In front of you is the El Primero 21 movement. It is the only
mechanical 1/100th of a second chronograph movement.
The El Primero 21 movement is a masterpiece of modern
engineering. Constructed using state-of-the-art methods and
finished using the newest technologies and materials, this
movement fulfils two objectives: a finish of the highest possible
quality, and optimum performance and accuracy on the wrist.
First released in 1969, the world’s most accurate series-made
chronograph entered a new era of mechanical timekeeping with
the El Primero 21 movement.
An impressive frequency of 360,000 vibrations per hour is
testament to the groundbreaking ingenuity of Zenith, and enables
precise measurement of time periods to a hundredth of a second.
The jump from tenths to hundredths of a second is a quantum leap
in terms of watchmaking performance and engineering.
For Zenith, accuracy is the absolute priority. To avoid any risk
of the chronograph affecting the accuracy of the time display,
the El Primero 21 movement is equipped with a “double-chain
structure”.
1 > EL PRIMERO 21 MOVEMENT
Your watch is fitted with an automatic mechanical movement. The
movement is wound via the crown or the effect of the oscillating
weight. Winding via the oscillating weight takes place when the
watch is on your wrist.
When your watch has stopped
The crown must be in the position 0, meaning it should be
pressed against the case.
With the watch in your hand, turn the crown counter-clockwise.
Turn the crown 72 times to fully wind the watch. The barrel that
contains the mainspring has now been wound. In order for the
automatic winding to work properly, the watch must be worn
for at least 12 hours per day, for several days. Not wearing the
watch enough causes it to stop.

Alongside the double-chain structure of the calibre, and the
remarkable accuracy this ensures, the El Primero 21 movement
boasts two other technical innovations: a new, patented start/
stop/reset mechanism composed of three heart pieces, and an
exclusive starter mechanism which ensures reliable operation
under all circumstances, and allows the chronograph second,
tenths and hundredths displays to be simultaneously reset.
Procedure
The crown must be in the position, meaning that it should be 0
pressed against the case.
4 > SETTING THE TIME
Position 0: winding position
In this position you can manually wind your chronograph
movement and watch by turning the crown. Pull the crown out
a notch to change to position (1).
Position 1: correcting the time
To correct the time, turn the crown in the required direction.
Do not forget to return the crown to position (0).

Если часы остановились
Заводная головка должна находиться в положении 0, т. е.

Возьмите часы в руки и начните вращать заводную головку
против часовой стрелки. Для полного подзавода достаточно
72 оборотов заводной головки. В свою очередь барабан
заводной пружины также будет подзаведен. Чтобы механизм
автоматического подзавода работал правильно, часы следует
носить не менее 12 часов в день на протяжении нескольких
дней. Если Вы недостаточно долго носили часы, они могут
остановиться.

Порядок действий
Заводная головка должна находиться в положении , т. е. (0)
прижата вплотную к корпусу.
4 > УСТАНОВКА ВРЕМЕНИ
Положение 0: положение подзавода
В этом положении вы можете вручную подзавести механизмы
хронографа и часов, вращая заводную головку. Для перехода
в положение вытяните заводную головку на одно деление. (1)
Положение 1: установка времени
Вращайте заводную головку в любом направлении для
установки точного времени.
Не забудьте вернуть заводную головку в положение (0).

Vous avez devant vous le mouvement El Primero 21. C’est le seul
mouvement chronographe mécanique au 1/100ème de seconde.
Le mouvement El Primero 21 est un chef-d’œuvre d’ingénierie
moderne. Construit en utilisant des méthodes de pointe et doté
de finitions intégrant les technologies et les matériaux les plus
innovants, ce mouvement répond à deux objectifs : la plus haute
qualité de finition qui soit, associée à des performances et une
précision optimales au poignet. Lancé en 1969, le chronographe
de série le plus précis du monde est entré dans une nouvelle ère
de chronométrage mécanique avec le mouvement El Primero 21.
Sa fréquence impressionnante de 360 000 alternances par heure
témoigne de l’ingéniosité révolutionnaire de Zenith et permet une
mesure précise du temps au centième de seconde près. Le saut du
dixième au centième de seconde marque une avancée prodigieuse

le chronographe ne risque d’altérer la précision de l’affichage
de l’heure, le mouvement El Primero 21 est pourvu d’une

Votre montre est munie d’un mouvement mécanique automatique.
Le mouvement se remonte grâce à la couronne ou par l’action de
la masse oscillante. Le remontage par la masse oscillante se fait
lorsque la montre est portée au poignet.
Lorsque la montre est arrêtée
La couronne doit être en position 0, c’est-à-dire plaquée contre
la boîte.
Prendre la montre en main et tourner la couronne dans le
sens antihoraire. 72 tours de couronne pour un remontage
complet. Le barillet qui contient le ressort moteur est ainsi
remonté. Pour que le mécanisme de remontage automatique
fonctionne correctement, la montre doit être portée au moins
12 heures par jour pendant plusieurs jours. Lorsque la montre
est insuffisamment portée, elle s’arrête.

Outre la structure à double chaîne du calibre et la précision
remarquable qu’il garantit, le mouvement El Primero 21 intègre
deux autres innovations techniques : un nouveau mécanisme
breveté de démarrage/arrêt/remise à zéro du chronographe
composé de trois cœurs, ainsi qu’un démarreur exclusif qui
garantit un fonctionnement fiable en toutes circonstances et
permet la remise à zéro simultanée de la seconde, du dixième
et du centième.
Marche à suivre
La couronne doit être en position , c’est-à-dire plaquée (0)
contre la boîte.
4 > RÉGLAGE DE L’HEURE
Position 0 : position remontage
Dans cette position, vous pourrez remonter votre mouvement
chronographe et montre manuellement par des mouvements
de rotations de la couronne. Tirez la couronne d’un cran pour
passer en position (1).
Position 1 : correction de l’heure
Pour la correction de l’heure, tournez la couronne dans le sens
désiré.
N’oubliez pas de repousser la couronne en position (0).

das vor Verlassen der Manufaktur strenge Qualitätskontrollen
und Leistungstests durchlaufen hat. Sollte sie dennoch
Fabrikationsfehler aufweisen, tritt die während zwei Jahren ab
Kaufdatum gültige internationale Garantie in Kraft.
Sie können diese Garantie um ein weiteres Jahr verlängern,

Este reloj está dotado de un movimiento mecánico automático.
Para dar cuerda al movimiento se utiliza la corona o la masa
oscilante. En este último caso, al llevarlo en la muñeca se da
cuerda al reloj.
Cuando el reloj está parado
La corona debe estar en la posición 0, es decir, pegada contra
la caja.
Sujete el reloj y gire la corona en sentido antihorario. Es
necesario dar 72 vueltas a la corona para dar la cuerda máxima
al reloj. De este modo se da cuerda también al barrilete que
contiene el muelle motor. Para que el mecanismo de cuerda
automática funcione correctamente, el reloj se debe llevar,
como mínimo, 12 horas al día durante varios días. Si no lleva el
reloj el tiempo suficiente, este se detendrá.

Además de la estructura de doble cadena del calibre y la
notable precisión que garantiza, el movimiento El Primero
21 incorpora otras dos innovaciones técnicas: un nuevo
mecanismo patentado de puesta en marcha/parada/puesta
a cero del cronógrafo compuesto por tres núcleos, así como
un arrancador exclusivo que garantiza un funcionamiento
fiable en cualquier circunstancia y que permite poner a cero
simultáneamente el segundo, la décima y la centésima.
Procedimiento

4 > CÓMO SE AJUSTA LA HORA
Posición 0: posición para dar cuerda
En esta posición, podrá dar cuerda al movimiento de cronógrafo
y al reloj manualmente realizando movimientos de rotación
de la corona. Tire de la corona y muévala una muesca para
ponerla en la posición (1).
Posición 1: corrección de la hora
Para corregir la hora, gire la corona en el sentido deseado.
No olvide volver a poner la corona en la posición (0).
