different heights.

Display
General
The display is used to select or set the
following:
ā the programme
ā any Extras
ā the Delay start function
ā the Settings ī menu
ā information
The display can show the following:
ā the programme name
ā the stage the programme is at
ā the current time of day and the date
ā the estimated time left for the proā
gramme to run
ā the energy and water consumption
(EcoFeedback)
ā any relevant fault messages and inā
formation
To save energy, the dishwasher
switches off after a few minutes if you
do not press any sensors during this
time.
To switch the dishwasher back on
again, press the sensor.ī
A dash ļin the display next to a sensor
indicates that a function can be selecā
ted with that sensor. The relevant senā
sor lights up.
The scroll bar on the right of the disāļ
play indicates that more options or
more text are available which can be
displayed by touching the relevant illuā
minated sensor.
A dotted line will appear under the last
option available.
Touch the sensor next to tOK o confirm
a message or setting and also to move
to the next menu or another menu level.
A tick will appear beside the optionī
which is currently selected.
To exit a sub-menu, touch the senāī
sor.
If you do not press any of the sensors
for several seconds, the display will reā
turn to the previous menu level. You
may need to enter your settings again.
The Settings ī menu is used to alter
the dishwasher's electronics to suit
different requirements (see "Settings
menu").

This dishwasher complies with current safety requirements. Inapā
propriate use can, however, lead to personal injury and damage to
property.
To avoid the risk of accidents and damage to the dishwasher,
please read the installation plan and the operating instructions
carefully before it is installed and used for the first time. They conā
tain important information on its installation, safety, use and mainā
tenance.
Keep the installation plan and the operating instructions in a safe
place and pass them on to any future owner.
Miele cannot be held liable for damage caused by non-compliā
ance with this information.

Correct application
ī This appliance is designed for domestic use and for use in similar
environments by guests in hotel or motel rooms, bed & breakfasts
and other typical living quarters. This does not include common/
shared facilities or commercial facilities within hotels, motels or bed
& breakfasts.
ī This dishwasher is not suitable for outdoor use.
ī It must only be used as specified in these operating instructions
for cleaning domestic crockery and cutlery. Any other usage is not
supported by the manufacturer and could be dangerous.
ī This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including chilā
dren) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack
of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given superviā
sion or instruction concerning its use by a person responsible for
their safety, and are able to recognise the dangers of misuse.

Safety with children
ī Young children must not be allowed to use this appliance.
ī Older children may only use the appliance when its operation has
been clearly explained to them and they are able to use it safely, recā
ognising the dangers of misuse.
ī Cleaning work may only be carried out by older children under the
supervision of an adult.
ī Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance. Keep small children away from the appliance at
all times to avoid the risk of injury. There is the risk that children may
lock themselves in the dishwasher.
ī If the automatic door opening mechanism (depending on model)
is active, keep young children away from the area in which the door
opens. Danger of injury in the unlikely event of a fault with the openā
ing mechanism.
ī Danger of suffocation! Children may be able to wrap themselves
in packing material or pull it over their heads with the risk of suffocaā
tion. Keep children away from any packing material.
ī Keep detergent and other household agents out of the reach of
children at all times. Some dishwasher detergents are strongly alkaā
line and contain irritants and corrosive ingredients. They can be exā
tremely dangerous if swallowed, and can cause burning in the
mouth, nose and throat, or inhibit breathing. Avoid contact with the
skin and eyes. Keep children away from the dishwasher when the
door is open. There could still be detergent residues in the cabinet
or dispenser. Seek medical advice immediately if your child has
swallowed or inhaled detergent, e.g. Poisons Information Centre
(Australia) or National Poisons Centre (NZ).

Technical safety
ī Repairs and other work by unqualified persons could be dangerā
ous. Installation, maintenance work and repairs to electrical applianā
ces must only be carried out by a Miele approved service technician.
ī Before installation, check the dishwasher for visible signs of damā
age. Under no circumstances should you use a damaged dishwashā
er. A damaged dishwasher could be dangerous.
ī The electrical safety of this appliance can only be guaranteed
when continuity is complete between it and an effective earthing
system. It is most important that this basic safety requirement is
present and regularly tested and, where there is any doubt, the elecā
trical system in the house should be checked by a qualified electriā
cian.
Miele cannot be held liable for the consequences of an inadequate
earthing system (e.g. electric shock).
ī Reliable and safe operation of this dishwasher can only be assurā
ed if it has been connected to the mains electricity supply.
ī The dishwasher must only be plugged into the electricity supply
via a suitable switched socket. The electrical socket must be easily
accessible after the dishwasher is installed so that it can be disconā
nected from the electricity supply at any time.
ī There must be no electrical sockets behind the dishwasher. Danā
ger of overheating and fire risk if the dishwasher were to be pushed
up against a plug.
ī The dishwasher must not be installed under a cooktop. The high
radiant temperatures which are sometimes generated by a cooktop
could damage the dishwasher. For the same reason, it should not be
installed next to open fires or other appliances which give off heat,
such as heaters etc.

ī To avoid the risk of damage to the dishwasher, make sure that the
connection data on the data plate (fuse rating, voltage and frequenā
cy) matches the mains electricity supply before connecting the dishā
washer to the mains. Consult a qualified electrician if in any doubt.
ī Do not connect the dishwasher to the mains supply until it has
been fully installed and any adjustment has been made to the door
springs.
ī The dishwasher may only be operated if the door opening mechaā
nism is working correctly. Otherwise there could be a risk of injury
whilst the automatic door opening mechanism (depending on model)
is active.
To check that the door opening mechanism is working correctly:
ā the door springs must be adjusted equally on both sides. They
are correctly adjusted when the door remains stationary when left
half open (approx. 45Ā° opening angle). It is also important that the
door cannot fall open.
ā the door locking pins automatically retract when the door opens
at the end of the drying phase.
ī Do not connect the appliance to the mains electricity supply by a
multi-socket adapter or an extension lead. These do not guarantee
the required safety of the appliance (e.g. danger of overheating).
ī This appliance must not be installed and operated in mobile inā
stallations (e.g. on a ship).
ī Do not install the dishwasher in a room where there is a risk of
frost. Frozen hoses may burst or split. The reliability of the electronic
control unit may be impaired at temperatures below freezing point.
ī To avoid any damage to the appliance, the dishwasher must only
be operated when it is connected to a fully vented plumbing system.
ī The plastic housing of the water connection contains an electrical
valve. The housing must not be dipped in water.

ī There are electrical wires in the water inlet hose. Do not cut the
water inlet hose, even if it is too long.
ī The integrated Waterproof system offers protection from water
damage, provided the following conditions are met:
ā The dishwasher is correctly installed and plumbed in.
ā The dishwasher is properly maintained and parts are replaced
where it can be seen that this is necessary.
ā The tap has been turned off when the appliance is not used for a
longer period of time (e.g. during holidays).
The Waterproof system will work even if the appliance is switched
off. However, the appliance must remain connected to the electricity
supply.
ī The water pressure (flow pressure at the connection point) must
be between 30 and 1000 kPa (0.3 and 10 bar).
ī A damaged appliance could be dangerous. If the dishwasher gets
damaged, switch it off at the mains and call Miele.
ī The manufacturer's warranty will be invalidated if the appliance is
not repaired by a Miele approved service technician.
ī Faulty components must only be replaced by genuine Miele spare
parts. The manufacturer can only guarantee the safety of the appliā
ance when Miele replacement parts are used.
ī During installation, maintenance and repair work, the appliance
must be disconnected from the mains electricity supply.
ī If the connection cable is damaged, it must be replaced with a
special cable of the same type (available from Miele) by a Miele auā
thorised service technician only in order to avoid a hazard.

ī In areas which may be subject to infestation by cockroaches or
other vermin, pay particular attention to keeping the appliance and
its surroundings in a clean condition at all times. Any damage which
may be caused by cockroaches or other vermin will not be covered
by the warranty.
Correct installation
ī The dishwasher must be installed and connected in compliance
with the installation instructions.
ī Be careful when installing the dishwasher. Wear protective
gloves to avoid injury on any sharp metal components.
ī The dishwasher must be correctly aligned to ensure problem-free
operation.
ī In order to ensure stability, built-under and integrated dishwashā
ers must only be installed under a continuous worktop which is seā
cured to adjacent cabinetry.
ī If you want to convert your freestanding dishwasher to a built-unā
der ("U") model, you will need to order the appropriate conversion
kit. If you remove the existing plinth, you must replace it with a U-
model plinth. This is necessary to avoid the risk of injury caused by
protruding metal parts.
ī The door springs on either side need to be evenly adjusted. They
are correctly adjusted if the half-opened door (approx. 45Ā° door
opening angle) remains in this position when it is released. The door
must not fall down under its own weight.
The appliance may only be used with correctly adjusted door
springs.

Correct use
ī Do not use solvents in the dishwasher. Danger of explosion!
ī Do not inhale or ingest dishwasher detergent. Some dishwasher
detergents are strongly alkaline and contain irritants or corrosive inā
gredients. They can be extremely dangerous if swallowed, and can
cause burning in the nose, mouth and throat, or inhibit breathing.
Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Seek medical advice immediā
ately if detergent has been swallowed or inhaled, e.g. Poisons Inforā
mation Centre (Australia) or National Poisons Centre (NZ).
ī Avoid leaving the door open unnecessarily as someone could trip
over it and be injured by it.
ī Do not sit or lean on the opened door. This could cause the dishā
washer to tip and be damaged, and you could get injured.
ī Dishes can be very hot at the end of a programme. Allow them to
cool until they are comfortable enough to handle before unloading.
ī Only use detergent and rinse aid formulated for domestic dishā
washers. Do not use washing-up liquid.
ī Do not use commercial or industrial detergents as these may
cause damage, and there is a risk of a severe explosive chemical reā
action (such as an explosive oxyhydrogen gas reaction).
ī Do not fill the rinse aid reservoir with powder or liquid detergent.
This will cause serious damage to the reservoir.
ī Inadvertently filling the salt reservoir with powder or liquid dishā
washer detergent will damage the water softener. Make sure you
have picked up the correct packet of dishwasher salt before filling
the salt reservoir!
ī Only use special coarse grained dishwasher salt for reactivation.
Do not use other salts such as cooking salt, agricultural grade or
gritting salt. These may contain insoluble additives which can impair
the functioning of the water softener.

ī In an appliance with a cutlery basket (depending on model) cutā
lery is cleaned and dried more efficiently if placed in the basket with
the handles downwards. However, to avoid the risk of injury, place
knives and forks etc. with the handles upwards.
ī Plastic items which cannot withstand being washed in hot water,
such as disposable plastic containers, or plastic cutlery and crockā
ery should not be cleaned in the dishwasher. The high temperatures
in the dishwasher may cause them to melt or lose shape.
ī If you use the "FlexiTimer/Delay start" option (depending on modā
el), make sure that the dispenser is dry before adding detergent.
Wipe dry if necessary. Detergent will clog if poured into a damp disā
penser and may not be thoroughly dispersed.
ī Please observe the information given in "Technical data" regardā
ing the capacity of the dishwasher.
Accessories
ī Use only genuine original Miele spare parts. If spare parts or acā
cessories from other manufacturers are used, the warranty will be inā
validated, and Miele cannot accept liability.
Disposal of your old dishwasher
ī Make the door lock inoperative so that children cannot accidenā
tally shut themselves in. Remove or destroy the locking bracket of
the door lock, and make appropriate arrangements for the disposal
of the appliance.

Disposal of the packing mateā
rial
The packaging is designed to protect
the appliance from damage during
transportation. The packaging materials
used are selected from materials which
are environmentally friendly for disposal
and should be recycled.
The packaging consists of the following
materials:
Outer packaging:
ā Corrugated cardboard made from up
to 100% recyclable material:
or: Polyethylene (PE) shrink wrap
ā Polyproplylene (PP) strapping
Inner packaging:
ā Chlorine and fluorine free expanded
polystyrene (EPS)
ā Base, lid frame and support battens
made from untreated natural wood
from renewable forests
ā Polyethylene (PE) protective wrap
Recycling the packaging reduces the
use of raw materials in the manufacturā
ing process and also reduces the
amount of waste in landfill sites. Rather
than just throwing these materials
away, please ensure they are recycled.
ī£Ensure that any plastic wrapā
pings, bags, etc. are disposed of
safely and kept out of the reach of
babies and young children. Danger
of suffocation.
Disposing of your old appliā
ance
Electrical and electronic appliances ofā
ten contain materials which, if handled
or disposed of incorrectly, could be poā
tentially hazardous to human health and
to the environment. They are, however,
essential for the correct functioning of
your appliance. Therefore, please do
not dispose of your old appliance with
your household waste.
Please dispose of it at your local comā
munity waste collection / recycling cenā
tre.
Ensure that your old appliance presents
no danger to children while being storā
ed for disposal.
To enable sorting by type of plastic for
recycling, all plastic parts of the appliā
ance are labelled with international
standard symbols.

Energy-saving dishwashing
This dishwasher is exceptionally ecoā
nomical in its use of water and electriciā
ty.
You can make the most of your appliā
ance by following these tips:
ā For most economical dishwashing,
make full use of the baskets without
overloading the dishwasher.
ā Choose the programme to suit the
type of crockery being washed and
the degree of soiling.
ā Select the prECO ogramme for enerā
gy-saving dishwashing. This proā
gramme is the most efficient in terms
of its combined energy and water
consumption at cleaning normally
soiled crockery.
ā If your dishwasher is connected to a
hot water supply, select the SolarSave
programme for washing a lightly to
moderately soiled load. Because the
water is not heated in this proā
gramme, crockery may still be slightly
damper at the end of this programme
than it would be with other proā
grammes.
ā Follow the detergent manufacturer's
recommendations on detergent dosā
age.
ā When using powder or liquid deterā
gent you can use 1/3 less detergent if
baskets are only half full.

EcoFeedback consumption inā
dicator
The function is used forConsumption
calling up information about the energy
and water consumption of your dishā
washer (see "Settings menu - Conā
sumption").
Three different types of information can
be displayed:
ā an estimate of the consumption beā
fore the programme begins
ā the actual consumption at the end of
the programme
ā the total consumption of the dishā
washer
1. Consumption estimate:
The estimated energy and water conā
sumption for a programme can be
shown in the display.
īSelect the programme you want.
īSelect the opāEstimated consumption
tion.
The estimated energy and water conā
sumption will appear in the display.
The estimated consumption levels will
be displayed as a bar chart. The more
bars ( ) in the display, the more enerāļ³ ļ³ ļ³
gy or water will be used.
The values are influenced by the proā
gramme selected and any programme
options selected.
The consumption indicator is switched
on as standard. However, you can also
switch the indicator off (see "Settings
menu - Consumption").
2. Actual consumption
At the end of the programme you can
call up the actual amount of energy and
water used by the programme which
has just been run.
īTo do this you first have to activate
the option in theDisplay consumption
"Settings - Consumption" menu.
īAt the end of the programme select
the option and confirmConsumption
your choice with .OK
Switching the dishwasher off at the
end of the programme will delete the
actual consumption values for the
programme which has just been run.
3. "Consumption" setting
The Total consumption setting gives a toā
tal of the energy and water which has
been used in all previous dishwasher
programmes (see "Settings menu -
Consumption").

Opening the door
At the end of programmes with a drying
phase (see "Programme chart"), the
door will open automatically a little in
order to help the drying process.
This function can be deactivated if preā
ferred (see "Settings menu -
AutoOpen").
īTo open the door, reach under the
door grip and pull.
īOpen the door fully t
o disengage the
locking mechanism.
The door locking pin then retracts.
If the door is opened during operation,
all functions are automatically interrupā
ted.
ī£Water in the dishwasher may be
hot. Danger of scalding!
Only open the door during operation
if absolutely necessary and exercise
extreme caution when doing so.
ī£Keep the area around the door
free of obstructions.

Closing the door
īPush the baskets right in.
īThen raise the door upwards until the
catch engages.
The door will then close automatically.
ī£Danger of injury!
Do not put your hand inside the door
as it is closing.
Safety lock
Use the safety lock to prevent children
opening the dishwasher door.
īTo lock the door, push the slide unā
derneath the door grip to the right.
īTo unlock the door, push the slide to
the left.

Basic settings
īSwitch the dishwasher on using the
ī sensor.
The welcome screen will appear when
the dishwasher is switched on for the
first time.
Language
The display will change automatically to
the screen for setting the language.
īSelect the language you want as well
as the country, if appropriate, and
confirm with .OK
To learn about the display, read the
section with the same name.
A tick will appear neīxt to the lanā
guage that has been set.
Date
The display will change to the screen
for setting the date.
You can show the actual date and time
in the display.
īSet the year using and confirm+/-
with .OK
īThen set the month and the day and
confirm them with .OK
Keeping your finger on the relevant
sensor will increase or decrease the
time automatically.
Time of day
The display will then change to the
screen for setting the time.
The time of day needs to be set before
the prDelay start ogramme option can
be used.
You can also show the current time of
day in the display.
īUse t+/- o set the hour and confirm
with .OK
īThen set the minutes and confirm
with .OK
Time of day display
The display will then change to the
screen for setting the display for the
time of day.
īSelect the display you require for the
time of day, and confirm this with .OK
īConfirm the message about energy
consumption with .OK
Before using for the first time

Water hardness
The display will change to the screen
for setting the water hardness.
ā The dishwasher must be programā
med for the water hardness in your
area.
ā Your local water authority will be able
to advise you of the water hardness
level in your area.
ā Where the water hardness fluctuates
e.g. between 1.8 and 2.7 mmol/l (10 -
15 Ā°d - German scale) always proā
gramme the dishwasher to the higher
value (2.7 mmol/l or 15 Ā°d in this exā
ample).
In the event of a fault, it will help the
service technician if you know the hardā
ness of your local water supply.

Before using the appliance for
the first time, you require:
ā approx. 1 kg dishwasher salt,
ā domestic dishwasher detergent,
ā rinse aid formulated for domestic
dishwashers.
Every dishwasher is tested at the facā
tory. There will be residual water in the
appliance from this test. It is not an inā
dication that it has been used previā
ously.
Dishwasher salt
In order to achieve good cleaning reā
sults, the dishwasher needs to operate
with soft water. Hard water results in a
build-up of calcium deposits on crockā
ery and in the dishwasher.
Mains water with a hardness level highā
er than 0.7 mmol/l (4 Ā°d - German
scale) needs to be softened. This takes
place automatically in the integrated
water softener. The water softener in
the dishwasher is suitable for a water
hardness level of up to 12.6 mmol/l
(70 Ā°d - German scale).
The water softener requires dishwasher
salt.
Depending on the water hardness level
(< 3.8 mmol/l, or 21 Ā°d - German scale),
dishwasher salt is not required if combiā
nation tablets are being used (see "Opā
eration - Detergent").
If the water hardness in your area is
constantly lower than 0.9 mmol/l
(5 Ā°d), you do not need to add dishā
washer salt. The prompt to add dishā
washer salt will be switched off autoā
matically. The water softener must,
however, still be programmed to corā
respond to the water hardness level in
your area.
ī£Dishwasher detergent will damā
age the water softener.
Do not fill the salt reservoir with
powder or liquid detergent.
ī£Only use special coarse grained
dishwasher salt for reactivation,
as other salts (e.g. cooking salt, agriā
cultural grade or gritting salt) may
contain insoluble additives which
can impair the functioning of the waā
ter softener.

Filling the salt reservoir
īWhen filling the salt reservoir only
open the door halfway to ensure
that all the salt gets into the reservoir.
īPress the button on the lid of the salt
reservoir in the direction of the arrow.
The flap will spring open.
īLift up the funnel.
Do fill the reservoir with water.not
īAdd dishwasher salt only until the
reservoir is full or until water runs out
of the opening. The salt reservoir
holds approx. 1 kg of salt, depending
on the brand used.
Do not add any more than 1kg of
salt.
As the salt reservoir is filled, displaced
water may overflow.
īClean any excess salt from around
the reservoir opening and then close
the flap.
īImmediately after filling the salt reserā
voir, run the Quick wash programme
with the Short programme option seā
lected and without any crockery in
the dishwasher, to remove any traces
of salt from the cabinet.

salt for reactivation when ī·Insuffi-
cient salt appears in the display (If it
appears during a programme, wait
until the end of the programme).
īConfirm with OK.

ī£Risk of corrosion!
Immediately after filling the salt resā
ervoir, run the programmeQuick wash
with the programme option seāShort
lected and without any crockery in
the dishwasher to remove any traces
of salt from the cabinet.
After the salt reservoir has been filled,
the refill reminder may still appear in the
display if the salt concentration has not
yet reached the correct level. If this is
the case, confirm again with OK.
The refill reminder will be switched off if
you have programmed the dishwasher
for a water hardness below 0.9 mmol/l
(5Ā°d - German scale).
If you only ever use multi-function
combination products in your dishā
washer, you can switch off both refill
reminders for salt and rinse aid if you
wish (see "Settings menu - Switching
off the refill reminders").
If you switch to using detergent that
does not contain salt or rinse aid, it
is important to remember to add
dishwasher salt and rinse aid and to
switch the reminders back on.

Rinse aid
Rinse aid is necessary to ensure water
does not cling and leave marks on
crockery during the drying phase and
helps crockery dry faster after it has
been washed.
Rinse aid is poured into the storage resā
ervoir and the amount set is dispensed
automatically.
ī£Inadvertently filling the rinse aid
reservoir with powder or liquid deterā
gent will damage the reservoir. Only
pour rinse aid formulated for domesā
tic dishwashers into the reservoir.
Alternatively, it is possible to use
ā household vinegar with a max. 5%
acid content
or
ā liquid citric acid up to 10% acid conā
tent
The resulting rinsing and drying quality
will not, however, be as good as when
rinse aid is used.
ī£Do not use vinegar with a higher
acid content (e.g. vinegar essence
25% acid).
This would damage the dishwasher.
If you only ever use combination
products containing rinse aid in your
dishwasher, you do not need to add
rinse aid.
Adding rinse aid
īPress the button on the lid of the
rinse aid reservoir in the direction of
the arrow until the flap springs open.

īAdd rinse aid only until it is visible in
the opening.
The rinse aid reservoir holds approx.
110 ml.
īClose the flap firmly so that it clicks
into place. Otherwise water can enter
the rinse aid reservoir during a proā
gramme.
īWipe up any spilled rinse aid. This
prevents over-foaming occurring durā
ing the next programme.
You can adjust the rinse aid dosage
for best results (see "Settings menu -
Rinse aid").

Notes
Remove coarse food residues from
crockery.
There is no need to rinse items under
running water.
ī£Do not wash items soiled with
ash, sand, wax, lubricating grease or
paint in the dishwasher. Ash does
not dissolve and is distributed in the
wash cabinet. Wax, sand, lubricating
grease and paint cause damage to
the dishwasher.
Crockery can be loaded anywhere in
the baskets, but the following notes
should be observed:
ā Do not place crockery and cutlery inā
side other pieces where they may be
concealed.
ā Load the crockery so that water can
access all surfaces. This ensures that
they get properly cleaned.
ā Make sure that all items are securely
positioned.
ā Hollow items such as cups, glasses,
pans, etc. must be inverted in the
basket.
ā Tall, narrow, hollow items, e.g. chamā
pagne glasses, should be placed in
the centre of the basket to ensure
better water coverage.
ā Wide based items should be placed
at an angle so that water can run off
them freely.
ā The spray arms must not be blocked
by items which are too tall or hang
through the baskets. If in doubt, test
for free movement by manually rotatā
ing the spray arms.
ā Make sure that small items cannot
fall through the holders in the basā
kets.
Small items, e.g. lids, should thereā
fore be placed in the cutlery tray or
cutlery basket (depending on model).
Some foodstuffs may contain natural
dyes, e.g. carrots, tomatoes or tomaā
to sauce. Plastic items in the dishā
washer may discolour if large quantiā
ties of these foodstuffs find their way
into the dishwasher on the crockery.
The stability of plastic items is not
affected by this discolouration.
Cleaning silver cutlery in the dishā
washer may also cause plastic items
to discolour.

Items not suitable for dishwashers:
ā Wooden cutlery and crockery or
items with wooden parts: these may
discolour and fade. The glue used in
these items is not dishwasher-proof
and wooden handles may come
loose after being washed in a dishā
washer.
ā Craft items, antiques, valuable vases
and decorative glassware are also
not suitable for dishwashers.
ā Plastic items which are not heat-reā
sistant: the high temperatures in the
dishwasher may cause them to melt
or lose shape.
ā Copper, brass, tin and aluminium
items may discolour or become matt.
ā Colours painted over a glaze may
fade after a number of washes.
ā Delicate glassware and glassware
containing lead crystal: clouding may
occur over time.
Please note
Silverware previously cleaned with a
silver polish may still be damp or spotā
ted at the end of a programme, where
water has not run off smoothly. It may
need to be rubbed dry with a soft cloth.
Silver which has been in contact with
foods containing sulphur can discolour.
These include egg yolk, onions, mayonā
naise, mustard, pulses, fish, fish brine
and marinades.
ī£Aluminium components (e.g.
rangehood grease filters) must not
be cleaned with caustic alkaline
commercial or industrial cleaning
agents.
These may damage the material, or
in extreme cases, there is a risk of a
severe explosive chemical reaction
(such as an explosive oxyhydrogen
gas reaction).
Useful tip: When purchasing new
crockery and cutlery, make sure they
are dishwasher-proof.
Glass care
ā Clouding may occur on glasses after
frequent washing. If delicate glassā
ware is washed in the dishwasher,
ensure that only very low temperaā
tures are used (see programme
chart), or a special glass-care proā
gramme is used (depending on modā
el). This will reduce the risk of cloudā
ing.
ā Purchase glassware which is dishā
washer-safe (e.g. Riedel glassware).
ā Use detergents with glass protective
additives (e.g. Miele CareCollection
tabs).

Adjusting the upper basket
In order to gain more space for taller
pieces of crockery in the bottom or upā
per basket, the upper basket can be
adjusted on three levels with 2 cm beā
tween each level.
The upper basket can also be set at an
angle with one side high and the other
side low. This can be useful to help preā
vent water being left in deep dishes etc.
Ensure, however, that the basket can
be inserted smoothly into the cabinet. It
is better to adjust the basket before
loading it.
īPull out the upper basket.
To raise the upper basket:
īPull the basket up until it clicks into
place.
To lower the upper basket:
īPull upwards on the levers at either
side of the upper basket.
īAdjust the basket to the desired
height and then push the levers seā
curely back down into position.
