Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for

future reference.



- Never suck up water or any other liquid. Never suck up ammable

substances and do not suck up ashes until they are cold.



- Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the

local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.



- Do not use the appliance if the plug, the mains cord or the appliance

itself is damaged.

- If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips, a

service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualied persons in

order to avoid a hazard.

- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)

with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of

experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or

instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for

their safety.

- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the

appliance.

- Do not point the hose, the tube or any other accessory at the eyes

or ears nor put it in your mouth when it is connected to the vacuum

cleaner and the vacuum cleaner is switched on.



- When you use the vacuum cleaner to vacuum ashes, ne sand, lime,

cement dust and similar substances, the pores of the dustbag become

clogged. As a result, the dustbag-full indicator will indicate that the

dustbag is full. Replace the disposable dustbag or empty the reusable

dustbag, even if it is not full yet (see chapter ‘Replacing/emptying the

dustbag’).

- Never use the appliance without the motor protection lter. This could

damage the motor and shorten the life of the appliance.

- Only use Philips s-bag synthetic dustbags or the reusable dustbag `

provided (some countries only).



This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic

elds (EMF). If handled properly and according to the instructions in this

user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientic evidence

available today.



1 Take the appliance and its accessories out of the box.

2 Remove any sticker, protective foil or plastic from the appliance.





1 To connect the hose, push it rmly into the appliance (‘click’). Make

sure the recess in the hose connection ts exactly on the projection

on housing of the appliance.

2 To disconnect the hose, push the buttons (1) and pull the hose out

of the appliance (2).



1 To connect the telescopic tube to the handgrip:

- Telescopic tube with conical connection (specic types only): Insert the

handgrip into the telescopic tube and turn a little.

- Telescopic tube with button connection (specic types only): Press the

spring-loaded lock button on the handgrip and insert the handgrip into

the telescopic tube. Fit the spring-loaded lock button into the opening

in the tube (‘click’).

,To disconnect the telescopic tube from the handgrip:

- Telescopic tube with conical connection (specic types only): Pull the

handgrip out of the telescopic tube while turning it a little.

- Telescopic tube with button connection (specic types only): Press the

spring-loaded lock button and pull the handgrip out of the tube.

2 Adjust the telescopic tube to the length you nd most comfortable

during vacuuming.

Hold the collar with one hand and pull the tube part above the collar

upwards or push it downwards with the other hand.

3 To connect the tube to a nozzle, press the spring-loaded lock button

on the tube and insert the tube into the nozzle. Fit the spring-loaded

lock button into the opening in the nozzle (‘click’).

1 Snap the crevice tool and the small nozzle into the clip.

2 Snap the accessory clip onto the tube.

3 Pull the accessory clip from the tube to remove it.



1 Snap the accessory holder onto the handgrip.

2 Store accessories in the accessory holder by pushing them into the

holder. To detach the accessories, pull them out of the holder.

You can store two accessories at a time in the accessory holder.

- Crevice tool and small nozzle.

Note: The small nozzle must be placed in the accessory holder as shown in the

picture.

- Crevice tool and small brush.



The Tri-Active nozzle is a multi-purpose nozzle for carpets and hard oors.

- The side brushes catch more dust and dirt at the sides of the nozzle

and allow you to clean better along furniture and other obstacles.

- The opening at the front of the nozzle allows you to suck up larger

particles.

1 Use the hard oor setting to clean hard oors (for instance for

tiled, parqueted, laminated and linoleumed ooring): push the rocker

switch on top of the nozzle with your foot to make the brush strip

come out of the housing. At the same time, the wheel is lifted to

prevent scratching and to increase manoeuvrability.

2 Use the carpet setting to clean carpets: push the rocker switch again

to make the brush strip disappear into the nozzle housing. The wheel

is lowered automatically.



- The hard-oor nozzle is designed for gentle cleaning of hard oors.

The mini turbo brush is specially designed for effectively picking up animal

hairs and uff from furniture and mattresses. The unique brush inside the

mini turbo brush loosens the hair from the fabric. Then the hair is picked

up by the vacuum cleaner.

The mini turbo brush can be attached to the handgrip of the hose or to

the telescopic tube.

1 To attach the mini turbo brush, insert it into the handgrip or the

telescopic tube and turn a little.

2 To detach the mini turbo brush, pull it out of the handgrip or the

telescopic tube while turning it a little.



1 Pull the cord out of the appliance and put the mains plug in the wall

socket.

2 Press the on/off button on top of the appliance to switch on the

appliance.

Tip: To avoid bending your back, press the on/off button with your foot.

3 If you want to park the tube for a moment during vacuum cleaning,

insert the ridge on the nozzle into the parking slot.

4 To ensure stable parking of the telescopic tube, adjust the tube to

the shortest length.

5 To switch off the appliance, press the on/off button on top of the

appliance or the on/off/standby button on the remote control.



1 During vacuum cleaning, you can adjust the suction power with the

selection wheel on top of the appliance.

- Use maximum suction power to vacuum very dirty carpets and hard

oors.

- Use minimum suction power to vacuum curtains, tablecloths etc.



1 Switch off the appliance and remove the mains plug from the wall

socket.

2 Press the cord rewind button to rewind the mains cord.

3 Put the appliance in upright position. To attach the nozzle to the

appliance, insert the ridge on the nozzle into the storage slot.

- To ensure stable parking of the telescopic tube, adjust the tube to the

shortest length.

4 Specic types only: Always put the Tri-Active nozzle in the carpet

setting when you store it. Also prevent the side brushes from

becoming bent.



Always unplug the appliance before you replace the disposable dustbag

or empty the reusable dustbag.



- Replace the dustbag as soon as the dustbag-full indicator has changed

colour permanently, i.e. even when the nozzle is not placed on the

oor.

1 Pull the cover upwards to open it.

2 Lift the dustbag holder out of the appliance.

Make sure you hold the dustbag upright when you lift it out of the

appliance.

3 Pull at the cardboard tag to remove the full dustbag from the holder .

,When you do this, the dustbag is sealed automatically.

4 Slide the cardboard front of the new dustbag into the two grooves of

the dustbag holder as far as possible.

5 Put the dustbag holder back into the vacuum cleaner.

Note: If no dustbag has been inserted, you cannot close the cover.

6 Push the cover downwards to close it.

In some countries, this vacuum cleaner also comes with a reusable dustbag

that can be used and emptied repeatedly. You can use the reusable dustbag

instead of disposable dustbags.

To remove and insert the reusable dustbag, simply follow the instructions

in ‘Replacing the disposable dustbag’.

To empty the reusable dustbag:

1 Slide the clip off the dustbag sideways.

2 Shake out the contents into a dustbin.

3 To close the dustbag, slide the clip back onto the bottom edge of the

dustbag.



Always unplug the appliance before you clean or replace the lters.



Clean the permanent motor protection lter every time you empty the

reusable dustbag or replace the disposable dustbag.

1 Remove the dustbag holder with the dustbag.

2 Press the tab at the top of the motor protection lter holder down

to release it.

3 Pull the top of the motor protection lter holder towards you (1)

and lift the lter holder out of the dustbag compartment (2).

4 Shake the lter over a dustbin to clean it.

5 Put the clean lter back into the lter holder.

6 Fit the two lugs of the lter holder behind the ridge at the bottom

to ensure that it ts properly at the top (1). Then press the lter

holder home (‘click’) (2).

7 Place the dustbag holder with the dustbag back into the appliance

and close the cover.



HEPA 13 washable lter is able to remove 99.95% of all particles down to

0.0003mm in size from the outlet air. This not only includes normal house

dust, but also harmful microscopic vermin such as dust mites and their

excrements, which are well-known causes of respiratory allergies.

Note: To guarantee optimal dust retention and performance of the vacuum

cleaner, always replace the HEPA lter with an original Philips lter of the

correct type (see chapter ‘Ordering accessories’).

Clean the washable HEPA 13 lter every 6 months. You can clean the

washable HEPA 13 lter max. 4 times. Replace the lter after it has been

cleaned 4 times.

1 Open the exhaust grille (1) and pull it out of the appliance (2).

2 Pull the top of the HEPA-lter lock grille towards you and put it in

upright position.

3 Take out the washable HEPA 13 lter.

4 Rinse the pleated side of the HEPA 13 lter under a hot slow-

running tap.

number 4322 004 93290.

- HEPA 13 washable lters are available under type number FC8038.



- Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste

at the end of its life, but hand it in at an ofcial collection point for

recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the environment.



This chapter summarises the most common problems you could

encounter with the appliance. If you are unable to solve the problem with

the information below, contact the Consumer Care Centre in your country.

1 The suction power is insufcient.

A Check if the dustbag is full.

If necessary, replace the disposable dustbag or empty the reusable dustbag

(some countries only).

B Check if the lters need to be cleaned or replaced.

If necessary, clean or replace the lters.

C Check if the suction power selection wheel is in maximum position.

D Check if the nozzle, tube or hose is blocked up.

- To remove the obstruction, disconnect the blocked-up item and

connect it (as far as possible) the other way around. Switch on the

vacuum cleaner to force the air through the blocked-up item in

opposite direction.

- N’aspirez jamais d’eau, de liquides, de substances inammables, ni de

par Philips, par un Centre Service Agréé Philips ou par un technicien

ou intellectuelles sont réduites, ou par des personnes manquant

- N’utilisez jamais l’appareil sans le ltre de protection du moteur. Vous

- Utilisez uniquement les sacs synthétiques Philips S-bag ou le sac `

réutilisable fourni (dans certains pays uniquement).

1 Pour raccorder le tuyau, insérez-le fermement dans l’appareil (vous

devez entendre un clic). Assurez-vous que le logement à l’intérieur

du raccord du tuyau s’adapte à la partie saillante du corps de

l’appareil.

2 Pour détacher le exible, appuyez sur les boutons (1) et retirez le

exible de l’appareil (2).



1 Pour xer le tube télescopique à la poignée :

- Tube télescopique avec raccord conique (certains modèles

uniquement) : insérez la poignée sur le tube télescopique et tournez

légèrement.

- Tube télescopique avec bouton de raccordement (certains modèles

uniquement) : appuyez sur le bouton de verrouillage de la poignée et

insérez la poignée dans le tube. Enclenchez le bouton de verrouillage

dans l’orice du tube (clic).

,Pour détacher le tube télescopique de la poignée :

- Tube télescopique avec raccord conique (certains modèles

uniquement) : retirez la poignée du tube télescopique en tournant

légèrement.

- Tube télescopique avec bouton de raccordement (certains modèles

uniquement) : appuyez sur le bouton de verrouillage et séparez les

deux parties.

2 Réglez le tube télescopique à la longueur qui vous convient.

Tenez la bague d’arrêt d’une main et tirez la partie du tube se trouvant au-

dessus vers le haut ou tirez sur le tube vers le bas avec l’autre main.

3 Pour xer un embout sur le bout du tube, appuyez sur le bouton

de verrouillage du tube et insérez le tube dans l’embout. Enclenchez

le bouton de verrouillage dans l’ouverture de l’embout (vous devez

entendre un clic).



1 Fixez le suceur plat et le petit embout sur le clip.

2 Fixez le clip sur le tube.

3 Détachez le clip pour accessoires du tube pour l’enlever.



1 Fixez le porte-accessoires sur la poignée.

2 Insérez les accessoires dans le porte-accessoires pour les ranger.

Tirez sur les accessoires pour les détacher.

Le porte-accessoires peut contenir deux accessoires à la fois.

- Suceur plat et petit embout

Remarque : Le petit embout se place dans le porte-accessoires comme indiqué

sur l’image.

- Suceur plat et petite brosse



La brosse Tri-Active est multifonctionnelle ; elle s’adapte aussi bien aux

moquettes qu’aux sols durs.

- Les brossettes latérales permettent de ramasser plus de poussière et

de saleté de part et d’autre de la brosse, pour un meilleur résultat le

long des meubles ou d’autres obstacles.

- L’ouverture à l’avant de la brosse permet d’aspirer les particules de

plus grande taille.

1 Utilisez la fonction sols durs pour nettoyer les sols durs (par

exemple, pour les sols pavés, en parquet, en laminé et en lino) : faites

sortir la brossette en actionnant du pied l’interrupteur à bascule

situé sur l’embout. La roue se soulève également an d’éviter les

rayures et d’augmenter la maniabilité de l’appareil.

2 Utilisez la fonction moquette pour nettoyer les moquettes : rentrez

la brossette en actionnant de nouveau le sélecteur. La roue descend

automatiquement.



- La brosse pour sols durs est conçue pour un nettoyage en douceur

des sols durs.



La Mini-brosse Turbo est spécialement conçue pour ramasser efcacement

les poils d’animaux et la poussière présents sur les meubles et les matelas.

La brosse unique située à l’intérieur de la mini-brosse Turbo retire les poils

et cheveux des tissus, qui sont ensuite aspirés.

La mini-brosse Turbo peut être xée à la poignée du exible ou au tube

télescopique.

1 Pour xer la mini-brosse Turbo, insérez-la sur la poignée ou le tube

télescopique et tournez légèrement.

2 Pour retirer la mini-brosse Turbo, séparez les deux parties en

tournant légèrement.



1 Sortez le cordon d’alimentation de l’appareil et branchez-le sur une

prise secteur.

2 Appuyez sur le bouton marche/arrêt de l’appareil pour l’allumer.

Conseil : Pour éviter de vous courber, appuyez sur le bouton marche/arrêt avec

votre pied.

4 Sur certains modèles uniquement : veillez à toujours rentrer la

brossette de la brosse Tri-Active lorsque vous rangez l’appareil pour

éviter que les brosses latérales ne se tordent.



Débranchez toujours l’appareil avant de remplacer le sac jetable ou de

vider le sac réutilisable.



- Remplacez le sac dès que le voyant de sac plein a changé de couleur, et

ce, même si la brosse n’est pas placée sur le sol.

1 Tirez sur le couvercle pour l’ouvrir.

2 Enlevez le support du sac de l’appareil.

Veillez à tenir le sac en position verticale lorsque vous l’enlevez de

l’appareil.

1 Retirez le support avec le sac.

2 Appuyez sur l’ergot situé au-dessus du porte-ltre de protection du

moteur pour le retirer.

3 Tirez la partie supérieure du porte-ltre de protection du

moteur vers vous (1) et retirez le porte-ltre du compartiment à

poussière (2).

4 Secouez le ltre au-dessus d’une poubelle et nettoyez-le.

5 Replacez le ltre propre dans le porte-ltre.

6 Insérez correctement les deux languettes du porte-ltre dans les

rainures prévues à cet effet (1). Ensuite, remettez le porte-ltre en

place (vous devez entendre un clic) (2).

7 Replacez le sac et son support dans l’appareil et refermez le

couvercle.



Le ltre lavable HEPA 13 permet de supprimer 99,95 % des particules de

plus de 0,0003 mm, c’est-à-dire non seulement la poussière domestique

normale, mais également les parasites microscopiques tels que les acariens,

ainsi que leurs excréments, causes connues d’allergies respiratoires.

Remarque : Pour garantir les performances et les qualités d’aspiration de

l’aspirateur, remplacez toujours le ltre HEPA par un ltre Philips approprié

(voir le chapitre « Commande d’accessoires »).

Nettoyez le ltre lavable HEPA 13 tous les 6 mois. Vous pouvez nettoyer le

ltre lavable HEPA 13 jusqu’à 4 fois. Remplacez-le après l’avoir utilisé 4 fois.

1 Ouvrez la grille d’évacuation (1) et retirez-la de l’appareil (2).

2 Tirez la partie supérieure de la grille du verrou du ltre HEPA vers

vous et placez-la en position verticale.

3 Retirez le ltre HEPA 13 lavable.

4 Rincez le côté plissé du ltre HEPA 13 sous l’eau chaude.

- Tenez le ltre de façon à ce que les zones plissées soient orientées vers

le haut et que l’eau s’écoule parallèlement à celles-ci. Puis, tenez le ltre

de façon à ce que l’eau élimine la poussière incrustée dans les zones

plissées.

- Tournez le ltre de 180° de façon à ce que l’eau s’écoule dans l’autre

sens, le long des zones tissées.

- Répétez cette opération jusqu’à ce que le ltre soit propre.

Ne nettoyez jamais le ltre lavable à l’aide d’une brosse.

Remarque : Le nettoyage ne permet pas au ltre de retrouver sa couleur

d’origine. En revanche, il lui permet de retrouver ses qualités de ltration.

5 Secouez le ltre pour en retirer l’excès d’eau. Laissez-le sécher

pendant au moins 2 heures avant de le replacer dans l’aspirateur.

6 Replacez le ltre dans l’appareil. Abaissez la grille du verrou du ltre

HEPA sur le ltre HEPA.

7 Insérez la grille du ltre à l’intérieur de l’appareil (1) et insérez

l’autre extrémité de la grille du ltre dans son logement (vous devez

entendre un clic) (2).



- Bila Anda menggunakan penyedot debu untuk menyedot abu, pasir

halus, kapur cat tembok, debu semen dan bahan sejenisnya, pori-

pori kantong debu menjadi tersumbat. Akibatnya indikator kantong

debu penuh akan menunjukkan bahwa kantong debu sudah penuh.

Ganti kantong debu sekali-pakai tersebut atau kosongkan kantong

debu pakai-ulang, sekalipun jika belum penuh (lihat bab ‘Mengganti/

mengosongkan kantong debu’).

- Jangan sekali-kali menggunakan alat tanpa lter pelindung motor. Ini

dapat merusak motor dan memperpendek masa pakai alat.

- Gunakan hanya kantong debu sintetis Philips s-bag atau kantong `

debu pakai-ulang, yang telah disediakan (hanya untuk beberapa negara).



Alat Philips ini mematuhi semua standar yang berkenaan dengan medan

elektromagnet (EMF). Jika ditangani dengan benar dan sesuai dengan

instruksi petunjuk pengguna ini, alat tersebut aman digunakan berdasarkan

pada bukti ilmiah yang kini tersedia.



1 Keluarkan alat dan aksesorinya dari kotak.

berbunyi ‘klik’). Pastikan ceruk di sambungan selang benar-benar pas

dengan sambungan pada rumah alat.

2 Untuk melepas selang, tekan tombol-tombolnya (1) dan tarik selang

hingga lepas dari alat (2).



1 Untuk menghubungkan tabung teleskopik ke pegangan:

- Tabung teleskopik dengan koneksi kerucut (hanya tipe tertentu):

Masukkan pegangan ke tabung teleskopik dan putar sedikit.

- Tabung teleskopik dengan koneksi tombol (hanya tipe tertentu): Tekan

tombol kunci berpegas pada pegangan dan masukkan pegangan ke

tabung teleskopik. Pasang tombol kunci berpegas ke dalam lubang pipa

(hingga berbunyi ‘klik’).

,Untuk melepaskan pipa teleskopik dari pegangan:

- Tabung teleskopik dengan koneksi kerucut (hanya tipe tertentu): Tarik

pegangan keluar dari tabung teleskopik sambil diputar sedikit.

- Tabung teleskopik dengan koneksi tombol (hanya tipe tertentu): Tekan

tombol kunci berpegas dan tarik pegangan keluar dari tabung.

2 Atur panjang tabung teleskopik agar Anda dapat nyaman

menggunakannya.

Pegang bagian kerahnya dengan satu tangan dan tarik bagian tabung di atas

kerah atau dorong ke bawah dengan tangan Anda yang satunya.

3 Untuk menghubungkan pipa ke nozel, tekan tombol kunci berisi per

pada pipa ke nozel. Masukkan tombol kunci berisi per ke lubang di

nozel (hingga berbunyi ‘klik’).



1 Pasang alat celah dan nozel kecil ke dalam klip.

2 Pasang klip aksesori pada pipa.

3 Tarik klip aksesori dari pipa untuk melepasnya.



1 Pasang penahan aksesori pada pegangan.

2 Simpan aksesori di penahan aksesori dengan menekannya ke

penahannya. Untuk melepaskan aksesori, tarik keluar dari penahannya.

Anda dapat menyimpan dua aksesori setiap kali pada penahan aksesori.

2 Gunakan setelan karpet untuk membersihkan karpet: tekan lagi

sakelarnya untuk memasukkan strip sikat ke rumah nozel. Roda akan

turun secara otomatis.



- Nozel lantai keras dirancang untuk membersihkan lantai keras dengan

lembut.



Sikat turbo mini dirancang khusus untuk memungut bulu binatang dan

kapas dari perabotan dan kasur secara efektif. Sikat unik yang berada di

dalam sikat turbo mini akan mengangkat bulu dari kain. Kemudian bulu

dipungut oleh penyedot debu.

Sikat turbo mini dapat dipasang pada pegangan selang atau tabung

teleskopik.

1 Untuk memasang sikat turbo mini, masukkan sikat ke pegangan atau

tabung teleskopik dan putar sedikit.

2 Untuk melepaskan sikat turbo mini, tarik keluar dari pegangan atau

tabung mini sambil memutarnya sedikit.



1 Tarik keluar kabel alat dan tancapkan steker listrik pada stopkontak

dinding.

2 Tekan tombol on/off di bagian atas alat untuk menghidupkan alat.

Tip: Agar tidak perlu membungkukkan punggung Anda, tekan tombol on/off

dengan kaki Anda.

4 Hanya tipe tertentu: Selalu atur nozel Tri-Active dalam pengaturan

karpet bila Anda menyimpannya. Juga jangan sampai sikat samping

menjadi bengkok.



Lepaslah selalu steker alat sebelum Anda mengganti kantong debu sekali-

pakai atau mengosongkan kantong debu pakai-ulang.



- Gantilah kantong debu bila indikator kantong debu penuh telah

berubah warna secara permanen, misalnya, sekalipun nozel tidak

diletakkan di lantai.

1 Tarik tutupnya ke atas untuk membukanya.

2 Angkat penahan kantong debu dari alat.

Pastikan Anda memegang kantong debu tegak lurus bila Anda

mengangkatnya dari alat.

1 Buka kisi saluran udara (1) dan tarik dari alat (2).

2 Tarik bagian atas kisi kunci lter HEPA ke arah Anda dan letakkan

dalam posisi tegak lurus.

3 Keluarkan lter HEPA 13 yang dapat dicuci.

4 Bilas sisi yang dilipat pada lter HEPA 13 di bawah keran air panas

yang mengalir perlahan.

- Pegang lter sedemikian rupa sehingga sisi yang dilipat menghadap ke

atas dan air mengalir sejajar dengan lipatannya. Pegang lter pada suatu

sudut agar air membilas kotoran di dalam lipatannya.

- Putar lter 180° dan biarkan air mengaliri lipatannya dalam

arah berlawanan.

- Lanjutkan proses ini sampai lter bersih.

Jangan bersihkan lter dengan sikat.

Catatan: Pembersihan tidak akan mengembalikan warna lter semula,

melainkan mengembalikan daya saringnya.

5 Dengan hati-hati goyangkan air dari permukaan lter. Biarkan lter

kering sendiri sekurangnya selama 2 jam sebelum Anda memasangnya

kembali ke penyedot debu.

6 Masukkan kembali lter tersebut ke dalam alat. Turunkan kisi kunci

lter HEPA pada lter HEPA.

7 Masukkan kisi lter ke dalam alat (1) dan tekan ujung lain pada rumah

kisi lter (hingga berbunyi ‘klik’) (2).


