WORK AREA
âąKeep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.
âąDo not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flam-
mable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
âąKeep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a power tool. Distractions
can cause you to lose control.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
âąGrounded tools must be plugged into an outlet properly installed and grounded in
accordance with all codes and ordinances. Never remove the grounding prong or
modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adaptor plugs. Check with a qualified elec-
trician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. If the tools
should electrically malfunction or break down, grounding provides a low resistance path to
carry electricity away from the user. Applicable only to Class I (grounded) tools.
âąDouble insulated tools are equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other.) This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully
in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to
install a polarized outlet. Do not change the plug in any way. Double insulation elimi-
nates the need for the three wire grounded power cord and grounded power supply system.
Applicable only to Class II (double insulated) tools.
âąAvoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is grounded.
âąDonât expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
âąDo not abuse the cord. Never use the cord to carry the tools or pull the plug from an
outlet. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Replace damaged
cords immediately. Damaged cords increase the risk of electric shock.
âąWhen operating a power tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord marked âW-Aâ
or âW.â These cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk of electric shock. When
using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product
will draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and
overheating. The following table shows the correct size to use depending on cord length and
nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gage. The smaller the gage num-
ber, the heavier the cord.

PERSONAL SAFETY
âąStay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power
tool. Do not use tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
âąDress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair,
clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewelry, or long hair can be
caught in moving parts. Air vents often cover moving parts and should also be avoided.
âąAvoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is off before plugging in. Carrying tools with
your finger on the switch or plugging in tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
âąRemove adjusting keys or wrenches before turning the tool on. A wrench or a key that
is left attached to a rotating part of the tool may result in personal injury.
âąDo not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and
balance enables better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
âąUse safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Dust mask, non-skid safety shoes,
hard hat, or hearing protection must be used for appropriate conditions.
TOOL USE AND CARE
âąUse clamps or other practical way to secure and support the workpiece to a stable
platform. Holding the work by hand or against your body is unstable and may lead to loss of
control.
âąDo not force tool. Use the correct tool for your application. The correct tool will do the
job better and safer at the rate for which it is designed.
âąDo not use tool if switch does not turn it on or off. Any tool that cannot be controlled with
the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
âąDisconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing the tool. Such preventative safety measures reduce the risk of
starting the tool accidentally.
âąStore idle tools out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Tools are dan-
gerous in the hands of untrained users.
âąMaintain tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained tools,
with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
âąCheck for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other
condition that may affect the toolâs operation. If damaged, have the tool serviced
before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools.
âąUse only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model.
Accessories that may be suitable for one tool, may become hazardous when used on
another tool.
SERVICE
âąTool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service or mainte-
nance performed by unqualified personnel could result in a risk of injury.
âąWhen servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the
Maintenance section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow mainte-
nance instructions may create a risk of electric shock or injury.
Additional Safety Instructions for Planers
âą To reduce the risk of injury, user must read and understand instruction manual before oper-
ating planer.
âą Always wear eye protection and dust mask.
âą Be sure the voltage agrees with specific data on the nameplate.
âą Make certain that the switch is in the OFF position before connecting plug to a power source.
âą Be sure to switch OFF immediately if tool is jammed in work.
âą Be sure tool is set for correct depth before turning switch to ON.
âą Be sure to use specified replacement parts only.
âą Be sure tool is disconnected from power source when cleaning or making adjustments to
the tool.
âą Be sure to maintain tool with care. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing
accessories.
âą Stay alert â never operate the unit when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or
medication.
âą Be sure to store tool in a clean dry place after disconnecting from power source.
âą Do not use in dangerous environments. Do not use near flammable substances, in damp or
wet locations, or expose to rain.
âą Be sure that the blades are mounted as described in the instruction manual and check that
all screws are firmly tightened before connecting unit to power source.
âą Keep air vents unobstructed for proper motor cooling.
âą DO NOT lay tool down on shoe when the blades are exposed. This can chip the blades.
âą Keep side discharge chute unobstructed at all times.
âą Never reach under the tool for any reason unless it is turned off and UNPLUGGED. BLADES
ARE EXPOSED AND EXTREMELY SHARP.
âą Use this tool for working with wood and wood products only.
âą Never operate without securely holding the front handle.
âą Always operate planer with two hands.
âą Planer blades are extremely sharp. Handle with great care.
âą Clean out your tool often, especially after heavy use.
WARNING: Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other con-
struction activities contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproduc-
tive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are:
âą lead from lead-based paints,
âą crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products, and
âą arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated lumber (CCA).
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To
reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and work with approved
safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic
particles.
âąAvoid prolonged contact with dust from power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and
other construction activities. Wear protective clothing and wash exposed areas with
soap and water. Allowing dust to get into your mouth, eyes, or lay on the skin may promote
absorption of harmful chemicals.
WARNING: Use of this tool can generate and/or disburse dust, which may cause serious and
permanent respiratory or other injury. Always use NIOSH/OSHA approved respiratory protection
appropriate for the dust exposure. Direct particles away from face and body.
CAUTION: Wear appropriate hearing protection during use. Under some conditions and
duration of use, noise from this product may contribute to hearing loss.

OPERATION
Motor
Be sure your power supply agrees with the nameplate markings. 120 volts AC means your
tool may be operated only with alternating current and with direct current.never
Voltage decrease of more than 10% will cause loss of power and overheating. All DEWALT tools
are factory tested; if this tool does not operate, check the power supply.
Switch (Figure 1)
CAUTION: Check that the tool is not locked ON before connecting it to a power supply. If
the trigger switch is locked ON when the tool is connected to the power supply, it will start
immediately. Damage to your tool or personal injury may result.

CAUTION: Allow the tool to reach full speed before touching tool to the work surface. Lift the
tool from the work surface before turning the tool off.
To start the planer depress the trigger switch (A). To turn the planer off, release the trigger
switch.
LOCK-ON BUTTON
The tool can be locked on for continuous use. To lock the tool ON depress the trigger switch (A)
and push in the lock-on button (B). Hold the lock-on button in as you gently release the trigger
switch. The tool will continue to run.
To turn the tool OFF from a locked-on position, squeeze and release the trigger once.
Adjusting Planing Depth (Figure 1)
CAUTION: Turn off and unplug the tool before making any adjustments or removing or
installing accessories.
Planing depth is infinitely variable from 0 to .098" (2.5 mm). To adjust the cutting depth, rotate the
depth adjustment knob/front handle (C) clockwise from the â0â position. Each click of the adjust-
ment knob represents approximately 0.1mm of depth. The cutting depth will increase from 0 to as
much as .098".
It is recommended that test cuts be made in scrap wood after each re-adjustment to make sure
that the desired amount of wood is being removed by the planer. Several shallow passes (rather
than one deep one) will produce a smoother finish.
Planing (Figures 2, 3, 4)
CAUTION: Allow the tool to reach full speed before touching tool to the work surface. Lift the
tool from the work surface before turning the tool off.
Hold the planer in the correct position with one hand on the front handle (C) and the other hand
on the switch handle (D) as shown in Figure 2. Place the front of the shoe (E) on the surface to
be planed, making certain that the cutting blades are not touching the surface. Push down firm-
ly on the front handle of the planer so that the front shoe is ABSOLUTELY FLAT on the work sur-
face. Squeeze the trigger switch and allow the motor to reach full speed before touching the
planer blades to the work surface.
Move the tool slowly into the work and maintain downward pressure to keep the planer flat. Be
particularly careful to keep the tool flat at the beginning and the end of the work surface
(Figures 2, 3, 4).
Planing Tip: For a smoother appearance, fasten a piece of scrap wood to the end of the piece
you are planing. Donât stop planing until the cutting blades of the planer are past your work piece
and into the scrap material.
Rabbet Fence (Figures 5, 6)
CAUTION: Turn off and unplug the tool before making any adjustments or removing or
installing accessories.
CAUTION: Allow the tool to reach full speed before touching tool to the work surface. Lift the
tool from the work surface before turning the tool off.
The rabbet fence can be installed on either side of your planer. The planer can make rabbet cuts
up to .5" (12mm).
TO INSTALL RABBET FENCE
1. Loosen the rabbet fence adjustment knob (G).
2. Slide the crossbar on the rabbet fence (F) into the hole near the front of the planer as shown
in Figure 5.
3. Securely tighten rabbet fence adjustment knob (G).
3. The rabbet fence should be below the planer when installed correctly as shown in Figure 5.
TO MAKE A RABBET CUT
1. Turn the rabbet fence adjustment knob (G) to adjust the desired width of cut.
2. Make several cuts until the desired depth is reached.
NOTE: It will be necessary to make quite a few cuts for most rabbet applications.
To Change Blades (Figures 7, 8, 9, 10)
CAUTION: Turn off and unplug the tool before making any adjustments or removing or
installing accessories.
NOTE: The DW680 has two blades, one on each side of the blade drum, as shown in Figure 7.
Any operation or adjustment should be made to both blades.
REVERSIBLE CARBIDE BLADES
1. To Remove Blade from Planer
a. Loosen and remove the three Allen head screws (J) with the 5mm Allen wrench provided.
Remove the drum cover (K) from the drum (Q).
b. Remove the blade carrier/guide bar assembly. Carefully remove the carbide blade (I).
2. To Adjust Blade Using Gauge Plate (provided with tool)
a. Cautiously place the carbide blade on the gauge plate (N) with the grooved side of the
carbide blade facing up. Either edge of the reversible carbide blade can be set flush
against the gauge plate inside wall (O).
b. Place the blade so that the rib on the blade car-blade carrier/guide bar assembly on the
rier (L) fits into the groove on the carbide blade (I). The heel of the blade carrier (M) will
overlap the end of the gauge plate (N).
c. Loosen the two Allen screws (P) with the 2.5mm Allen wrench provided.
d. Simultaneously push the blade carrier (L) and the guide bar (M) into the gauge plate
inside wall (O), making sure that the carbide blade (I) is held firmly against the gauge plate
inside wall (O) and securely tighten the two Allen screws (P).
3. To Reinstall Blade
a. Remove the adjusted blade carrier/guide bar assembly from the gauge plate (N) and
place the heel of the guide bar (M) into the groove on the drum (Q).
b. Place the drum cover (K) over the blade carrier/guide bar assembly. Loosely screw the
three Allen screws (J) into the drum (Q) so that there is a small gap between the drum
and the blade carrier (L).
c. Slide the carbide blade between the drum (Q) and the blade carrier (L) so that the rib on
the blade carrier sets into the groove in the blade.
d. Center the carbide blade (I) under the blade carrier (L) making sure the blade is clear of
the tool housing on both sides.
e. Securely tighten the three Allen screws (J) to the drum.
4. Repeat procedure for the other blade.
HIGH SPEED STEEL BLADES
1. To Remove Blade from Planer
a. Loosen and remove the three Allen head screws (J) with the 5mm Allen wrench provided.
Remove the drum cover (K) from the drum (Q).
b. Cautiously remove the guide bar/high speed steel blade assembly.
2. To Adjust Blade Using Gauge Plate (provided with tool)
a. Place the gauge plate (N) with the cut-guide bar/high speed steel blade assembly on the
ting edge of the high speed steel blade flush against the gauge plate inside wall (O). The
heel of the guide bar (M) will overlap the end of the gauge plate (N).
b. Loosen the two Allen screws (P) with the 2.5mm Allen wrench provided.
c. Simultaneously push the high speed steel blade (R) and the guide bar (M) into the gauge
plate inside wall (O), making sure that the blade is held firmly against the gauge plate
inside wall (O) and securely tighten Allen screws (P).
3. To Reinstall Blade
a. Cautiously remove the adjusted guide bar/high speed steel blade assembly from the
gauge plate (N) and place the heel of the guide bar (M) into the groove in the drum (Q).
b. Set the drum cover (K) over the adjusted guide bar/high speed steel blade assembly and
securely tighten the three Allen screws (J) to the drum.
4. Repeat procedure for the other blade.
Parking Foot (Figure 11)
Your planer is equipped with a parking foot (S) that automatically lowers into place when the tool
is lifted from the work surface. When planing, the parking foot raises as the tool is pushed for-
ward. When the parking foot is lowered, the planer can set on the work surface without the blade
touching.
CAUTION: Do not lock the trigger switch on and engage the parking foot. The vibration of the
running motor will cause the planer to move, possibly falling from the work piece.
Edge Chamfering (Figure 12)
Your planer has three precision machined chamfering grooves (T) in the front shoe for planing
along a corner of the wood (Fig. 12). The width of the grooves are 1.5mm, 2mm, and 2.5mm.
Itâs a good idea to try a piece of scrap wood before doing finish work.
MAINTENANCE
Cleaning (Figure 13)
WARNING: Clean the chip discharge chute (H) regularly. ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY
GLASSES.
CAUTION: Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals for cleaning the non-metallic parts
of the tool.
Use only mild soap and damp cloth to clean the tool. Never let any liquid get inside the tool;
never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
Lubrication
DEWALT tools are properly lubricated at the factory and are ready for use.
Accessories
Recommended accessories (high speed steel blades and reversible carbide blades) for use with
your tool are available at extra cost from your local dealer or authorized service center. If you need

de lâoutil. Une rallonge de calibre trop faible pourrait causer une chute de tension se traduisant
par une perte de courant et une surchauffe. Le tableau qui suit indique le calibre approprié
selon la longueur de la rallonge et lâintensitĂ© indiquĂ©e sur la plaque signalĂ©tique. En cas de
doute, utiliser le calibre supérieur suivant. Plus le numéro de calibre est petit, plus le calibre
de la rallonge est élevé.

SĂCURITĂ PERSONNELLE
âąDemeurer alerte, prĂȘter attention Ă ce que lâon fait et faire preuve de bons sens
lorsquâon utilise un outil Ă©lectrique. Ne pas utiliser un outil lorsquâon ressent de la
fatigue ou aprĂšs avoir consommĂ© des drogues, de lâalcool, ou des mĂ©dicaments. Un
moment dâinattention durant lâutilisation dâoutils Ă©lectriques peut entraĂźner de graves
blessures.
âąPorter des vĂȘtements appropriĂ©s. Ne pas porter des vĂȘtements amples ou des bijoux.
Les cheveux longs doivent ĂȘtre retenus. Tenir les cheveux, les vĂȘtements et les gants
Ă lâĂ©cart des piĂšces mobiles. Les vĂȘtements amples, les bijoux et les cheveux longs peu-
vent ĂȘtre happĂ©s par des piĂšces mobiles. Se tenir Ă©loignĂ© des Ă©vents puisque ces derniers
pourraient camoufler des piĂšces mobiles.
âąĂviter le dĂ©marrage accidentel. Sâassurer que lâinterrupteur est en position dâarrĂȘt
avant de brancher lâoutil. Le fait de transporter un outil en appuyant sur la gĂąchette ou de
le brancher lorsque lâinterrupteur se trouve en position de marche peut causer des accidents.
âąDĂ©poser les clĂ©s de rĂ©glage ou de serrage avant de mettre lâoutil en marche. Une clĂ©
laissĂ©e fixĂ©e Ă une piĂšce rotative de lâoutil peut entraĂźner des blessures.
âąNe pas tendre le bras trop loin. Il faut demeurer en Ă©quilibre en tout temps. Un bon
Ă©quilibre permet une meilleure maĂźtrise de lâoutil dans les situations inattendues.
âąUtiliser du matĂ©riel de sĂ©curitĂ©. Toujours porter des lunettes de protection. Il faut utilis-
er, au besoin, un masque antipoussiÚres, des chaussures de sécurité antidérapantes, un
casque de sĂ©curitĂ© ou des protecteurs dâoreilles.
UTILISATION DES OUTILS ET PRĂCAUTIONS
âąUtiliser des pinces ou un autre moyen pratique de fixer et de soutenir la piĂšce Ă tra-
vailler sur une plate-forme stable. Le fait de tenir la piĂšce avec la main ou de lâappuyer
contre le corps ne permet pas de la stabiliser et cela risque de causer une perte de maĂźtrise.
âąNe pas forcer lâoutil. Utiliser celui qui convient au travail Ă effectuer. Lâoutil adĂ©quat per-
met de faire le travail de façon plus convenable et sĂ»re lorsquâil est employĂ© suivant lâutilisa-
tion pour laquelle il a été conçu.
âąNe pas utiliser lâoutil si lâinterrupteur ne permet pas de le mettre sous ou hors tension.
Tout outil impossible Ă commander au moyen de lâinterrupteur est dangereux et doit ĂȘtre
réparé.
âąDĂ©brancher la fiche de la source dâalimentation avant dâeffectuer des rĂ©glages, de
changer dâaccessoire ou de ranger lâoutil. De telles mesures prĂ©ventives rĂ©duisent le
risque de le mettre en marche accidentellement.
âąRanger les outils hors de la portĂ©e des enfants et des autres personnes non qualifiĂ©es.
Les outils sont dangereux entre les mains dâutilisateurs non qualifiĂ©s.
âąVeiller Ă entretenir correctement les outils. Les accessoires de coupe doivent ĂȘtre
maintenus bien affĂ»tĂ©s et propres. Des outils bien entretenus, et dont les arĂȘtes sont
coupantes, sont moins susceptibles de se coincer et sont plus faciles Ă manier.
âąVĂ©rifier la prĂ©sence de piĂšces mobiles mal alignĂ©es ou coincĂ©es, de piĂšces brisĂ©es ou
de toute autre condition pouvant altĂ©rer le fonctionnement de lâoutil. Si lâoutil est
endommagĂ©, il faut le faire rĂ©parer avant de lâutiliser. De nombreux accidents sont
causés par des outils mal entretenus.
âąUtiliser seulement des accessoires recommandĂ©s par le fabricant du modĂšle. Des
accessoires convenant Ă un outil peuvent ĂȘtre dangereux lorsquâon les installe sur un autre
outil.
RĂPARATION
âąSeules des personnes qualifiĂ©es peuvent rĂ©parer les outils. Une rĂ©paration ou un entre-
tien effectuĂ© par une personne non qualifiĂ©e risque dâentraĂźner des blessures.
âąIl faut utiliser uniquement des piĂšces de rechange identiques pour rĂ©parer un outil.
Suivre les directives figurant dans la section « Entretien » du prĂ©sent guide. Lâemploi

âą Sâassurer de prendre bien soin de lâoutil. Suivre rigoureusement toute instruction relative Ă la
lubrification et au changement dâaccessoire.
âą Rester vigilant - ne jamais utiliser lâappareil en cas de fatigue ou sous lâinfluence de la drogue,
lâalcool ou les mĂ©dicaments.
âą Sâassurer de bien ranger lâoutil dans un endroit propre et sec aprĂšs lâavoir dĂ©branchĂ©.
âą Ne pas lâutiliser dans un environnement dangereux. Ne pas lâutiliser prĂšs de substances
inflammables, dans des endroits humides ou mouillĂ©s, ou lâexposer Ă la pluie.
âą Sâassurer que ses lames ont bien Ă©tĂ© montĂ©es suivant les instructions du manuel, et que
toute vis sur lâappareil est bien serrĂ©e avant de le brancher.
âą Maintenir tout Ă©vent libre de toute obstruction pour assurer le refroidissement du moteur.
âą NE PAS poser lâoutil sur son patin lorsque ses lames sont exposĂ©es. Ces derniĂšres pour-
raient subir des dommages.
âą Toujours maintenir tout orifice dâĂ©jection latĂ©ral libre de toute obstruction.
âą Ne jamais passer sa main sous lâoutil Ă moins quâil soit Ă lâarrĂȘt et DĂBRANCHĂ. SES
LAMES SONT EXPOSĂES ET EXTRĂMEMENT COUPANTES.
âą Nâutiliser cet outil que pour travailler le bois ou tout produit Ă base de bois.
âą Maintenir solidement lâappareil par sa poignĂ©e avant lors de toute utilisation.
âą Toujours utiliser la raboteuse Ă deux mains.
âą Les lames de la raboteuse sont extrĂȘmement coupantes. Utiliser la raboteuse avec la plus
grande vigilance.
âą Nettoyer lâoutil souvent, surtout aprĂšs tout usage intensif.
AVERTISSEMENT : Certaines poussiÚres créées par le ponçage, le sciage, le meulage et le
forage mĂ©canique ainsi que dâautres activitĂ©s de construction contiennent des produits chim-
iques reconnus pour causer le cancer, des anomalies congĂ©nitales ou dâautres anomalies liĂ©es
Ă la reproduction. Parmi ces produits chimiques, citons notamment :
âą le plomb des peintures au plomb;
⹠la silice cristalline provenant des briques, du béton et autres matériaux de maçonnerie;
âą lâarsenic et le chrome provenant du bois traitĂ© (arsĂ©niate de cuivre et de chrome).
Le risque associé à ces expositions varie selon la fréquence de ces types de travaux. Pour
rĂ©duire lâexposition aux produits chimiques : travailler dans un local bien ventilĂ© et utiliser du
matériel de sécurité approuvé, comme les masques anti-poussiÚres spécialement conçus pour
filtrer les particules microscopiques.
âąĂviter le contact prolongĂ© avec la poussiĂšre provenant du ponçage, du sciage, du
meulage et du forage mĂ©canique ainsi que dâautres activitĂ©s de construction. Porter
des vĂȘtements de protection et laver les parties exposĂ©es au savon et Ă lâeau. Le fait
de permettre à la poussiÚre de pénétrer dans la bouche et les yeux ou de se déposer sur la
peau peut favoriser lâabsorption de produits chimiques nocifs.
AVERTISSEMENT : Cet outil peut produire et répandre de la poussiÚre susceptible de causer
des dommages sérieux et permanents au systÚme respiratoire. Toujours utiliser un appareil res-

FONCTIONNEMENT
Moteur
Sâassurer que le courant utilisĂ© correspond bien Ă celui indiquĂ© sur la plaque signalĂ©tique. La
mention 120 c.a. prĂ©cise que lâoutil doit toujours fonctionner sur courant alternatif et jamais sur
courant continu.
Une baisse de voltage de plus de 10% causera perte de puissance et surchauffe. Tous les out-
ils DEWALT sont testĂ©s en usine; si lâoutil ne fonctionne pas correctement, vĂ©rifier la source dâal-
imentation.
Interrupteur (figure 1)
MISE EN GARDE : Sâassurer que lâoutil nâest pas verrouillĂ© en position de MARCHE avant
de le brancher. Si lâinterrupteur est verrouillĂ© en position de MARCHE lors du branchement,
lâoutil dĂ©marrera automatiquement. Cela pose des risques pour lâoutil et lâutilisateur.
MISE EN GARDE : Laisser lâoutil gagner sa vitesse maximum avant de le mettre en contact
avec la surface Ă travailler. Retirer lâoutil de la piĂšce Ă travailler avant de lâarrĂȘter.
Pour mettre la raboteuse en marche, appuyer sur lâinterrupteur Ă gĂąchette (A). Pour arrĂȘter la
raboteuse, relĂącher lâinterrupteur Ă gĂąchette.
BOUTON DE VERROUILLAGE EN POSITION DE MARCHE
Lâoutil peut ĂȘtre verrouillĂ© en position de marche continue. Pour verrouiller lâoutil en position de
MARCHE appuyer sur lâinterrupteur Ă gĂąchette (A) puis pousser le bouton de verrouillage en
position de marche (B). Maintenir ce bouton de verrouillage enfoncé tout en relùchant lentement
lâinterrupteur. Lâoutil continuera de fonctionner,
Pour arrĂȘter lâoutil lorsquâil est verrouillĂ© en position de marche, appuyer puis relĂącher une fois
sur lâinterrupteur Ă gĂąchette.
RĂ©glage de la profondeur de rabotage (figure 1)
MISE EN GARDE : ArrĂȘter et dĂ©brancher lâoutil avant tout rĂ©glage ou avant de retirer
ou installer toute piĂšce ou tout accessoire.
La profondeur de rabotage varie indéfiniment de 0 à 0,098 po (2,5 mm). Pour régler la pro-
fondeur de coupe, ajuster le bouton de réglage de la profondeur/poignée avant (C) dans le sens
des aiguilles dâune montre Ă partir de la position â0â. Chaque clic du bouton de rĂ©glage corre-
spond Ă une profondeur approximative de 0,1 mm. La profondeur de coupe peut aller de 0 Ă
0,098 po (2,5 mm).
Il est recommandé de faire un essai sur un morceau de bois aprÚs chaque réajustement pour
sâassurer que seule la quantitĂ© de bois dĂ©sirĂ©e sera enlevĂ©e par la raboteuse. Plusieurs pas-
sages lĂ©gers (plutĂŽt quâun seul profond) produiront un fini plus satinĂ©.
Pabotage (figures 2, 3, 4)
MISE EN GARDE : Laisser lâoutil gagner sa vitesse maximum avant de le mettre en contact
avec la surface Ă travailler. Retirer lâoutil de la piĂšce Ă travailler avant de lâarrĂȘter.
Maintenir la raboteuse dans la bonne position une main sur la poignĂ©e avant (C) et lâautre sur
la poignĂ©e avec interrupteur (D) (Fig. 2). Placer lâavant du patin (E) sur la surface Ă raboter, en
sâassurant que les lames ne touchent pas la surface. Appuyer fermement sur la poignĂ©e avant
de la raboteuse pour que le patin avant soit COMPLĂTEMENT Ă PLAT sur la surface Ă tra-
