GENERAL OPERATIONS
• The unit is supplied complete with AD1230B pH electrode.
Connect the electrode to the BNC connector on the bottom of
the meter. Do not be alarmed if white crystals appear around
the electrode protective cap. They dissolve by simply rinsing
with water.
• If the electrode is dry, soak the tip in electrode rinse solution
for one hour to reactivate it.
• Connect the supplied 12 Vdc adapter to the power supply
connector and to the mains.
• Make sure the unit has been calibrated for pH before using it.
• The meter is supplied with a differential input and a stainless
steel probe to prevent potential grounding problems.
• For taking measurements remove the protective cap from the
pH electrode and immerse the tips (4 cm) of both pH electrode
and grounding probe into the solution to be measured, then
shake briefly.
• The display will show the pH value. Wait a few seconds for
the reading to stabilize and the meter will start continuous
monitoring.
• To turn the unit off simply unplug the 12 Vdc adapter from the
mains.
CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
A new pH meter must always be calibrated before use.
The ECO209 pH-Monitor can be calibrated manually over 2 points,
at pH 7 and pH 4 (or pH 10).
If you are going to measure acidic samples (pH value between
0 and 7), it is suggested to calibrate with pH 7.01 and pH 4.01
buffer solutions.
If your samples are alkaline (pH value between 7 and 14), use
pH 7.01 and pH 10.01 buffer solutions.
• Immerse the tips of electrode and grounding
probe in a new pH 7 calibration solution and
allow the reading to stabilize.
• Using a small screwdriver adjust the pH 7
calibration trimmer to read pH "7.0".
• Rinse the electrode in the rinse solution.
• Immerse the tips of electrode and grounding
probe in a new pH 4 (or pH 10) solution and
wait for the reading to stabilize.
• Adjust the pH 4 calibration trimmer to read
pH "4.0" (or pH "10.0").
• The pH calibration procedure is now complete and the meter
is ready for use.
CALIBRAT ION 
SOLUTION
pH ELECTRODE MAINTENANCE
• The electrode should always be kept moist and wet. If the
electrode dries out, soak it in rinse solution for at least 1 hour.
• When not in use, rinse the electrode with water and store it
with a few drops of pH 7 or rinse solution in the protective
cap.
• Always replace the protective cap after use.
