2 BASICS
The user interface is designed as an OLED display with a rotary wheel and push button.
After switching on the device, an automatic system initialization is carried out, in which all four
air conditioning units are activated one after the other by the control. In a first step, only devices
that return an "active message" via digital inputs, within a defined period, are used for
temperature control for the period in which the controller is active. In case no digital input
response is received, a second step Modbus slave addresses 1 – 4 will be activated and checked
for “active message” via Modbus communication. The Modbus slave addresses are fixed and
cannot be changed.
The menu is navigated using the rotary wheel, the push button located in the rotary wheel and
the "back button" located next to it.

2.2 MENU NAVIGATION
The rotary wheel can be used to navigate through the individual main menus. Pressing the
pushbutton will access a respective submenu.
Within the submenus, the rotary wheel is used to navigate between the individual items.
The "Back" button brings you back from the submenu to the main menu.
2.3 SETTING VALUES
The parameters displayed can only be changed/adjusted in the parameter menu.
To do this, navigate to the corresponding menu item. Pressing the push button activates the
selection, the respective parameter starts to flash.
The value can now be changed within its respective limits using the rotary wheel.
Pressing the push button saves the set value permanently. Pressing the "Back" button prior to
the push button discards the entry and restores the last saved value.

2.4. DEFAULT DISPLAY
In case no specific menu is selected or after more than 1 minute of inactivity without any user
interaction, the display will show the default contents as specified under “Overview”.
After another minute of no user interaction, the display will become dark until any button is
pushed again.
3 PARAMETERS
The individual parameters and their effects are described below.
3.1 TEMPERATURE LIMIT 1
If the temperature exceeds the set temperature limit 1 (cooling operation) or falls below the set
temperature limit 1 (heating operation), by the set hysteresis value, the controller begins to use
the first aggregate to reach this target temperature.
3.2 TEMPERATURE LIMIT 2
If the temperature exceeds the set temperature limit 2 (cooling operation) or falls below the set
temperature limit 2 (heating operation), by the set hysteresis value, the control begins to use the
2nd unit to bring the target within temperature limit 1. 3.3 TEMPERATURE LIMIT 3
If the temperature exceeds the set temperature limit 3 (cooling operation) or falls below the set
temperature limit 3 (heating operation), by the set hysteresis value, the control begins to use the
3rd unit to bring the target within temperature limit 1.
3.4 TEMPERATURE LIMIT 4
If the temperature exceeds the set temperature limit 4 (cooling operation) or falls below the set
temperature limit 4 (heating operation), by the set hysteresis value, the control begins to use the
4th unit to bring the target within temperature limit 1.
3.5 ALARMLIMIT
If the temperature exceeds the alarm limit (cooling operation) or falls below the alarm limit
(heating operation), by the set hysteresis value, error code 13 is activated and an “all alarm
output signal is provided on terminal J7.
3.6 HYSTERESIS
The hysteresis setting refers to all 4 temperature limits. The hysteresis value is considered
positively and negatively around the respective temperature limit (limits 1 to 4), and thus
realizes the temperature difference between Thermo-ON and Thermo-OFF limits required in
practice.
7
3.7 ROTATION TIME
Dependent on the time limit set within this function, after each new unit request from
temperature limit 1, but also after a certain running time, the "master unit" is changed in
rotation.
Only units that have signaled their availability during the initialization run and that are not
currently in a fault state can be considered as new master units.
Starting from the current master unit, any units that are available and not in an error state are
switched on in a circular fashion (1-2-3-4) as required by the current temperature limit.
If more units are requested based on the temperature limits than are currently available, an
error message is issued.
3.8 OPERATING MODE
A distinction can be made here between heating and cooling.
Based on this input, the control sense of the four temperature limits is automatically adjusted.
The temperature limits for each mode can be set differently and are stored in memory.
3.9 LANGUAGE
The display language can be set here.
By factory default “English” language is selected. You can choose: English, German, French,
Spanish, Portuguese, Italian. When selecting any language, the display will change immediately
to the chosen language.
3.9 RESET TIME
The automatic alarm reset time can be set here.
Each time any error happens, see the error codes as specified under 5.1, that error will remain in
current memory for the selected time. Once the time has elapsed, the error will be automatically
cleared from memory and the corresponding system would be again available for the
redundancy, rotation and cascade function.
4 PROCESS DATA
Indicates the current actual values. This refers to a read only option. No temperature settings
can be made within this function.
8
4.1 AVAILABLE AGGREGATES
This shows which of the 4 possible systems or groups of systems are currently available,
considering the system initialization during startup, as well as the current alarm messages from
each system or group of systems.
4.2 CURRENT UNITS
Here you can see which systems or groups of systems are currently activated based on the
temperature limit, the rotation of the master unit and the fault status.
In case any currently active unit goes into fault, the next unit within the cycle (1-2-3-4) without
error will switch on.
5 CURRENT FAULT MESSAGES
All currently pending error messages are displayed on this menu page using an error code. If
several error messages are present at the same time, they are displayed one after the other
every second.
In this menu, the error messages can be manually cleared at any time, using the push button on
the rotary wheel.
5.1 THE FOLLOWING ERROR CODES ARE DISPLAYED:
0: 1st active system reports an alarm via the digital input
1: 2nd active system reports an alarm via the digital input
2: 3rd active system reports an alarm via the digital input
3: 4th active system reports an alarm via the digital input
4: 1st system does not start despite a request
5: 2nd system does not start despite the request
6: 3rd system does not start despite the request
7: 4th system does not start despite a request
8: EEPROM read error
9: Reserve
10: Reserve
11: External alarm message pending
12: Too few systems available
13: Temperature alarm - Temperature alarm threshold reached
