlegen, öffnen oder zerkleinern.
•
Nehmen Sie die Batterie aus dem Artikel heraus, wenn diese erschöpft ist oder Sie den Artikel länger nicht benutzen. So vermeiden
Sie Schäden, die durch Auslaufen entstehen können.
•
Reinigen Sie die Batterie- und Gerätekontakte bei Bedarf vor dem Einlegen. Überhitzungsgefahr!
Beschädigung
•
Benutzen Sie das EMS-Pad bei Beschädigungen im Zweifelsfall nicht und wenden Sie sich an Ihren Händler oder an die angege-
bene Kundendienstadresse.
•
Schalten Sie das Gerät sofort aus, wenn es defekt ist oder Betriebsstörungen vorliegen.
•
Versuchen Sie in keinem Fall, das EMS-Pad selbständig zu öffnen und /oder zu reparieren. Lassen Sie Reparaturen nur vom Kun-
dendienst oder autorisierten Händlern durchführen. Bei Nichtbeachten erlischt die Garantie.
•
Der Hersteller haftet nicht für Schäden, die durch unsachgemäßen oder falschen Gebrauch verursacht wurden.
Reinigung
•
Entfernen Sie vor jeder Reinigung die Batterie aus dem Gerät.
•
Reinigen Sie das Gerät nach Gebrauch mit einem weichen, leicht angefeuchteten Tuch. Bei stärkerer Verschmutzung können Sie
das Tuch auch mit einer leichten Seifenlauge befeuchten.
•
Achten Sie darauf, dass kein Wasser in das Gerät eindringt. Falls dies doch einmal der Fall sein sollte, dann verwenden Sie das Ge-
rät erst dann wieder, wenn es vollständig getrocknet ist.
•
Benutzen Sie zum Reinigen keine chemischen Reiniger oder Scheuermittel.
Aufbewahrung
•
Bringen Sie nach der Anwendung den Schutzfilm wieder auf dem Gel-Film an.
•
Wenn Sie das Gerät längere Zeit nicht verwenden, empfehlen wir Ihnen, es in der Originalverpackung in trockener Umgebung und
ohne Beschwerung aufzubewahren.
3. Inbetriebnahme
Die nachfolgende Beschreibung der Inbetriebnahme und Anwendung gilt für das Sixpack Pad und die beiden Arm/Bein Pads.
3.1 Batterie einlegen

1. Drehen Sie den Deckel des Batteriefachs mit Hilfe einer Münze gegen den Uhrzeiger sinn.
2. Lösen Sie den Deckel mit Hilfe eines spitzen Gegenstands.
3. Legen Sie die Batterie so in das Batteriefach, dass der Pluspol (+) nach oben zeigt.
4. Schließen Sie den Deckel, indem Sie ihn im Uhrzeigersinn drehen.
3.2 Gel-Film anbringen

1. Entfernen Sie vorsichtig einen der Schutzfilme.

2. Bringen Sie den Gel-Film sorgfältig auf dem -Pad an und ziehen Sie vorsichEMS -
tig den Schutzfilm ab. Achten Sie darauf, dass der Rand des Gel-Films nicht über
das EMS-Pad übersteht.
Leicht schräg angebrachte Gel-Filme haben keine Auswirkung auf die Funktion.
WARNUNG!
Ziehen Sie den Schutzfilm vorsichtig und langsam ab und achten Sie darauf, dass die beiden Teile des selbsthaftenden Gel-Films auf
derselben Schutzfilm-Seite bleiben. Stellen Sie sicher, dass der selbsthaftende Gel-Film nicht beschädigt ist, da durch Schäden oder
Unebenheiten am Film eventuell Hautirritationen verursacht werden.
3.3 Anwendung
Das EMS Bauch Beine Bizeps Pad Set wurde speziell zum Aufbau und zur Straffung der Bauchmuskulatur sowie zur Entpannung der
Oberarm- und Oberschenkelmuskulatur entwickelt entwickelt.
Kleben Sie die EMS-Pads auf die zu behandelnde Körperstelle (siehe Abbildung).

die gewünschte Intensität zu erreichen, drücken Sie wiederholt den Knopf „+“.

Drücken und halten Sie den Knopf „–“ gedrückt bis Sie einen langen Piepton hören
um das EMS-Pad auszuschalten. Nach 20 Minuten schaltet es sich automatisch ab.
Bringen Sie nach der Anwendung den Schutzfilm wieder auf dem Gel-Film an.
Für ein optimales Ergebnis empfehlen wir einen 4 Wochen Trainingsplan. Beachten Sie hierbei folgende Punkte:
1. 1-2 Tage Ruhe.
2. Steigern Sie täglich die Intensität.
3. Eine stärkere Intensität kann zu besseren Ergebnissen führen. Dabei sollte die Stimulation aber nie unangenehm sein.
4. Führen Sie bei jeder Anwendung das komplette 20-minütige Programm durch.
Warten Sie mindestens 30 Minuten, bevor Sie das Gerät erneut nach erfolgter Stimulation verwenden.
Wichtiger Hinweis!
•
Das Gerät arbeitet nur bei ausreichend gutem Hautkontakt. Sollte dieser nicht gegeben sein, werden keine Stimulationsimpulse
gesendet und das Gerät piepst regelmäßig bis ein ausreichend guter Hautkontakt gegeben ist.
•
Schalten Sie das EMS-Pad aus bevor Sie es entfernen.
•
Bei schwacher Batterie (keine ausreichende Stimulation, keine Pieptöne), ersetzen Sie diese bitte!
•
Für die optimale Stimulation wird empfohlen, den Gel-Film-Wechsel gleichzeitig beim Wechsel der Batterie durchzuführen.
•
Benutzen Sie das EMS-Pad nicht häufiger als ein Mal pro Tag an derselben Stelle.
•
Bei fortwährendem Piepen schalten Sie das Gerät ab. Reinigen Sie den Gel-Film und versuchen Sie erneut, das Programm zu star-
ten. Besteht das fortwährende Piepen, ersetzen Sie den Gel-Film.
•
Wenn die Klebefähigkeit des Gel-Films nachlässt, ersetzen Sie ihn umgehend. Benutzen Sie das EMS-Pad erst wieder, wenn Sie den
Gel-Film ersetzt haben. Andernfalls könnte die ungleichmäßige Haftung des Gel-Films zu Hautverletzungen führen.
•
Wenn Sie unangenehme Stromspitzen spüren, schalten Sie das EMS-Pad aus und bringen Sie es an einer anderen Stelle an.

5. Entsorgung
Die verbrauchten, vollkommen entladenen Batterien müssen Sie über speziell gekennzeichnete Sammelbehälter,
Sondermüllannahmestellen oder über den Elektrohändler entsorgen. Sie sind gesetzlich dazu verpflichtet, die Bat-
terien zu entsorgen.
Diese Zeichen finden Sie auf schadstoffhaltigen Batterien:
Pb = Batterie enthält Blei, Cd = Batterie enthält Cadmium, Hg = Batterie enthält Quecksilber.
Im Interesse des Umweltschutzes darf das Gerät am Ende seiner Lebensdauer nicht mit dem Hausmüll entsorgt werden.
Die Entsorgung kann über entsprechende Sammelstellen in Ihrem Land erfolgen. Entsorgen Sie das Gerät gemäß der Elek-
tro- und Elektronik Altgeräte EG-Richtlinie – WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Bei Rückfragen wenden
Sie sich an die für die Entsorgung zuständige kommunale Behörde.

7. Was tun bei Problemen

- Prüfen Sie, ob die Batterie korrekt eingelegt ist und versuchen Sie erneut das Gerät anzuschalten.

Die Garantie gilt außerdem unbeschadet zwingender gesetzlicher Haftungsvorschriften.
Beurer garantiert die mangelfreie Funktionstüchtigkeit und die Vollständigkeit dieses Produktes.

1. Getting to know your device
1.1 What is the EM 22 Muscle Booster set?
The innovative EM 22 Muscle Booster set is a self-adhesive EMS device set for muscle training and muscle relaxation. The device can
be used extremely accurately thanks to the use of EMS technology. Made from medical-quality silicone, the three elegantly designed
EMS pads are extremely slim and flexible and adapt perfectly to the area to be treated. The high-tech circuit provides energy-efficient
treatments of 20 minutes each (up to 20 treatments per battery).
1.2 What is EMS and what can it do?
Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS)
is a widespread and generally recognised method and has been used in sports and rehabilita-
tion medicine for years. In sports and fitness, EMS is used to complement conventional muscle training, to increase the performance
of muscle groups and to adjust physical proportions to achieve the desired aesthetic results, amongst other things. There are two dif-
ferent types of EMS application. One is for targeted strengthening of the muscles (activating application), and the other is to achieve a
relaxing, restful effect (relaxing application).
The
activating application
involves:
•
Muscle training to increase endurance and/or
•
Muscle training in order to support the strengthening of specific muscles or muscle groups, and to achieve the desired changes
to physical proportions.
The
relaxing application
involves:
•
Muscle relaxation for easing muscle tension.
•
Improving symptoms of muscular fatigue.
•
Acceleration of muscle regeneration after high muscle performance (e.g. after a marathon).
EMS devices work by passing electrical currents over the skin. The gel film is used as a transfer medium and is subject to natural
wear and tear. The gel film must be replaced if it stops providing sufficient contact, as this will prevent the EMS pad from sticking to
the skin. Otherwise, the partially increased current density could irritate the skin.

2. Important notes
Note
Since the devices can also be used individually (for example just the sixpack pad or just the arm/leg pads), the designation “EMS
pad” or “device” is always used below. All warnings, precautions, etc. from the entire instructions for use apply equally to the six-
pack pad and both arm/leg pads.
Notes on use
WARNING!
To prevent damage to health, we strongly advise against using the EMS pad in the following situations:
•
If you have implanted electrical devices (e.g. a pacemaker).
•
If you have metal implants.
•
If you use an insulin pump.
•
If you have a high fever (e.g. > 39 °C).
•
If you have a known or acute cardiac arrhythmia or disorders of the heart’s impulse and conduction system.
•
If you suffer from a seizure disorder (e.g. epilepsy).
•
If you are pregnant.
•
If you have cancer.
•
In the case of acute or chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
•
After an operation, if strong muscle contractions could affect the healing process.
•
If you suffer from metabolic arthritis.
•
The device must never be used near to the heart. The stimulation electrodes must not be placed on any part of the front ribcage
(where the ribs and breastbone are located), especially not on the two large pectorals. This can increase the risk of
ventricular fibrillation and induce cardiac arrest.
•
On the skeletal skull structure, or around the mouth, throat or larynx.
•
In the neck area/carotid artery area/above the neck.
•
In the genital area.
•
On acutely or chronically diseased (injured or irritated) skin (e.g. inflamed skin – whether painful or not, reddened skin, rashes,
e.g. allergies, burns, bruises, swellings, both open and healing wounds, and post-operative scars where the healing process could
be affected).
•
In humid environments (e.g. in the bathroom) or when bathing or showering.
•
Do not use after consuming alcohol.
•
Do not use if connected to a high-frequency surgical device.
•
This device is not intended for use by children or people with restricted physical, sensory (e.g. reduced sensitivity to pain) or mental
skills or a lack of experience and/or a lack of knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety
or are instructed by such a person on how to use the device.
Before using the device, consult your doctor if any of the following apply to you:
•
Serious illnesses, in particular if you suspect or have been diagnosed with high blood pressure, a blood coagulation disorder, pro-
pensity to thrombo-embolic conditions or in the case of malignant neoplasms.
•
Skin diseases or open wounds.
•
Unexplained chronic pain in any part of the body.
•
Diabetes.
•
If you have any sensory impairment that reduces the feeling of pain (e.g. metabolic disorders).
•
If you are receiving medical treatment.
•
In the event of complaints linked to the stimulation treatment.
•
If you suffer from persistently irritated skin due to long-term stimulation at the same electrode site.
PRECAUTIONS:
•
Hold the device away from sources of heat and do not use it in close proximity (approx. 1 m) to shortwave or microwave devices
(e.g. mobile phones), as doing so can result in unpleasant current peaks.
•
Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or high temperatures.
•
Protect the device from dust, dirt and humidity. Never immerse the device in water or other liquids.
•
The device is suitable for self-treatment.
•
For hygienic reasons, the device may only be used on one person.
•
If the device does not work properly, or you feel unwell or experience pain, stop using it immediately.
•
Switch off the EMS pad before attaching or removing it.
•
Do not modify the EMS pad in any way (e.g. by cutting it). This will produce a higher current density and may be dangerous.
•
Do not use the devices whilst using other devices not included in this device set that transmit electrical impulses to your body.
•
Do not use whilst asleep, driving a vehicle or operating machinery.
•
Do not use whilst undertaking any activity where an unexpected reaction (e.g. strong muscle contractions even at low intensity)
could be dangerous.
•
Ensure that no metallic objects (e.g. belt buckles or necklaces) come into contact with the electrodes during stimulation. If you are
wearing jewellery or have piercings in the area to be treated (e.g. a navel piercing), these must be removed before using the de-
vice. Failure to do so could result in spot burns.
•
Keep the device away from children to prevent potential risks.
•
Pre-treating the skin with greasy creams or lotions is not recommended.
•
Do not use adhesive tapes, bandages or any aid other than the provided gel film to apply the EMS pad to your skin. Otherwise the
uneven adhesion of the gel film could lead to skin lesions.
•
Stimulation on the same area for a long period of time could irritate the skin. Please consult a dermatologist if this skin irrita-
tion persists.
•
During the initial few minutes, use the device while sitting or lying down to minimise the risk of accidental injuries as a consequence
of isolated cases of vagal responses (feeling of faintness). If you feel faint, switch off the device immediately, lie down and support
the legs in an elevated position (approx. 5 – 10 minutes).
Notes on handling batteries
•
If your skin or eyes come into contact with battery fluid, rinse the affected area with water and seek medical assistance.
•
Choking hazard!
Small children may swallow and choke on batteries. Therefore, store batteries out of the reach of small children.
•
Observe the plus (+) and minus (-) polarity signs.
•
If a battery has leaked, put on protective gloves and clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth.
•
Protect batteries from excessive heat.
•
Risk of explosion!
Do not throw batteries into a fire.
•
Do not charge or short-circuit batteries.
•
If the device is not to be used for a relatively long period, take the batteries out of the battery compartment.
•
Use identical or equivalent battery types only.
•
Do not use rechargeable batteries.
•
Do not disassemble, open or crush the batteries.
•
Remove the battery from the item if it is empty or you do not intend to use the item for a prolonged period of time. This prevents
damage which could occur due to leakage.
•
If required, clean the contacts of the battery and the device before inserting. Risk of overheating!
Damage
•
If the EMS pad is damaged or you have any doubts, do not use it and contact your retailer or Customer Services at the address
provided.
•
Switch the device off immediately if it is faulty or not working properly.
•
Do not attempt to open and/or repair the EMS pad yourself. Repairs may only be carried out by Customer Services or authorised
retailers. Failure to comply with this instruction will void the warranty.
•
The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting from improper or incorrect use.
Cleaning
•
Always remove the battery from the device before cleaning.
•
Clean the device after use with a soft, slightly damp cloth. If it is very dirty, you can also moisten the cloth with a mild soapy solution.
•
Ensure that no water enters the device. If this happens, only use the device again once it has fully dried out.
•
Do not use any chemical or abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning.
Storage
•
Re-apply the protective film to the gel film after use.
•
If you do not plan to use the device for a long period of time, we recommend that you store it in the original packaging in a dry en-
vironment, ensuring it is not weighed down by additional items.
3. Initial use
The following description of initial use and application applies to the sixpack pad and both arm/leg pads.

2. Use a pointed object to loosen the lid.
3. Place the battery in the battery compartment so that the positive terminal (+) faces upwards.
4. Close the lid by turning it clockwise.
3.2 Attaching the gel film

1. Remove one of the protective films carefully.

2. Carefully attach the gel film to the pad and carefully detach the protective EMS
film. Ensure that the edge of the gel film does not protrude over the pad.EMS
Gel films that have been applied slightly askew will not affect the function.
WARNING!
Remove the protective film slowly and carefully and make sure that both parts of the self-adhesive gel film stay on the same side of the
protective film. Make sure that the self-adhesive gel film is not damaged, as damage or unevenness on the film may cause skin irritation.
3.3 Usage
The EM 22 Muscle Booster set has been specially developed for building and toning abdominal muscles as well as relaxing upper
arm and thigh muscles.
Stick the EMS pads onto the part of the body to be treated (see image).

To turn off the EMS pad, press and hold the “–” button until you hear a long beep. The
device switches off automatically after 20 minutes.
Re-apply the protective film to the gel film after use.
For optimal results we recommend a 4-week training plan. Please note the following points:
1. 1-2 days rest.
2. Increase the intensity on a daily basis.
3. A higher intensity level can lead to better results. However, the stimulation should never be uncomfortable.
4. Complete the full 20-minute program each time you use the device.
Wait at least 30 minutes after the stimulation program is complete before using the device again.
Important note!
•
The device will only work if there is sufficient contact with the skin. Stimulation pulses will not be transmitted if there is insufficient
contact and the device beeps regularly until there is sufficient skin contact.
•
Switch off the EMS pad before removing it.
•
Replace the battery if it is low (insufficient stimulation, no beeping noises).
•
For optimum stimulation we recommend that the gel film is replaced when the battery is replaced.
•
Do not use the EMS pad on the same area more than once per day.
•
In the event of continuous beeping, switch off the device. Clean the gel film and try to restart the program. If the continuous beep-
ing persists, replace the gel film.
•
If the adhesive capability of the gel film decreases, replace immediately. Do not use the EMS pad again until the gel film has been
replaced. Otherwise the uneven adhesion of the gel film could lead to skin lesions.
•
In the event of unpleasant current peaks, switch off the EMS pad and use it in a different location.

5. Disposal
Empty, completely flat batteries must be disposed of through specially designated collection boxes, recycling points
or electronics retailers. You are legally required to dispose of the batteries.
The codes below are printed on batteries containing harmful substances:
Pb = Battery contains lead, Cd = Battery contains cadmium, Hg = Battery contains mercury.
For environmental reasons, do not dispose of the device in the household waste at the end of its service life. Dispose
of the device at a suitable local collection or recycling point in your country. Dispose of the device in accordance with EC
Directive – WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). If you have any questions, please contact the local authori-
ties responsible for waste disposal.

7. What if there are problems?

- The battery could be flat. Replace the battery and try to switch on the device again.
The gel film no longer
adheres to the skin.
- Replace the gel film.

down the “+” button for 2 seconds to switch on the device again.
- The batteries could be low and must be replaced.
You are unable to feel any
stimulation.
- Press and hold down the “+” button again for 3 seconds.
- Ensure that the gel film does not protrude beyond the device and try again.
- Gradually increase the intensity level.
The skin at the area of
treatment is red.
- Stop treating this area immediately. Wait until the skin has returned to its normal colour. Please
consult a dermatologist if skin irritation persists.
The intensity suddenly

8. Warranty/service
Beurer GmbH, Söflinger Straße 218, 89077 Ulm, Germany (hereinafter referred to as “Beurer”) provides a warranty for this product,
subject to the requirements below and to the extent described as follows.
The warranty conditions below shall not affect the seller’s statutory warranty obligations which ensue from the sales
agreement with the buyer.
The warranty shall apply without prejudice to any mandatory statutory provisions on liability.
Beurer guarantees the perfect functionality and completeness of this product.
The worldwide warranty period is 3 years, commencing from the purchase of the new, unused product from the seller.
The warranty only applies to products purchased by the buyer as a consumer and used exclusively for personal purposes in the
context of domestic use.
German law shall apply.
During the warranty period, should this product prove to be incomplete or defective in functionality in accordance with the following
provisions, Beurer shall carry out a repair or a replacement delivery free of charge, in accordance with these warranty conditions.
If the buyer wishes to make a warranty claim, they should approach their local retailer in the first instance: see the at-
tached “International Service” list of service addresses.
The buyer will then receive further information about the processing of the warranty claim, e.g. where they can send the product
and what documentation is required.
A warranty claim shall only be considered if the buyer can provide Beurer, or an authorised Beurer partner, with
- a copy of the invoice/purchase receipt, and
- the original product.
The following are explicitly excluded from this warranty:
- deterioration due to normal use or consumption of the product;
- accessories supplied with this product which are worn out or used up through proper use (e.g. batteries, rechargeable batteries,
cuffs, seals, electrodes, light sources, attachments and nebuliser accessories);
- products that are used, cleaned, stored or maintained improperly and/or contrary to the provisions of the instructions for use, as well
as products that have been opened, repaired or modified by the buyer or by a service centre not authorised by Beurer;
- damage that arises during transport between manufacturer and customer, or between service centre and customer;
- products purchased as seconds or as used goods;
- consequential damage arising from a fault in this product (however, in this case, claims may exist arising from product liability or
other compulsory statutory liability provisions).
Repairs or an exchange in full do not extend the warranty period under any circumstances.
