Press the 2. button to null out the DC amps offset.
Open spring-loaded clamp by pressing the lever on left side of meter.3.
Position clamp around one wire or conductor and release the clamp lever. Wire 4.
should be center inside the jaws.
Read the displayed value.5.
Frequency Measurement / % Duty Cycle (see ig. 2) F
Select the “Hz” position. 1.
Connect the test leads: Red to 2. , Black to .+ COM
Connect the test probes to the circuit test points.3.
Read the frequency on the primary display and the Duty cycle on the secondary 4.
display, and, if necessary, correct any overload ( ) conditions.0L
Capacitance Measurement (see ig. 4)F
Note: When the capacitor to be tested is connected and LCD indicates “di .c”, means
there is voltage on the capacitor and needs to be discharged before testing.
Select the “1. ” position.
Connect the test leads: Red to 2. , Black to .+ COM
Connect the test probes to the circuit test points.3.
Read the display and if necessary, correct any overload (4. ) conditions.0L
CAUTION
Using the Resistance or Continuity function in a live circuit will produce false results
and may damage the instrument. In most cases the suspected component must be
disconnected from the circuit to obtain an accurate measurement reading.
Resistance (See Fig. 5)
Set the Function Switch to 1. . Use the ‘ ’ button to select the resistance test Ω Ω
(ACD-3300 IND only).
Connect the test leads: Red to 2. , Black to .+ COM
Turn off power to the circuit being measured. Never measure resistance across a 3.
voltage source or on a powered circuit.
Discharge any capacitors that may influence the reading.4.
Connect the test probes across the resistance.5.
Read the display. If 6. appears on the highest Range, the resistance is too large to be 0L
measured or the circuit is an open circuit.
Continuity Testing (See Fig. 5)
Set the Function Switch to 1. . Use the ‘ ’ button to select the test (ACD-3300
IND only).
Connect the test leads: Red to 2. , Black to .+ COM
Turn off power to the circuit being measured.3.
Discharge any capacitors that may influence the reading.4.
Connect the test probes across the resistance or the two points of test.5.
Listen for the tone that indicates continuity (< 30 6. ).
Diode Testing (See Fig. 5)
Set the Function knob to the “ 1. “ position. Use the ‘ ’ button to select diode
test (ACD-3300 IND only).
Connect the red test lead to the “V2. ” jack and the black test lead to the “COM”
jack.
Turn off power to the circuit under test. External voltage across the components 3.
causes invalid readings.
Touch probes to the diode. A forward-voltage drop is about 0.6V (typical for a silicon 4.
diode).
