Alarms
You can set up to fi ve independent multi-function alarms
with hour, minutes, month, and day. When an alarm is
turned on, the alarm tone sounds when the alarm time
is reached. One of the alarms can be confi gured as a
snooze alarm or a one-time alarm, while the other four are
one-time alarms.
You can also turn on an Hourly Time Signal that causes
the watch to beep twice every hour on the hour.
There are fi ve alarms numbered x1 through
5. You can
confi gure Alarm1 as a snooze alarm or a one-time alarm.
Alarms 2 through
5 can be used as one-time alarms
only.
All of the operations in this section are performed in the x
Alarm Mode, which you enter by pressing (page E-4).C

To toggle between 12-hour and 24-hour timekeeping
In the Timekeeping Mode, press to toggle between 12-hour timekeeping and D
24-hour timekeeping.
With the 12-hour format, the xP (PM) indicator appears to the left of the hour digits for
times in the range of noon to 11:59 p.m. and no indicator appears to the left of the
hour digits for times in the range of midnight to 11:59 a.m.
With the 24-hour format, times are displayed in the range of 0:00 to 23:59, without x
any indicator.
The 12-hour/24-hour timekeeping format you select in the Timekeeping Mode is x
applied in all other modes.

When the setting you want to change is fl ashing, press 3. to change it as D
described below.

Pressing xD while the seconds are in the range of 30 to 59 resets them to and 00
adds 1 to the minutes. In the range of 00 to 29, the minutes are unchanged.

The day of the week is automatically displayed in accordance with the date (year, x
month, and day) settings.
The year can be set in the range of 2000 to 2099. x
The watch’s built-in full automatic calendar automatically makes allowances for x
different month lengths and leap years. Once you set the date, there should be no
reason to change it except after you have the watch’s battery replaced.

Use the Timekeeping Mode to set and view the current
time and date.
To set the time and date
In the Timekeeping Mode, hold down 1. until the A
seconds start to fl ash, which indicates the setting
screen.
Press 2. to move the fl ashing in the sequence shown C
below to select other settings.

About This Manual
Depending on the model of your watch, display text x
appears either as dark fi gures on a light background or
light gures on a dark background. All sample displays
in this manual are shown using dark gures on a light
background.
Button operations are indicated using the letters shown x
in the illustration.
Each section of this manual provides you with the x
information you need to perform operations in each
mode. Further details and technical information can be
found in the “Reference” section.

Stopwatch
The stopwatch lets you measure elapsed time, split times,
and two fi nishes.
The display range of the stopwatch is 23 hours, 59 x
minutes, 59.99 seconds.
The stopwatch continues to run, restarting from zero after x
it reaches its limit, until you stop it.
The stopwatch measurement operation continues even if x
you exit the Stopwatch Mode.
Exiting the Stopwatch Mode while a split time is frozen x
on the display clears the split time and returns to elapsed
time measurement.
All of the operations in this section are performed in the x
Stopwatch Mode, which you enter by pressing (page C
E-5).

To turn auto-repeat on and off
In the Countdown Timer Mode, hold down 1. until the A
hours setting of the countdown start time starts to fl ash,
which indicates the setting screen.
Press 2. to toggle auto-repeat on ( displayed) BA.RPT
and off ( not displayed).A.RPT
Note that pressing xB in the above operation also turns
on illumination.
When the end of the countdown is reached while x
auto-repeat is on, the alarm sounds, but the countdown
restarts from the beginning without stopping. You can
stop the countdown by pressing and manually reset to D
the start time by pressing .A
The auto-repeat indicator appears in the Countdown x
Timer Mode only.

The countdown timer measurement operation continues even if you exit the x
Countdown Timer Mode.
Press xD D while a countdown operation is in progress to pause it. Press again to
resume the countdown.
To completely stop a countdown operation, rst pause it (by pressing xD), and then
press . This returns the countdown time to its starting value.A
To set the countdown start time
In the Countdown Timer Mode, hold down 1. until the A
hours setting of the countdown start time starts to fl ash,
which indicates the setting screen.
Press 2. to move the fl ashing between the hours and C
minutes settings.
While a setting is fl ashing, use 3. to increase it.D
To set the starting value of the countdown time to 24 x
hours, set 0:00.
Press 4. to exit the setting screen.A

Countdown Timer
The countdown timer can be set within a range of one
minute to 24 hours. An alarm sounds when the countdown
reaches zero.
You can also select auto-repeat, which automatically x
restarts the countdown from the original value you set
whenever zero is reached.
All of the operations in this section are performed in the x
Countdown Timer Mode, which you enter by pressing C
(page E-5).
To use the countdown timer
Press while in the Countdown Timer Mode to start the D
countdown timer.
When the end of the countdown is reached and auto-repeat is turned off, the alarm x
sounds for 10 seconds or until you stop it by pressing any button. The countdown
time is automatically reset to its starting value after the alarm stops.

In the Alarm Mode, use 1. to select a one-time alarm D

The on/off status of Alarms x2 through
5 and the Hourly
Time Signal is shown by indicators along the bottom of
the displays.
The alarm on indicators and Hourly Time Signal on x
indicator are displayed in all modes.
While an alarm is sounding, the applicable alarm on x
indicator fl ashes on the display.

Alarm Operation
The alarm tone sounds at the preset time for 10 seconds, regardless of the mode
the watch is in. In the case of the snooze alarm, the alarm operation is performed a
total of seven times, every ve minutes, until you turn the alarm off or change it to a
one-time alarm (page E-14).
To stop the alarm tone after it starts to sound, press any button. x
Performing any one of the following operations during a 5-minute interval between x
snooze alarms cancels the current snooze alarm operation.

To test the alarm
In the Alarm Mode, hold down to sound the alarm.D

To set an alarm that does not include a month (Daily alarm, Monthly alarm), set xx
for the month. Press until the Dx mark appears (between 12 and 1) while month
setting is fl ashing.
To set an alarm that does not include a day (Daily alarm, 1-Month alarm), set xxx
for the day. Press until the Dxx mark appears (between the end of the month
and 1) while the day setting is fl ashing.
When setting the alarm time using the 12-hour format, take care to set the time x
correctly as a.m. or p.m. ( indicator).P

To set an alarm time
In the Alarm Mode, use 1. to scroll through the alarm D
screens until the one whose time you want to set is
displayed.

To set a one-time alarm, display one of the screens indicated by an alarm number x
from 2 through 5. To set the snooze alarm, display the screen indicated by
1.
After you select an alarm, hold down 2. until the hour setting of the alarm time A

Alarm Types
The alarm type is determined by the settings you make, as described below.
x Daily alarm
Set the hour and minutes for the alarm time. This type of setting causes the alarm to
sound everyday at the time you set.
x Date alarm
Set the month, day, hour and minutes for the alarm time. This type of setting causes
the alarm to sound at the specifi c time, on the specifi c date you set.
x 1-Month alarm
Set the month, hour and minutes for the alarm time. This type of setting causes the
alarm to sound everyday at time you set, only during the month you set.
x Monthly alarm
Set the day, hour and minutes for the alarm time. This type of setting causes the
alarm to sound every month at time you set, on the day you set.

Auto return features
If you leave a screen with fl ashing digits for two or three minutes without performing
any operation, the watch automatically saves any settings you have made up to that
point and exits the setting screen.
Data and Setting Scrolling
The button is used to scroll through setting screen data on the display. Holding D
down this button during a scroll operation scrolls through the data at high speed.

Illumination
An LED (light-emitting diode) and a light guide panel
illuminate the entire display for easy reading in the dark.
Illumination may be hard to see when viewed under direct x
sunlight.
Illumination turns off automatically whenever an alarm x
sounds.
Frequent use of illumination runs down the battery life. x

In any mode, press to illuminate the display for about B
one second.

Dual Time
The Dual Time Mode lets you keep track of time in a different time zone.
In the Dual Time Mode, the seconds count is synchronized with the seconds count x
of the Timekeeping Mode.
