INTRODUCTION

Thank you very much for buying this SHARP product.

Before using your SHARP refrigerator, please read this

operation manual to ensure that you gain the maximum

benefit from it.

All persons using the cabinet must be thoroughly familiar

with its operation and safety features. Keep this operation

manual with the refrigerator if you move or if the cabinet

changes owners so that whoever uses it can read about

the various features and safety rules.

Important:

• This refrigerator is for domestic use only, with an ambient

temperature between +5°C and +38°C.

The refrigerator should not be subjected to temperatures

of -10°C for long periods.

• To be used on 220-240V mains voltage.

WARNING

1. This refrigerator contains flammable refrigerant

(R600a: isobutane) and insulation blowing gas

(cyclopentane). Observe the following rules to prevent

ignition and explosion.

• The refrigeration system behind and inside the

refrigerator contains refrigerant. Do not allow any

sharp objects to come into contact with the

refrigeration system.

• Do not use mechanical devices or other means to

accelerate the defrosting process. (This refrigerator

has adopted automatic defrosting system.)

• Do not use electric appliances inside the refrigerator.

• Use only the specified lamp for the refrigerator

compartment.

• Do not block the openings on the circumference of the

refrigerator.

• If the refrigeration system should get punctured, do not

touch the wall outlet and do not use open flames. Open

the window and air out the room. Then ask a service

agent approved by SHARP for servicing.

• This refrigerator should be disposed appropriately.

Take the refrigerator to a recycling plant for flammable

refrigerant and insulation blowing gases.

2. This refrigerator is airtight. TO PREVENT FATAL

ACCIDENTS TO CHILDREN, please completely

remove the door prior to discarding the refrigerator.

3. Highly volatile and inflammable materials such as

ether, petrol, propane gas, adhesive agents and pure

alcohol etc. are liable to explode. Do not store these

materials in the refrigerator.

4. To prevent damage to the outer cabinet, avoid contact

with lacquer, and paint, etc.

5. When cleaning your refrigerator, do not splash water

directly on the outer cabinet or the interior. This may

lead to rusting and deterioration of the electrical

insulation.

6. When cleaning any areas adjacent to electrical

components, unplug the refrigerator first to prevent

electric shock.

7. Should electrical components be accidentally

immersed in water, unplug the refrigerator, dry the

parts and contact your nearest service agent approved

by SHARP.

8. When disconnecting the power plug, do not touch the

pin of plug. This may cause electric shock.

9. This refrigerator is designed solely for the purpose of

storing foodstuff for domestic use in accordance with

the instructions given in this manual. Using the

refrigerator for other purposes might be harmful to

persons or property.

10.This refrigerator is not suitable for the storage of

materials requiring precise temperatures. Deterioration

of these materials will be dangerous.

11.Dust deposited on the power plug may cause fire. Wipe

it off carefully.

12.Do not attempt to change or modify this refrigerator.

This may result in fire, electric shock or injury.

CAUTION

1. Do not touch the compressor unit or its peripheral

parts, as they become extremely hot during operation

and the metal edges may cause injury.

2. If the power supply is accidentally disconnected,

please wait for at least 5 minutes before re-connecting

the power, as back pressure in the compressor may

trip the overload relay.

3. Do not touch foods or metal containers in the freezer

compartment with your wet hands. This may cause

frostbite.

4. To prevent accidental power disconnection, plug the

refrigerator directly to the source. Do not use a double

adaptor as loss of power could lead to the spoiling of

the stored food.

5. Do not place bottles in the freezer as they may crack

when frozen.

6. Keep the door securely closed. If the door is left ajar,

the controlled inner temperature will rise, resulting in

food spoilage and increase in electricity costs.

7. Do not install the refrigerator in a damp or wet location

as this may cause damage to the insulation and a leak.

Condensation may also build on the outer cabinet and

cause rust.

8. When installing or moving the refrigerator, make sure

that you do not nip or kink the power cord. Damage of

the power cord may cause electric shock or fire.

9. Do not use this refrigerator when the power cord or

plug is damaged, or the outlet attachment is loose, as

they may cause electric shock or fire.

10.Disconnect from the mains electricity supply by

removing the mains plug from the electricity supply

socket. Do not remove by pulling the mains lead. This

may cause electric shock or fire.

11.Make sure that you leave adequate ventilation space

around the refrigerator to prevent the compressor from

overheating and stopping. Please follow the

instructions given for installation.

12.Should the flexible supply cord be damaged, it must be

replaced by service agent approved by SHARP as a

special cord is required.

13.In case of gas leak, ventilate the area by opening a

window, etc. Do not touch the refrigerator or the power

outlet.

14.Do not place heavy or easily broken objects on top of

the refrigerator. Objects may fall when opening or

closing the refrigerator, causing injury.

15.Do not place objects containing liquid on top of the

refrigerator. Spillage may cause electric shock or fire.

16.Do not drop objects inside the refrigerator or strike the

inner wall. This may cause the inner surface to crack.

17.This refrigerator is not intended for use by persons

(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or

mental capabilities, or lack of experience and

knowledge, unless they have been given supervision

or instruction concerning use of the refrigerator by a

person responsible for their safety. Young children

should be supervised to ensure that they do not play

with the refrigerator.

DESCRIPTION

Half shelf

The position of the shelf can be arranged according to the

size of the foods to be stored.

Carry case

This unit is removable and can be carried to the kitchen or

the table. It is designed to be used for stocking spices or

seasonings.

• The handle may be deformed or crack when it is pulled

strongly.

INSTALLATION

1. This refrigerator is free standing type. Please keep

adequate ventilation space around the refrigerator.

• The figure shows minimum space necessary to

maintain the cooling capability.

• It is possible to use the refrigerator with a less

amount of power consumption by keeping greater

space.

• If using the refrigerator in the space below size of the

figure, it becomes cause of failure.

2. Using the front Adjustable foot, ensure that the

refrigerator is positioned firmly and level on the floor.

NOTE:

• Position your refrigerator so that the plug is accessible.

• Keep your refrigerator out of direct sunlight.

• Do not place next to heat generating appliance.

• Do not place directly on the ground. Provide suitable

stand. Before using your refrigerator

Clean the inside parts with a cloth soaked in warm water.

If soapy water is used, wipe it off thoroughly with water.

CARE AND CLEANING

1. Remove the shelves and pockets from the cabinet and

door. Wash them in warm soapy dishwashing water;

rinse in clean water and dry.

2. Clean the inside with a cloth soaked in warm soapy

dishwashing water. Then, use cold water to wipe off

soapy water.

3. Wipe the exterior with a soft cloth each time it is soiled.

4. Clean the Magnetic door seal with a toothbrush and

warm soapy dishwashing water.

NOTE:

• Do not use polishing powder, benzine, hot water etc.

• If undiluted detergent is used or soapy water is not wiped

off thoroughly, cracking of plastic parts can result.

• Wipe any food oils adhered to plastic components as

they can cause cracking of the plastic surface.

When the compartment light is blown

Contact the SHARP Service Center to request a

replacement compartment bulb. The compartment bulb is

not to be removed other than by qualified service

personnel.

Switching off your refrigerator

If you switch your refrigerator off when you are going away

for an extended period, remove all food, clean the interior

thoroughly. Remove the power cord plug from the power

socket and leave all doors open.

STORING FOOD

Refrigeration reduces the rate of food spoilage.

To maximize the shelf life of perishable food products,

ensure that the food is of the freshest possible quality. The

following is a general guide to help promote longer food

storage.

Fruit / Vegetables

To minimize moisture loss, fruit and vegetables should be

loosely enclosed in a plastic material e.g. wrap, bags (do

not seal) and place in the vegetable crisper.

Dairy Products & Eggs

• Most dairy products have a use by date on the outer

packaging which informs the recommended temperature

and shelf life of the product.

• Eggs should be stored in the Egg pocket.

Meats / Fish / Poultry

• Place on a plate or dish and cover with paper or plastic

wrap.

• For larger cuts of meat, fish, or poultry, place to the rear

of the shelves.

• Ensure all cooked food is wrapped securely or placed in

an airtight container.

NOTE:

• Evenly place the food on the shelves to allow the cooling

air to circulate efficiently.

• Hot foods should be cooled before storing.

Storing hot foods increases the

temperature in the unit and increases the

risk of food spoilage.

• Do not block the outlet and inlet of the

cool air circulating circuit with foods or

containers; otherwise the foods will not be

evenly cooled throughout the refrigerator.

• Do not place food directly in front of cold

air outlet. This may lead to the food

freezing.

FOR BEST FREEZING

• Quality of foods should be fresh.

• Freeze small quantities of food at a time to freeze them

quickly.

• Food should be properly stored or covered and the air

should be removed to seal tightly.

• Evenly place the food in the freezer.

• Label bags or containers to keep an inventory of freezing

food.

Some household cleaning chemicals

may affect the inside surfaces and

plastic shelves resulting in splitting or

cracks occurring.

When cleaning all plastic parts inside

this refrigerator, only use diluted

dishwashing liquid (soapy water).

Make sure that all plastic parts are

thoroughly rinsed with water after

cleaning.

WHAT TO DO BEFORE YOU CALL FOR SERVICE

Before you call for service, check the following points.

Refer to your nearest service agent approved by SHARP.

Problem Solution

The outside of a cabinet is hot when

touched.

It is normal. The hot pipe is in the cabinet in order to prevent dew generation.

When there is refrigerator noise. It is normal for the refrigerator to produce the following sounds.

• Loud noise produced by the compressor when operation starts

--- Sound becomes quieter after a while.

• Loud noise produced once a day by the compressor

--- Operating sound produced immediately after automatic defrost operation.

• Sound of flowing fluid (gurgling sound, fizzing sound)

--- Sound of refrigerant flowing in pipes (sound may become louder from

time to time).

• Cracking or crunching sound, Squeaking sound

--- Sound produced by expansion and contraction of inner walls and internal

parts during cooling.

Frosting or dew generation occurs

inside or outside the refrigerator.

This may occur in one of the following cases. Use a wet cloth for wiping frost

and a dry cloth for wiping dew.

• When the ambient humidity is high.

• When the door is frequently opened and closed.

• When foods containing plenty of moisture are stored. (Wrapping is required.)

The foods in the refrigerator

compartment freeze.

• Is the refrigerator operated for a long time with REFRIGERATOR TEMP.

CONTROL set at MAX?

• Low ambient temperature may cause placed foods to freeze even if

REFRIGERATOR TEMP. CONTROL is set to MIN.

It smells in the compartment. • Wrapping is required for the foods with strong smell.

• Deodorizing unit cannot remove all of smell.

Information on Disposal for Users (private households)

1. In the European Union

Attention: If you want to dispose of this equipment, please do not use the ordinary dust bin!

Used electrical and electronic equipment must be treated separately and in accordance with

legislation that requires proper treatment, recovery and recycling of used electrical and

electronic equipment.

Following the implementation by member states private households within the EU states may

return their used electrical and electronic equipment to designated collection facilities free of

charge*. In some countries* your local retailer may also take back your old product free of

charge if you purchase a similar new one.

*) Please contact your local authority for further details.

If your used electrical or electronic equipment has batteries or accumulators, please dispose of

these separately beforehand according to local requirements.

By disposing of this product correctly you will help ensure that the waste undergoes the

necessary treatment, recovery and recycling and thus prevent potential negative effects on the

environment and human health which could otherwise arise due to inappropriate waste

handling.

2. In other Countries outside the EU

If you wish to discard this product, please contact your local authorities and ask for the correct

method of disposal.

For Switzerland: Used electrical or electronic equipment can be returned free of charge to the

dealer, even if you don't purchase a new product. Further collection facilities are listed on the

homepage of www.swico.ch or www.sens.ch.

INTRODUCCION

Le agradecemos la compra de este producto SHARP.

Antes de utilizar su frigorífico SHARP, es recomendable

que lea este manual de funcionamiento para asegurarse

de que obtiene las máximas ventajas de su nuevo

frigorífico.

Todos cuantos utilicen el frigorífico deberán estar bien al

corriente de su funcionamiento y medidas de seguridad.

Guarde este manual con el aparato, por si cambia de

domicilio o si el aparato pasa a nuevas manos, para que

quien vaya a usarlo pueda leer las diversas características

y las medidas de seguridad.

Importante:

• Este frigorífico es sólo para ser empleado en el hogar,

con una temperatura ambiente entre +5°C C y +38° .

El frigorífico no debe someterse a temperaturas de

-10°C durante períodos prolongados.

• Debe utilizarse con tensión de la red de alimentación de

220- 240V.

ADVERTENCIA

1.Este frigorífico contiene refrigerante inflamable

(R600a: isobutano) y gas explosivo de aislamiento

(ciclo pentano). Siga las siguientes reglas para evitar

la ignición y explosión.

• El sistema de refrigeración detrás y delante del

frigorífico contiene refrigerante. No permita que ningún

objeto puntiagudo toque el sistema de refrigeración.

• No utilice dispositivos mecánicos u otros medios con el

fin de acelerar el proceso de descongelamiento. (Este

frigorífico posee un sistema de descongelamiento

automático)

• No utilice dispositivos eléctricos dentro del frigorífico.

• Utilice sólo la lámpara especificada para el

compartimiento del frigorífico.

• No bloquee las aperturas de alrededor del frigorífico.

• Si se perfora el sistema de refrigeración, no toque el

enchufe de pared y no utilice llamas. Abra la ventana y

ventile la habitación. Luego pida el servicio de un

agente de servicio aprobado por SHARP.

• Se debería de deshacer de este frigorífico de forma

apropiada. Lleve el frigorífico a una plata de reciclaje

para refrigerantes inflamables y gases explosivos de

aislamiento.

2.Este frigorífico es hermético. PARA EVITAR

ACCIDENTES GRAVES CON LOS NIÑOS, retire la

puerta por completo antes de tirar el frigorífico a la

basura.

3.Los materiales altamente volátiles e inflamables, como

por ejemplo, éter, gasolina, gas propano, sustancias

adhesivas y alcohol puro, etc. pueden explotar. No

meta estos materiales en el frigorífico.

4.Para evitar daños en el compartimiento externo, evite

el contacto con materiales altamente combustibles,

como por ejemplo, lacas y pinturas.

Al limpiar el frigorífico, no vierta agua directamente en el

compartimiento exterior ni en el interior. Esto puede

producir la oxidación y deterioro del aislamiento eléctrico.

6.Cuando efectúe la limpieza de zonas contiguas a los

componentes eléctricos, desenchufe primero el

frigorífico para evitar las descargas eléctricas.

7.Si los componentes eléctricos se sumergen

accidentalmente en agua, desconecte el frigorífico,

seque las partes y contacte a un agente de servicio

aprobado por SHARP.

8.Cuando desconecte la clavija del cable de

alimentación, no toque las patillas de la clavija.

Correría el peligro de descargas eléctricas.

9.El frigorífico debe utilizarse sólo para guardar

alimentos de consumo doméstico ordinario, de

acuerdo con estas instrucciones. Si se utiliza para

otros fines puede resultar nocivo para las personas o

la propiedad.

10.Este frigorífico no es apropiado para almacenar

materiales que re quieran temperaturas muy precisas.

El deterioro de estas sustancias puede resultar

peligroso.

11.La acumulación de polvo en el enchufe de la red

puede provocar incendios. Límpielo con cuidado.

12.No modifique este frigorífico. Unicamente podrán

desmontarlo o repararlo técnicos autorizados, p7-ya que

de lo contrario podrían pro ducirse descarga eléctrica,

incendio o daños personales.

PRECAUCION

1.No toque la unidad del compresor o sus piezas

periféricas p7-ya que pueden volverse muy calientes

durante el funcionamiento y los bordes de metal

pueden provocar heridas.

2.Si se desconecta la alimentación accidentalmente,

espere 5 minutos por lo menos antes de conectarlo de

nuevo, ya que la contrapresión del compresor puede

activar el relé de sobrecarga.

3.No toque los alimentos o recipientes de metal del

compartimiento congelador con las manos mojadas.

Esto puede causar quemaduras.

4.Para evitar una interrupción accidental de la

alimentación, conecte el frigorífico directamente a la

fuente. No utilice un adaptador doble p7-ya que una

pérdida de alimentación puede hacer que se

estropeen los alimentos almacenados.

5.No coloque botellas en el congelador p7-ya que podrían

explotar al congelarse.

6.Mantenga bien cerrada la puerta. Si deja la puerta

entreabierta, aumentará la temperatura en el interior

del frigorífico, con lo cual se le puede estropear la

comida, además de consumir más electricidad.

7.No instale este frigorífico en un sitio húmedo o mojado

ya que puede deteriorarse el aislante eléctrico y se

pueden producir descargas eléctricas. Además, se

puede formar condensado en el exterior del frigorífico.

8.Cuando instale o mueva el frigorífico, asegúrese de no

cortar o pellizcar el cable de corriente. Daños al cable

de corriente pueden producir descargas eléctricas o

incendios.

9.No utilice el frigorífico si el cable o el enchufe de

alimentación están dañados o si la salida de corriente

está floja, p7-ya que podrían producirse descargas o

incendio.

10.Cuando remueva el enchufe, agarre, no el cable, sino

el enchufe. Tirar del cable puede causar choques

eléctricos o ignición.

11.Asegúrese de que haya ventilación suficiente

alrededor del aparato, para que la unidad compresora

no se recaliente y se pare. Siga las instrucciones de

instalación.

12.Si el cordón de envío flexible se daña, debe ser

reemplazado por un agente de servicio aprobado por

SHARP debido a que se necesita un cordón especial.

13.En caso de que haya fugas de gas, ventile el área

abriendo una ventana, por ejemplo. No toque el

frigorífico ni el enchufe del mismo.

14.No coloque objetos frágiles o pesados en la parte

superior del frigorífico, ya que pueden caerse y causar

heridas.

15.No coloque contenedores de líquidos encima del

frigorífico. Si se vertieran, podrían producirse

descargas eléctricas o incendios.

16.No deje caer objetos dentro del frigorífico ni golpeé la

pared interior. Esto puede ocasionar el agrietamiento

de la superficie interior.

17.Este frigorífico no ha sido diseñado para ser usado por

personas (incluyendo niños) con limitaciones físicas o

mentales o sin experiencia o conocimiento, a menos

que sean supervisadas o instruidas por una persona

responsable de su seguridad. Los niños pequeños

deben ser supervisados para asegurar que no jueguen

con el mismo.

La posición del estante puede ajustarse de acuerdo al

tamaño de los alimentos que serán almacenados.

Estuche de transportación

Esta unidad es removible y puede llevarse a la cocina o a

la mesa. Está diseñada para colocar especias o

sasonadores.

• El asa puede deformarse o romperse cuando se tira de

ella fuertemente.

INSTALACION

1. Este frigorífico es de estructura independiente.

Mantenga el espacio de ventilación adecuado

alrededor del frigorífico.

• La figura muestra el espacio mínimo necesario para

mantener la capacidad de enfriamiento.

• Es posible utilizar el frigorífico con un menor

consumo de energía eléctrica manteniendo un

espacio mayor.

• Si utiliza un espacio para el frigorífico por debajo del

tamaño de la figura, podría ocasionar fallas.

2. Utilizando la para frontale ajustable, asegúrese de que

el frigorífico quede firmemente colocado y nivelado en

el suelo.

NOTAS:

• Coloque el frigorífico de modo que el enchufe sea

accesible.

• Mantenga el frigorífico alejado de la luz solar directa.

• No lo coloque junto a aparatos generadores de calor.

• No coloque directamente en el suelo. Coloque un

soporte adecuado.

FUNCIONAMIENTO

Control de la temperatura

• FREEZER TEMP. CONTROL regula la cantidad de aire

frío que entra en el congelador.

• Si el congelador no congela aún cuando FREEZER

TEMP. CONTROL esté ajustado a MAX, ajuste además

REFRIGERATOR TEMP. CONTROL MAX.

• Con FREEZER TEMP. CONTROL ajustado en el MAX,

habrá menosaire frío disponible para dirigirlo haciael

compartimento del frigorífico, quecomo resultado puede

que no enfríe losuficiente.

• REFRIGERATOR TEMP. CONTROL controla el tiempo de

funcionamiento del compresor del sistema de

refrigeración.

• El ajuste MAX hace que la temperatura en ambos

compartimentos (frigorífico y congelador) sea más fría.

• El compartimento del congelador puede que no enfríe lo

bastante cuando deje REFRIGERATOR TEMP. CONTROL

en MIN durante un largo período de tiempo. Para queel

congelador se enfríe adecuadamente, ajuste

REFRIGERATOR TEMP.CONTROL a un valor más cer-

cano al MAX.

Sugerencias para hacer cubitos

de hielo

1. No llene excesivamente las

cubiteras, de lo contrario los

cubitos de hielo quedarían

pegados al congelarse.

2. Cuando estén hechos los cubitos,

gire la palanca en el sentido horario

para vaciarlos en la cubitera.

NOTAS:

No haga hielo con la cubitera ni vierta

aceite en ella pues ésta puede

agrietarse.

Unidad de desodorizacion

El catalizador de desodorización es instalado en las rutas

del aire frío. No se requiere operación o limpieza.

Descongelacion

La descongelación se realiza de forma totalmente

automática debido a un sistema exclusivo de ahorro de

energía.

Termómetro

Este frigorífico-congelador está equipado con un

TERMÓMETRO

en el compartimiento del frigorífico para

permitirle controlar la temperatura media en la zona más

fría.

ZONA MÁS FRÍA

El símbolo indica la zona más fría en el

compartimiento del frigorífico.

(El compartimiento de la puerta colocada a la

misma altura no es la zona más fría).

COMPROBACIÓN DE LA TEMPERATURA EN

LA ZONA MÁS FRÍA

Puede llevar a cabo comprobaciones regulares para

asegurar que la temperatura en la zona más fría es la

correcta, en caso necesario, ajuste el control de

temperatura del frigorífico como se indica en el capítulo

“Control de la temperatura”.

Para mantener la temperatura correcta dentro del

electrodoméstico, compruebe que el termómetro esté

siempre AZUL. Si el termómetro se vuelve BLANCO, la

temperatura es demasiado alta; en este caso, aumente el

ajuste del control de la temperatura del frigorífico y espere

6 horas antes de controlar el termómetro de nuevo.

NOTAS:

• La temperatura interna del frigorífico-congelador

depende de varios factores tales como la temperatura

ambiente de la habitación, la cantidad de alimentos

almacenados y la frecuencia con la que se abre la

puerta.

• Cuando se introduzcan alimentos frescos o cuando se

haya dejado la puerta abierta durante un tiempo, es

normal que el termómetro se vuelva BLANCO.

Esto se debe a que si se usara el ajuste MÁX (FREEZER
