Before preparing first cup of coffee

• Read operating and safety instructions carefully!

• Check voltage in your home (has to correspond

with information at the bottom of the

coffeemaker.)

• Insert plug – cord can be lenghtend or shortened

by using the cable storage ().

• Clean inner parts of coffeemaker by two complete

brewing processes only with clear water (see

“Coffee Preparation” Point 1 – 8, but without

using filterbag and coffee).

Coffee Preparation

1. Open filter by swinging it to the right side ().

2. Fill in needed amount of fresh, cold water into the

watertank with the glass jug ( ). By means of cup

scale on the watertank ( ) you can define the

desired amount of cups (small cup symbol = 90ml

ready coffee per cup, big cup symbol = 125ml

ready coffee per cup).

3. Fold a Melitta®filterbag size 1x4®and place it in

the filter ()

4. Fill needed amount of ground coffee

(recommendation: 1measuring spoon = 6g per cup)

into the filter.

5. Close the filterlid.

6. With the Aroma-Selector you can choose the

coffee result – from mild to strong – to your

personal taste ().

7. Place the glass jug into the appliance. Drip-stop

() is opened.

8. Switch on the appliance – on/off switch lights up

(). The brewing process starts.

As long as the appliance is switched on, the warming

plate keeps the coffee warm.

It is advisable for best coffee taste not to keep

coffee warm for more than 30 minutes to avoid

losses in taste and aroma.

Switch appliance off between two brewing cycles and

leave it to cool down for approx. 5 minutes

Cleaning and maintenance

• Before cleaning always remove plug from socket

• Never immerse appliance or cord in water

• Use a soft damp cloth to clean the exterior

• Glass jug and filter insert are dishwasher-proof

•Descaling: Regularly descaling ensures perfect

operation. We recommend to descale the appliance

after every 40 filtrations. Prepare and use descaler

advised on the package by the descaler

manufacturer.

Safety instructions

!When the appliance is switched on, some parts

(e.g. the warming plate) become hot.

Do not touch – risk of burning!

Always keep appliance out of the reach of children.

!Never allow the cord to come into contact with

the warming plate.

!Always pull the plug out of the socket before

cleaning or in case of absence for a long time.

!Never immerse the appliance in water.

!Glass jug is not microwave-proof.

!Do not use hot water. Only fresh, cold water

should be used to fill in the watertank.

!Do not open the filter lid during the coffee

brewing process.

!This appliance is not dedicated for use by persons

(incl. children) with limited physical, sensorical or

mentally ability or for lack of experience or/and

for lack of knowledge unless they are supervised

by a person, who is responsible for their security

or got instruction how the appliance has to be

used.

!Always keep the appliance out of the reach of

children, children shall be supervised to secure

that they will not play with the appliance.

!The replacement of the cord and all other repairs

must be carried out by authorized Melitta®

Customer Service Centres only or by a person of

similar qualification.

This appliance is designed to be used in households

and similar use as e.g.:

• in kitchens for staff in shops, offices, and other

commercial fields

• in agricultural properties

• by clients in hotels, motels and other residence

facilities

• in breakfast guesthouses.
